Bar was stale and dirty. Bartender older lady was very passive aggressive. When asking her about the beers she was upset and gave attitude to paying customers. Lady if you're not happy serving beers find something else. Pretty basic and bad customer service. Lots of wonky young adults , some seemed underage for sure. Very sketchy atmosphere . Got an ipa and it was warm, so take your risks. We went elsewhere to support other bars instead. read more

Came late at night to this Irish pub in Burlington. Finnigan's actually isn't all that Irish. It's basically like a regular old pub. Has a lot of local beers on tap, along with more in bottles and cans. The bar is a lot quieter than many others. Basic looking old dive bar. It doesn't get as much of the college crowd. This is mostly for the locals. Beers are the main things to get. It's about $6 for a pint of local stuff. Among the local brewers is Fiddlehead. They also of course have plenty of Jameson and that kind of stuff. Get lots of good local beers. It has quite a few, a crap ton on tap to choose from. There's no food, but you probably wouldn't want to eat anything made here though. read more

True local dive bar. Not saying this in a bad way... It just is what it is... Place was dead for a Saturday night, which actually made it nice for us to be able to chat with our friends. The beers were pricier than you would think for a dive bar, but they still had everything we were looking for, so that was good. As a tour bus drive, I try to seek out bars that I can recommend to others. What a sad experience I had at Finnigan's Pub in Burlington, VT! The bar tender and customers looked like fun loving people. Man was I wrong!! Bear in mind, I travel all across the USA with various artists, but this is a first. It is actually laughable! I noticed that the pub had a TouchTunes juke box, so I played an Eric Clapton blues tune, "Called Stormy Monday." The bar tender said, "What's' happening here! "Did someone put this on??" I apologized for playing a blues tune. Then asked, "What do you like?" He said, "He just listened to a bluegrass tune." Keep in mind that we are in the far north. So I figured a good ole Chicago Blues tune would be appropriate. A couple of the regulars expressed disapproval of my selection as well. I then felt compelled to bumped my blues tune and play something that they might enjoy. I chose a Black Keys tune. I am from out of town and love to frequent Irish Pubs when I travel for work. I stopped into this place and they have a policy to require medical vaccination records to buy a beer. Although it is well within your rights to request such foolish "papers" it cost you the business of 2 customers....which would have increased your clientele at the time of my visit by 30-50%. In the last 6 months I have visited CA, PA, UT, AZ, MD, VA, TX, FL, and now today VT....all of which to help our warfighters that fight for your right to make such a stupid policy. To begin with, I usually find myself at Finnigan's at the behest of others--its not exactly my 'scene.' On average the crowd is 5-20 years older than myself and the music is a predictable array of mainstream 70s and 80s rock with some 90s power anthems thrown in. Their beer selection is actually very good, and they are less likely than many other establishments in Burlington (coughfarmhousecough) to constantly be out of exactly what you want to order. They always have some fun pints on hand--which is my favorite part about going there. No beer compromising is necessary. Playing darts can be a blast, though the weekend crowds tend to weave into your line of play and I'd really rather not stick a dart into a drunken thirty year old woman's head. Frankly, if Finnigan's wasn't so ugly I'd be much more turned on to going there. Three Needs may have shit beer selection, but it has a really great atmosphere. Finnigan's space could be anything, its a totally non-descript and dark place. Granted, I get the feeling its exactly what it intends to be, i.e. a grungy, blue-collar watering hole with blaring tvs/music and crusty regulars. P.S. There is a $10 credit card limit (which is no big deal guys! small businesses have to protect their interests) that has burned me several times only because I am both forgetful and very poor. read more

Finnigan's is a classic dive bar in Downtown Burlington, and is far enough away from the main stretch that it tends to attract a somewhat different audience. It has a lot of metal heads on any given night, and usually hosts events like football games or DJs occasionally throughout the week. Thursday nights are PBR Night ($1 draft and $2 pitchers) so it's probably the most consistently busy night. If you're looking for a place to just relax and drink, this is the place. It's a traditional no-frills bar. The only negatives I can think of are that brutal staircase to the bathroom, but the flip side to that is the bathrooms are more private than most establishments. read more

We were doing an impromptu bar crawl while visiting Burlington and we stopped in here to get out of the rain. There was only one other guy in the bar when we got there, and nobody else came in while we were there. This a great local hangout with a pool table and great beer. There is no food, but a great atmosphere and the bartender was friendly. We like it because it is away from the tourist trap even though we are not from Vermont. There is a lot of resturants workers who hang out here and metal heads, but can beat the PBR price. Hatas gonna hate!!!!! This bar is the bomb! You out of staters don't know awesomeness when you see it (or drink in it). The atmosphere is super chill and you don't have to deal with the annoying drunken college crowd that seems to infiltrate most Burlington bars. There are the older townies, the young professionals, the laid back college students, and a good mix of all types from Burlington. You can play pool or darts, and you can order some pretty cheap but pretty good drinks from the laid back bartenders. The music is pretty eclectic and ranges from Garth Brooks to LMFAO to Niravana. If you want to hang out with friends or if you want to meet some new people Finny's is where it's at. The only downside is that it's a Yankees bar. Magic happens at this bar. A $3.00 craft selection every day. whilst being one of the few bars in town that is just a bar (no food) it is not a loud or inhospitable drinking hole, rather it crosses the gamut of being a great spot to enjoy a drink and a conversation you can actually hear in the early evening to an upbeat last call environment. The beer/whiskey selection is truly some of the best in town, not dictated by the status quo.
