So tonight our LGBTQ baseball team went here to celebrate our last game (pregame drinks/food) when we got there they wouldn't allow us to put tables together on the patio "due to the umbrellas" so we sat at 3 tables close together and all chatted togethers Our server was super kind and took our food and drink orders, never once mentioning that there was apparently an issue w the way we had our chairs turned to be able to include everyone on conversations from each table. (even tho we we're all in the far corner. All of a sudden this "manager" comes out very rudely and aggressively tells us that we need to move our chairs and that her servers need to be able to get around .. we didn't understand this as we were in a corner and one of the guys on our team nicely said okay sorry we didn't know.. this manager Rene proceed to yell at all 20 of us that she was the manager and if we didn't like it we were welcome to leave and never come back.. she actually said this TWICE and we were all so confused with why she was reacting that way when we were being none confrontational.... several members left while some of us had to wait to get our food, which was yummy! Our server actually apologized for the manager's behaviour and another table came over to say how bad it was the way she spoke and treated us poorly for no reason. I grew up as a child going here w my dad for wings and now at 40 sadly I can say due to this I as well as my team will never be returning. Had their Tuesday special cheeseburger and fry. Burger was pathetic. Nothing special about it. You can get better burgers at most fast food restaurants. We waited about 30 mins for our order. The place is dated inside. Small, loud, and packed with people who I presume have no tastebuds. Prices are astronomically high for mediocre food. Great local Pub serving all the british "pub grub" favourites including Mash n' Bangers, Shepherds Pie, Fish n' Chips, giant stuffed yorkshires, steak and kidney pie, etc the list goes on. Of course they also have Canadian favourites like amazingly good wings and burgers, and soups and salads, They also have a desert menu although I've never tried it... All the good local beers are on tap and lots of imports on tap as well including Guinness, Harp, Kilkenny, Smithwicks, Bass, Becks, Boddingtons, Stella Artois, Hoegaarden Daily specials and lots of "events" such as an upcoming Irish Whiskey tasting as well so be sure to check out their website for more info. The nachos are fantastic tons of cheese and toppings. The wings were big juicy and properly sauced had a good flavour I had medium and tiger stripe and both were excellent. The French onion soup was a bit thick for my liking but still had a very good flavor. The price of everything is very reasonable. The staff is very well attentive and the small quiet atmosphere is very nice. I will be coming back for years to come. I can't wait for the summer to try the patio. read more

I've been going to the Waltzing Weasel on and off for the past year, and I have always appreciated the consistency and quality of the food. Today, what really stood out to me was the service. I was lucky enough to get Lily as a server, who was not only attentive and effective in her service, but also kind, patient, calm, and really, really nice! It was a busy, maybe even hectic day (I get that, patios just opened) yet, out of the four restaurants I went to that afternoon (I know, I just like to explore), Lily was the best server I came across. She never made me feel rushed, which actually made me calm down enough to eat my food quickly, ironically enough. I was worried because there was a line, but she never made me feel rushed at all. She was present, communicative, and informed, and she really made me feel like a priority! I was having a pretty bad day and by the time I left, I was smiling. Some people are just so naturally reassuring, and I loved seeing how productive she was at the same time. I worked as a server in probably a dozen restaurants, and I recognize the skill that it takes! My salad was great, the wine was wonderful, but the service made it a really top-notch experience. The restaurant is clean, nice atmosphere. The staff friendly. Food tastes good, was served hot and fairly quick. However, expensive for what you get. What will keep me from returning, with the overpriced food, is that soft drink refills are not included with meals. There are plenty of other restaurants nearby that serve the same quality food for less cost and include soft drink refills. I do not recommend The Waltzing Weasel. read more

Too bad...been there before and things were great. Ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich...half way through realized it was partially raw, with a pink center. When I mentioned it to the busser, she said "i"d heard about this" but I hadn't told anyone about it...so clearly I wasn't the only one. At no point did a manager or even sever speak to me about how poor this was. What bothered me most, was that they asked if I wanted it replaced and then charged me full price for the replacement. I'm sorry, but you serve raw chicken to your patrons, then at least discount the meal, or comp it. You'll certainly hear from me if I am sick from the raw chicken. Considering my work is at the Ivey school on a regular basis, I'll be sure to share my experience. read more

(Not just a generic Canadian restaurant with a Union Jack flag on the wall and fish and chips on the menu, like most places that call themselves an English pub). Easily one of my favourite patios in the city, and I suspect one that is not as well known. Not exactly party central or lending itself to people-watching, the patio is perfect for a family and/or small group of friends to meet and enjoy a few drinks and good food outdoors. Conveniently located right next to the Tin Cup mini-golf and driving ranges it also make a great destination for an afternoon or evening out. The staff have always been phenomenal at this location - friendly, helpful and eager to please. The food? Same. A thoughtful and delicious combination of traditional pub grub at a competitive price. You can expect to find all your faves such as Mash n' Bangers, Shepherds Pie, Fish n' Chips - but also burgers, nachos and wings. They also have a perhaps surprisingly good selection of import beers on tap - on top of domestics and some local craft beers. The most telling part about how good this place is might be the fact that it can occasionally involve lengthy wait times, especially once the good weather hits and you're looking for a spot on the patio. Overall the food has been great before this visit. Today we had the ribs and wings special and the ribs were tough!! I have never had to use a knife to eat my ribs. So today's experience was not a good one. The service was very interesting as well. Our server was a little arrogant and when we asked about the ribs it was like he didn't care. There was a piece of hair in my food. The colour was not from any of the people I went with, one person was bald. When the waitress was notified of the hair she just said "K", and quickly walked away going straight into the kitchen. No "I'm sorry" or anything. When she immediately returned to our table she just put the item on the table and said "here's some non-hairy food", laughing as she once again quickly walked away. I was flabbergasted. Needless to say I will not be attending this place again and have told people of my experience. They will not be attending the establishment anymore either. They were fairly frequent eaters there. Great spot for a summer beverages on the patio. Sun was shining, drinks were cold and the atmosphere was great. Stoped in here after work with a friend for cold beverages and some appetizers. Had the nachos and the spinach dip. Both were great. Thr nachos were a good size with plenty of cheese. Did not get chicken or chilli but we're still good even though I'm not a big fan of shredded lettuce on nachos. Spinach dip was amazing. Would definitely order again. Can't say the service is good nor the welcoming. Wasn't greeted very politely and got attitude from the server before we even ordered! However the food made up for the lack of service. Fantastic wings on a Monday evening ($5/pound?) and sheps pie was delicious! Homemade style food and I highly recommend. Fresh tasting and good portion sizes. I never judge a place by the service. Went here out of impulse. Bill came to $33 bucks. French onion soup was the best thing I've ever tasted. The broth was delicious and had a watery base which really was apparent. The cheese was chalky and delicious. Tasted as though it had been sitting in the fridge for 2 weeks which is good as cheese is mold anyways right? I suppose they were trying to be authentic with the cheese. 10/10 would come again only for the hot piece of ass waiter. read more
