I made a yelp account just to post about how shitty this haircut is. I've had a lot of bad haircuts in my day but this one takes the cake. Not only my own haircut but my brothers was completely fucked up. Not a lot pisses me off, but when I pay $35 for a haircut- I expect it to take more than 10 minutes and not look like dog shit. I am visiting from out of town and my brother recommended we go here. What a joke, I feel that the free beer is there to distract everyone from how butchered they are getting. I'm embarrassed to go back home looking like this. I didn't even have them touch the top of my hair and it was still horrendous. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Old review: I usually don't post reviews, especially negative ones; but this wasn't a normal occasion and I think it'll be helpful for people's future references. I am a young businessman and I have important business meetings almost everyday. This past Thursday, 01/16, I had a huge party hosted by myself and a meeting on Friday morand I decided to try this new place, Finley's, close to my crib in River Oaks area. It's a nice place and ppl are nice! So why 1 star?! Because... the sweet black lady who works there cut my forehead when she was cutting my hair. I know things happen, and I'm a genuinely positive person, but this ruined my whole night and had to wear make up to cover only a part of it, which I hated. Unfortunately, this happened in the worst time possible and I don't think I'm going back. Still, they are great people and y'all might be luckier than me and have a great experience! Great place. I was a bit scared at first because a lot of barbershops turn away or frown upon girls coming in to get a cut at their shop. But everyone was very nice and welcoming, and showed me to the lounge. Then Raniel, the one I booked with, came and took me to his seat and I told him how I wanted it and executed the haircut with caution. He asked me if I wanted this or that. And really helped me get the style I wanted. I found him through Instagram specifically so I'd say book with him his fades are fire. Anyways, the haircut package was 35 and included hot towel while shampooing (which I loved) and a massage from this cool machine. I thought it was well worth my investment. I'll definitely come back for Raniel and the services provided. read more

Subpar experience for the money. This was my first and likely last time I'll go. The website and flyer tout this place as an elevated barber shop. For starters, no refreshments were offered as mentioned in other reviews. Stylist asked what I wanted but ended up doing what she knew. I asked for a scissor cut but advised the length I wanted couldn't be achieved. Ultimately she used clippers. Can't really demand more from someone if they don't possess the skill set. The shampoo massage was a 20 second rinse and didn't get anything resembling a hot leather neck trim. Nothing out of the ordinary about this place. If you needs no frills haircut, there are plenty of places that could do better for less. Had high hopes but rather disappointing outcome. read more

I just got my haircut today and it was subpar. I had an appointment and got there on time but still had to wait about 20-25 minutes. The front desk attendant was not very welcoming and the lady who cut my hair seemed rushed. (Not organized) For a 40$ mens haircut I expect decent service and customer satisfaction. I'm not to picky, but I think there are better options in the Heights. Don't waste your time. Also...I feel that a propper Barber should clean your neck line better. Either use a straight razor or clippers to achieve a nice neck line. A good haircut can't be rushed. read more

Came in about a month ago. Pretty unhappy with my experience here. Got a cut from a bearded fellow who clearly goes for speed. I tried my best to explain what I wanted, but kept getting cut off. Shame on me for not standing my ground. The cut was incredibly quick. Too quick if you know what I mean. Not only quick, but pretty painful. I wanted to ask if he was having a bad day a few times because of how much force he put into the cut. Hoping no one else goes through that. I can go on. My part was the worst I've gotten. When it was time to check out, approximately 12 minutes later, I felt even worse paying over $40 (with a decent tip) for the cut that I received. After I got home, I saw nothing but A LOT of strays that I had to cut myself to clean up his mistakes. Strays on the bottom and behind my ear line. Really? Just shows the lack of attention to detail. I almost called to ask for a refund, but that's just something I really don't do. I did come very close tho. Overall, a bad experience. I won't be back. read more

Before coming to Finley's I would typically go to places like Great Clips and I would occasionally get a decent haircut at an okay price. But that was my biggest issue - consistency. I was tired of having a garbage haircut every other visit. Finley's Barbershop was an amazing experience, specifically Adrian! With the little direction I provided him he was able to give me easily my best haircut and beard trim ever. I've already booked my next appointment (which is a complimentary clean-up, lengthening the time I need to go back for a full cut) and plan on coming back indefinitely! read more

I'm usually not one to deviate from my preferred haircutting spot but this time I am glad I did. The place was neat and clean. The front desk lady was nice and helpful. I liked the lounge area with the big screen tv and complimentary drinks. Raniel was the person that took care of me and he did an exceptional job. He's a very skilled barber and I couldn't be happier with his work. Most importantly his positive attitude and demeanor makes the customer feel at home. Genesis cut my hair and she did an excellent job! She gave me exactly what I wanted and added a few variations that looked great. She also gave me the best neck massage I have had in quite some time. Every 3 weeks I go on line to make an appointment and every 3 weeks the booking app doesn't work. I sit here for 15 minutes thinking it should work because I report the problem every 3 weeks but to no avail. Last haircut is tomorrow. I don't understand how a business with 4 or 5 locations can't mange a simple appointment app and keep it up and running. Not having been to a barbershop since I was a kid, it was great going to an establishment setup for men. My wife and daughters get to enjoy their manis and pedis, I'll gladly trade that for the warm towel on my face at the end of my cut.
