There was a time where Siamsa went from being a wonderful place to dine to a really low standard -- but now it's back! The days of poorly cooked meals and excessively loud music are gone. My girlfriend and I had a fantastic lunch of an amazing 12-inch cheesesteak and fries (with two different cheeses and fried onions), a fully loaded and delicious All-Day Irish Breakfast, and flourless peanut butter cake dessert. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and our server, Nikki, was absolutely phenomenal. We dined on a Sunday, so the place was fairly empty because most people were out for brunch. Granted, Siasma once had an amazing brunch buffet, and although that may be gone (for now?) that Irish breakfast is definitely worth stopping by. read more

As soon as you walk through the doorway you feel the atmosphere of an Irish pub. The woodwork and decor was very cool. It has a very large bar and lots of tables. We were there on a Saturday for lunch. I just got a cheeseburger, which you could tell was homemade. We also got the beef stew and boneless wings. The beef stew was fabulous. No need for a pot of gold to eat at this treasure of a restaurant. It might be one of the prettiest places in town, and the food is delicious, but the prices stay on the high end of reasonable, making it an easy choice for a fun night out on the town. Even better, on Friday and Saturday nights they whisk the tables away and bring in live music or a DJ, and this corner pub becomes a lively nightclub. My mom and I were in town for a few days, staying just across the street at the Penn Stroud (which we highly recommend and look forward to visiting again soon) so it was an easy stroll over to Siamsa on two different nights. The first night we were there the place was quiet and most of the patrons were served at the bar. We took one of the booths at the front of the restaurant and were well cared for by the waitstaff. Mom ordered a Caesar salad which featured a fantastic, rich dressing. I was delighted to order an Irish Breakfast platter complete with bangers and black pudding. Such a treat! Our second visit was foolishly unplanned- who goes to an Irish Pub on March 17th by accident? Yup, that's us. This visit included live music, a wait for a table, and a limited menu. Pierogis and a cheeseburger were exactly what we wanted this time, which was good, as they ended up closing the kitchen early after running out of potatoes! The cheeseburger was juicy and filling, and the pierogis were as good as they always are- it's hard to go wrong with a mashed potato dumpling. The only word of warning I'll give on the service is this- just know that the kitchen is two flights of stairs above the pub, so if you ask for anything extra to be brought there might be a wait. Our waitress brought our extra horseradish sauce to us with a smile, but I couldn't help but feel bad once I realized how many steps she'd added to make us happy. read more

I am a local and my family and I have been coming here since they opened their doors. I can tell you that the ambience is friendly Casual, and according to my family authentic to a traditional Irish pub the food is seasonal, regional and delicious. I highly recommend The pretzels with beer cheese, and the fish and chips. We recently did a head to head challenge between a couple pubs on main street and Siamsa was by far the winner with the best fish and chips on Main Street. On our most recent visit our server was Sydney and she was delightful! Bar itself was very nice, but stuff looks like they comes from somewhere, where they never spoke English at all. I ordered 2 onion soup and chicken wings. And at the end- Sheppard pie. Server bought me 1 absolutely cold soup, even it's was melted cheese. When I asked him, where is a second one- he looks confused. Then he brought shepherds pie, but still chicken wings were on hold. And it's was no silver on the table. We asked, how we can eat food without spoons and fork, server looked at as and said- do you need spoon? I was shocked- who can eat soup without spoon? Their fish and chips are soooo big that they may put you in a food coma. Truly reminded me of my visits to pubs in the UK. The only thing missing on my platter was the mushy peas like you get in the UK. My friend raved about her penne with vodka sauce. She liked the sauce and the portion was huge. Stopped in for lunch and a cold beer. I was able to get a black and tan and it was served cold and well poured. I opted for the pot roast sandwich as recommended by the bartender and it was delicious. It was a generous size sandwich so I had to leave behind some of the roll to be able to enjoy all the pot roast which was delicious. From the beginning to the end, it was a horrible experience! We had a table of 10, and the owner's wife took us outside and told us to put our own tables together. No problem, we did. A waiter named Dylan brought us sodas that were flat. When we mentioned this, his exact words were, "We can't do anything about that." Fine, I asked if they had regular iced tea, and he said yes. It seems since summer they have had to cut back and are a generic pub place with a high number of on tap options. Service was fine, but the Irish breakfast did not cook their tomato well and I believe was only flavorful because the bangers and sausages are pre made. The shepherds pie was just flavorless- undercooked carrots and no peas or onions, and mashed potatoes with no seasoning or cream, barely any flavor from the meat. If you want a sports bar hangout for a drink and a meal, I'd give it a try, but not sadly for a touch of Irish ambiance. read more

