It's in a cute part of town. Looks like lots of bars and restaurants and general downtown activity. Parking can be a challenge. You can park in front and there are meters around. Place was hopping on a Friday night. You find your own seat. We sat at a booth in back. We were warned that the server is slammed and there might be a wait but it was fine. The server took good care of us. They have popcorn machine and you can help yourself. The drinks are pretty cheap and they have lots of cocktails and ok beer selection. Menu is just big enough. Prices are good all around. And again drinks are pretty cheap. There are 5 of us. 2 people got wings. 1 was liked 1 said it was just ok. Someone got the crab cakes and she liked them it was an appetizer. And 2 of us got the French dip sandwich. It was good. Lots of tender roast beef. Cheese was good. Not too many veggies though. I like veggies. But it was a good sandwich. The dip au jus was good. 1 of us got tots and I got fries. Lots of fries and decent amount of tots. They were good, generous. It was all pretty good. I would go back and hang out again.

Worst customer service EVER! When I went back to talk to owner , two drunks tried to get in my face, I'm have martial arts training, so it wouldn't have been pretty. The smells of smoke and beer and short-order cooking...the sounds of mindless sports shows on the TV - even the Price is Right makes for good watching...the murmur of the type of chatter that seems so important at the time...I miss all of these things so much, but I'm here to tell you, That Place on 26th St still has it all and they deliver both barrels! The place was PACKED, so I didn't try to get lunch yesterday, but I'll be heading back very soon cause the reason the place was PACKED was the food they were serving - the day's special was stromboli and one after another came in and ordered one or two or three, some stayed and ate, some left with their orders, but the flow never even slowed! Yes, smoking is permitted, but so what? If that bothers you, you're probably better off in a safe little corporate "pub". THIS is a REAL tavern and they are worth more than a try. Stop in, grab some beers and a bite and enjoy all the memories they bring up!

The corned beef was tender, but he was appalled when he removed the bread to find a layer of corned beef folded in half to cover half of the sandwich. There wasn't much corned beef at all. Cole slaw also tasted like bland cabbage. :(( Not sure we would return.
