Wasn't sure how many people we'd be, but the place looked big enough. It wasn't. Not for the crowds of people stuffing Cryan's on Saturday night, drinking at the bar, eating at the tables. Clinton doesn't have as many people as Cryan's did that night. Incredible. So we put our party down to a 40-minute wait. Time went on, a few people left, a few drinks happened, and finally the rest of us got a table together. Minus for service - the waitstaff was not very friendly to our group; granted, we were forced to stand due to lack of seating, but they didn't give us any helpful tips or any sympathy. Drinks were just "are you ready?" and then handed out. Food experience went a little bit better. The food itself was fine, mostly because none of us ordered pizza. It's bar pies here - super-thin crust, comes out crispy, which may be your thing but it's not mine. The onion rings look fantastic - huge, but with a lot of breading, and I didn't have enough of an appetite to down that by myself. I ended up on the Baslick Burger, ordered rare, and it actually came out pleasantly close to rare. Other people's came out to their order as well (medium and well, one with a subbed side). Nothing spectacular, but nothing bad. Same for the fries. All in all? It was an experience. But not one to walk into blind. Maybe if I was local I'd go on a low-volume night, otherwise I'll stick to some less crowded vibes.

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic lunch of an amazing 12-inch cheesesteak and fries (with two different cheeses and fried onions), a fully loaded and delicious All-Day Irish Breakfast, and flourless peanut butter cake dessert. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and our server, Nikki, was absolutely phenomenal. We dined on a Sunday, so the place was fairly empty because most people were out for brunch. Granted, Siasma once had an amazing brunch buffet, and although that may be gone (for now?) that Irish breakfast is definitely worth stopping by.

We had the fried pickles which were so good - the batter was light and not greasy. Also got the soda bread which was good but a tad dry (almost like a scone more than bread). The Jameson marmalade that came with it was more of a dipping sauce than a spreadable marmalade but it was tasty. We got a side salad and the potato leek soup which was good. We shared the Guinness chicken for our entree and the kitchen kindly split the entree before bringing it to the table which we really appreciated. It was excellent. Ran out of room so no dessert. I noticed AFTER we ordered that there was a cocktail special that night. Our waitress never mentioned any specials, so I tried to flag her down after I had already ordered a different one not on the list. I mentioned to the hostess what I needed, and I hung out waiting for our waitress at the front. After waiting at least 15 min for her to show up from the back, I was able to ask her to change my drink order. The food here is FABULOUS. We got the housemade Irish soda bread and it was amazing. Hubby got the shepherd's pie and it was delicious. I got the lamb chops over asparagus and mashed potatoes and it was FANTASTIC ! I don't know if our waitress was new or what, but our meals were delivered without silverware. We waited several minutes, then finally flagged down another waitress so that we could eat ! If it wasn't for the poor service, this place could easily be 5 stars due to the fabulous food. Thankfully we got out of there before the live music started, loud music is not our vibe. At the very end of the meal, somehow my original drink order made an appearance (that's what I was afraid of, that she didn't cancel the order). The folks at the table next to us ordered the exact same cocktail, so when the bar tried to give it to us, the waitress told them to give it to the table next to us instead. Geez, we were already paying for our meal at the time. Lol The manager did come out and the end of the meal to ask how things were. I did mention I thought our waitress might be new. I didn't get an answer as to if she was, but I posed it more as a statement than a question.

Planning an event can often be stressful, but the team here made it effortless and truly went above and beyond to make our evening special. They generously allowed us to reserve the entire bar area without charging a reservation fee, which gave us the perfect space to celebrate comfortably. The food and drinks across the board were incredible. You have to try the calamari--it was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. I was also genuinely blown away by the pizza; they make a seriously fantastic pie, especially for an Irish pub! On top of that, they accommodated our outside cake, cut it up, and provided plates and forks for our entire group without missing a beat. A massive shoutout to Lacey, our point of contact and server for the night. She was phenomenal--attentive, organized, answered every question, and made every single request happen seamlessly. If you are looking for top-tier service, fantastic atmosphere, and delicious food (whether for a casual night out or a private gathering), I cannot recommend this place enough.
