I had supper this evening at Fionn MacCool's. It was fairly busy when I got there. I ordered Mini Forkies. I'd had them at other Fionn MacCool's in the past and have enjoyed them. They were really good this evening. I also ordered some wings tossed in medium sauce with creamy dill dip. The wings were just okay ... I probably wouldn't order them again. Melanie was my server. She was friendly and took good care of me.

Tonight my boyfriend and I went out on a date; we were supposed to go somewhere else, but with the wait time being over an hour at that restaurant, we decided to come here. Since this place opened, I've been hearing good things about it and tonight we decided to try it. Coming here on a Friday night, we knew it was going to be busy, so there was a 15 to 20 minute wait, which was fine, a busy restaurant is a good one. We were finally seated at a table near the bar, and right away had our server come up and ask us what we would like to drink. I had water and my boyfriend had the Goose Island IPA and after browsing the menu we decided on a appetizer of Beer Bread, and I had ordered the Salmon Leek Pie, and he ordered Slow Roast Lamb Shank. Despite the business of the restaurant, our appetizer promptly came out and it was really good; the beer bread was tasty, and the cheese sauce was flavourful and not too salty; our meals came out about 10 minutes after. The Salmon Leek Pie was good! It had a really nice cream sauce with the buttermilk mashed potatoes tasted good, and the chunks of salmon were a nice wonderful surprise in every bite, and the market garden salad had a nice dressing. The lamb shank fell right off the bone, and had gravy and some sautéed vegetables along with it. Overall it was a nice experience. The ambience was loud, it was really busy, and when we were finishing our drinks, the manager had come by and ask us how our evening was tonight. She was very kind and it was nice that she likes to take care of her restaurant and customers. Our server was nice as well, I feel as when we needed a refill on our drinks, she was right there. Prices were average for a pub, looking around $20-$40 per person if you average it out. Nice experience, hopefully we'll go back on a less busier night, maybe for lunch!

Shepard's pie with side of Cesar salad. Steak garnished with mushrooms gravy and mashed potato's

Every time I return to this establishment I have an amazing time. The service and food is very consistent, they have affordable weekday deal specials on drinks and food. The environment is very cozy and makes for an excellent date night or evening out with friends. My personal favourite is the Shepard's pie with the side of salad. Amazing portion and always leaves me satisfied. In the photo my friend got the steak garnished with mushroom And gravy with a side of mashed potato's that she enjoyed.

I can't say enough about this place! It's simply fantastic! We have been here three times now, and have been able to experience the night time vibe with live music, dinner vibe and lunch vibe. Every time we get incredible service and amazing food! Consistently wonderful visits! Our latest visit we had Chris (manager?) as our waiter and he was fantastic! I would highly recommend this place!!

I was pleasantly surprised at the extensive variety provided by the lunch and dinner menu at Fionn MacCool's. It is not often I have a genuinely difficult time deciding which menu item to chose, but this experience was a toss up between the many intriguing entrées including wraps, sandwiches, domestic and cultural dishes, and the power bowl I eventually settled on. The beer menu was extensive, although many of the choices I would usually favour were only served in a can or bottle, rather than a more desirable draught option. The interior of the restaurant was glowing pleasantly with natural light as I dined mid-day, seated in the bar side of the venue.

Mini sheperds pie and bacon burger make a good Victoria Day lunch. :)

The food here is alright, not really a wow either. The food is pricey. I guess it's because fionas is a chain. The service was great though.

My first time at McCabe's led to an overall enjoyable experience. First and foremost, the food was…read morevery good and the menu looked excellent boasting a half price Tuesday burger menu, which I am sure I will be back for. I had the spring menu special pork chop which was very good though lacking the mass I require for sustenance. The main downfall of McCabe's is the overall bland and predictable beer list with only one decent craft IPA on tap (Anderson's IPA which received a 4.5 on Crapper Craft Reviews). While this saved the day the next most intriguing option was...nothing unless you enjoy a Sleeman railside or a Belgian Moon.....No thank you. Beer is why I come to pubs so this certainly knocked a good start off my rating. Secondly the service, which I usually dont give two farts about, was slower than my second cousin Jimmy (bless his soul). All this combined led to a 3 star rating, but I'm a hard ass so take this with some salt. Still one of the better pubs in the city which is pretty sad. STEP UP YOUR GAME LONDON. We wanted to go…read moresomeplace within walking distance of our place downtown, but someplace that wouldn't be filled with students either, and McCabe's was the perfect place, and we headed out around 7:30pm, and when we got there, there was room on the patio for us to sit. Our waiter was super nice, asked us our drink order and we ordered appetizers as well. I ordered a Somersby Cider, and for appetizers we got spinach dip, deep fried pickle spears and bruchetta. All came out first after our drinks and were tasty. The spinach dip was a bit on the salty side, but that was okay, we still gobbled it up anyway. Hanging out with three guys, you know the food is going to be eaten. For my main meal, I got the Buffalo chicken wrap with sweet potato fries. The wrap was really good, super spicy and hot, and the sweet potato fries, were sliced into thick wedges and didn't come with a chipotle sauce like most sweet potato fries do. That was fine, I wasn't able to finish my main meal because of the apps we ordered, so I got a take out box to put my leftovers in for tomorrow. I'm glad we went when we did, it started to get busier and more and more people started coming onto the patio, security guard blocked off the back entrance to the stairs going downstairs to the back for the easier access to the washrooms, so I had to use the front and go all the way through the restaurant. If you are going to McCabe's for a nice drink or night out with friends, your best option is to get their early, before the crowds of students fill up the place for the rest of the night to get the best seat in the house.

This is an update to a previous brunch review that had some issues. The manager kindly reached…read moreout and provided a $100 gift card to entice us to give them another try. This time was a dinner for three. We started with a dozen oysters on the half shell that were fresh and delicious. Appreciated that we were notified that they have Happy Hour Tues-Fri 3pm-5pm with 1/2 price oysters. Also had the Fried Smelts which were tasty. Two of us had Craft burgers. This time they did arrive as ordered (last time med rare arrived well done) but they mixed the orders. One was med rare and the other rare. Not nice having to change burgers after each taking a bite. Despite the mix up the juicy burgers and fries were excellent. The other order was the Braised Beef Cheek Birria Grilled Cheese. This was very good but a touch pricey at $28 for what you get. Speaking of price, the craft burger is $24. I asked for a side of mayo for the fries and it arrived promptly. They charged $2 for the mayo which was not mentioned. Considering that our total bill ran $250 it seemed out of place to charge for mayo. One of the best reasons to come to Craft Farmacy is to try craft beers which they rotate regularly. We each enjoyed a beer or two. For desert we ordered their Chai Crème Brûlée and Crack Pie with gelato. Both are highly recommended. We also had glass of sherry that unfortunately was off and had to be sent back. Replaced with a glass of Port. When the bill arrived the sherry was not removed, they did take it out when we caught the mistake. Our meal was much better than the last visit. All of the food was well prepared this time but the little mistakes on burger mixup and sherry on the bill were disappointing. Still if looking for a good burger and a great beer you can do a lot worse than Craft Farmacy.