Howdy all it's been a while, and I've got a good one here for you. So on a visit to Bushkill Falls (Highly Recommended) we stopped in town to this gem. The Food was amazing the appetizers, main course and drinks were on par. The service was good our guy seemed new but was very personable. I loved the Irish pub look and the live music made it feel like a great time. Parking was horrible but that's not on the plane b just super busy in the area. We ate here yesterday for an impromptu late lunch. We were walking thru Stroudsburg just taking in the sights. There was outdoor seating appropriately socially distanced. My wife had a Guinness and a burger plate, while I had the fish and chips. We were surprised when the plates arrived--the portions were enormous! The fish in my fish and chips was enormous! We visited Siamsa this past Monday after my Grandmother's funeral. We were a party of about 50 ppl and didn't have a reservation. Dakota, one of the staff members along with two other servers stepped up to the plate. They coordinated with the owner as to whether they could accommodate us. They were able to give us a short menu to alleviate any extra stress to kitchen. My Aunt is the owner of Gigi & Co. Dance company which is down the street from Siamsa. She has dined here many times and had nothing but enjoyable experiences. We enjoyed the pretzels, pierogies, and many of us ordered the shepherd's pie; which was AMAZING! We had ordered curry chicken with rice and steak and mashed potato. Very basic dishes that was hard to screw up. First the steak and mashed, It was boxed instant mashed potatoes that you would get at KFC! and a steak that was probably rejected from Walmart. Tough entirely full of grisel and fat, overcooked to boot. I wouldn't feed that to my dog. Powered mashed potatoes..Really?!?! Then the Curry chicken and rice, It should have been advertised as cream of chicken and rice without curry. Afterwards I was literally running for the bathroom 5 minutes after we left. My family and I came here for lunch today around 1130. The building it's self was very cold as we had to keep our jackets on instead of taking them off to get comfortable to eat. As we were ready to order we asked what the soup of the day was. They said they were sold out of the soup of the day. Weird.. because it was only 1130. As we continued to order some entrees the waiter then told us they dont start serving entrees until 3. Wishing they mentioned that on the menu or prior to us looking at the menu. My mother then ordered a Ruben sandwich and asked for mustered. The waiter then had to go in the back to see if they had enough pastrami and to see if they had mustard. Our food took about 45 minutes to come out which normally we wouldn't care but we had my sister there that only had an hour lunch break. The restaurant only had 6 other people there. Great salad with awesome croutons. Only complaint is that bartender poured a half pour of a beer he thought was a heavy duty beer. In town for the weekend. Came into this place with a good expectation because the crowd looked fun and the music was nice. By the end of the night my boyfriend and I regretted coming into this place. The service wasn't the best and actually a little rude. The security guard in the front while doing his job, doesn't need to be arrogant while asking for someone's ID. As a costumer, if I'm about to go into the bar I obviously was planning on showing identification. Once inside we asked for a couple of tequila shots and instantly noted that it WASNT tequila. It was clearly another liquor and of the cheap kind. We got sick and had to leave right away. We held a surprise birthday party for my best friends 60th this past weekend. Let me tell you that I have no words how awesome the staff were. Jennifer was incredible helping where needed even though we didn't know what we were doing for a minute! The room was perfect, and the food was great and plentiful! I can't recommend Siamsa more! Leslie was a pleasure to work with. I would love to go there in the winter with the fire going and a game on the TV! The price was very reasonable too.
