Black & Tan
Daniel S.

Super nice waitress. They were pretty busy and she was on it. The place is very cool with a bar off to the side and a small dining room in a sort of separate space. Food was great, too. We got a burger, haddock and fish & chips. All were great. Just wish haddock filet were a little bigger. Had an old fashioned which wasn't very good, but then the black and tan was a beauty.

The ambiance was super cool and the mashed potatoes were AMAZING! Service was mediocre but fairly prompt. Definitely worth a visit! Around 20 bucks a plate

Blackened fish sandwich

I have been to Finn's many times over the past 10 years and the new owners have done a wonderful job keeping the friendly atmosphere, good beers and comfortable setting. We were greeted quickly and were seated in the bar area as we requested. Service was good at first and then got kind of spotty. The food has always been just OK but at this last visit my blackened fish sandwich didn't make the grade. The fish was fine but the Cajun seasoning was dumped (like a full tablespoon) on top of the already cooked fish. I am not sure the cook understood how a blackened fish sandwich is prepared. Other meals such as the hot dogs were noted as bland, too basic.

Famous nachos

Unique pub ... beer was nice and cold and food was amazing! We liked it so much we had dinner here twice while here on vacay!

Ruben sandwich with mashed potatoes

Finn's Irish Pub is a favorite spot to go. The food is amazing! I had a Ruben sandwich that melted in my mouth. I can't wait to go back. The service is great! The staff is very friendly. The ambience is like an Irish pub.

Food was ok. Burger was not well done. But ok. I really wanted to love the blueberry margarita but it was so strong I couldn't drink it. Chairs are hard and uncomfortable. Waitress was great. Chips good. Would try another place if back in the area

Haddock chowder

My Family and I came here while on vacation. It's a cute and quaint restaurant that really did feel like an true Irish pub. Guinness pours were perfect and staff was extremely friendly. I had the best haddock chowder I've ever had and my mom loved her boiled dinner. I'd highly recommend coming here for some Irish fare and good drinks!

Fish & chips. The fish was not fried properly. What is pictured is the outer layer of the fish--what's supposed to be crispy was doughy.

Fish & chips. $22. The chips were well done. However, I could've gone to the grocery store for that. The fish was a huge let down. The breading was doughy and only the ends were crispy. The waitress was informed and the response was: oh, ya, a little watery. That was it. As if that's how it's supposed to be. No. I should've just thrown my money in the trash. I couldn't eat it. I tried, but the grease was too much. Usually with bars the food is pretty good. Avoid this place if you want good fish & chips.

Black and Blue beer
Jack T.

The beer selection was pretty good...i got a black and blue which was satisfactory...it did say a 20oz but im pretty sure it was 16 oz. Very happy with how fast the food came out. The jumbo pretzel and beer cheese was a good app choice. The nachos weren't my favorite. They made an effort to spruce up the mac and cheese but it def needed some salt. Took us a while to find the hostess stand located at the back of the restaurant if you come in on main street. I wish they had a gender neutral bathrooms since they are single stall and had to wait a while to use the ladies room.

Unfortunately we drove over from Bar Harbor searching for something other than lobster. They are permanently closed!

Not sure why they have such a high rating. Good was average at best. Service was better than the food. Disappointing given the rave reviews.

This spot is cozy and quaint and full of friendly local staff members. It was Kentucky Derby day and a lot of folks we were watching it as we walked in, ambiance was jovial and loud. Greeted immediately by the hostess and bartender and waited a short while for a table to open up. I ordered the chicken sandwich and my husband ordered the Reuben. He is Jewish and loves Reubens, gets them all the time. He said this one was really, really good. Great texture to the meat. Now, my Chicken Sandwich - was the best I've ever had in my life. I told my husband, I will be holding any and all future chicken sandwiches up to this one as the benchmark. The breaded chicken breast was huge and delicious quality white meat. It was dipped in buffalo sauce, and had fresh slaw, pickles, tomato and blue cheese sauce. It was DECADENT and it really hit the spot for me after a long day. I could not stop eating it. YUMMMM. Oh, we also ordered the pub fries - loaded with aioli and cheese and greens. Fries were delish but a bit too much aioli for our taste. Still, wonderful! Huge portion. Overall, food was yummy, out quickly, service was great and we loved the vibes. Easily a fav for us on this trip and we'll be looking forward to coming back again some day!

The place is nuts on Memorial Day weekend but the funny bartender and the cold drinks helped us relax. (People and crazy ass busy downs drive us nuts!) The cocktail was tasty but mostly ice. We get together one a month to chat about old times and our retirement. We take turns choosing a different breakfast restaurant each time. After a few years we had tried most of the regular places in the area. I was looking for another centralized place when I drove by The Hilton Garden Hotel in Bangor, Maine. They have a breakfast buffet every morning from 6-10 AM. I was greeted promptly, seated and options explained. The buffet, which included the coffee, seemed just right. The serving line had all the usual offerings: scrambled eggs, French toast, pan cakes, sausage, bacon, home fries- not the shredded potatoes, etc., and a fruit bar. The best part was the 2 chefs who prepared to take your order for anything else. I got the omelets with bacon, mushrooms, onions, green peppers and cheese. The waitress was very pleasant and checked frequently for coffee refills or if anything else was needed. The omelets were outstanding, same with the fluffy pan cakes, soft French toast, especially the crispy bacon. I have been back 3 times since January of 2026. Great chefs, staff and food. If you are in the area, you can not go wrong by giving them a try.

I had the burger special which was fucking fantastic! I was getting pretty tired of seafood at this point and it was the most refreshing change of pace. It was one of those just in time food experiences. C went for the crab cakes. What a gorgeous version of crab cakes they were! Fancy pants presentation and all things considered some of the best crab cakes we had on our trip. Bartender was really friendly and was super proud of their whiskey/bourbon collection. He did point out a few bottles to us that were really quite special and hard to come across. They had some Penelope variants that were unseen to me. I would come back in a heartbeat. If I lived nearby, I would be here all of the time. There were a ton of interesting menu items I would like to try. '26 - 26
