Wanted to take a moment to write a 5 star review. Before coming here, I took my nephew to Supercuts in midtown and his haircut was a disaster. He was so upset and didn't want to go to school. I called before showing and explained the situation. The person at the front desk was SO respectful and nice, and he really made the kid feel cool and confident. Kay gave him a beautiful haircut after meticulously correcting the first, absolutely chopped haircut. They also sent us home with a metal wallet for him and a coupon for a free haircut referral. I made an appointment, but when I arrived the woman at the front desk was seriously confused, forgetful and unable to follow a conversation. I waited ten minutes past my appointment time and there were no barbers there cutting hair. I was patient and gave them the benefit of the doubt, maybe someone was on break. Well, 10 minutes after I checked in and she got my information, she called me back up to the desk to ask me the exact same questions. She then asked if I was a walk in. I explained I had an appointment, and she tried to tell me that the booking did not go through despite the fact that she personally had booked it over the phone for me two hours earlier and they sent me an email confirmation. She repeatedly questioned if it was someone else (it wasn't). She asked if we could start immediately and I said yes, letting her know my appointment time had already passed. We established my appointment was for 5:15 and she then said I could take a seat and we would start then. The only problem is that it was 5:30. Are you confused yet? Me too. At this point, I was so concerned there was no way I was going to let anyone here touch my hair, so I told her I would go elsewhere. She then came around the counter and followed me outside as I walked to my car. I can't say why she was so confused, but her eyes seemed puffy and red. I've had other haircuts here in the past, and I know this is not normal behavior for this individual, which only highlights my concern. I would not feel comfortable getting a haircut here again. I hope they address whatever was going on. I won't be returning. read more

Efficient, polite and well done. Drey arrived on time and was motivated to give me the best haircut experience. The overall experience was unique. I did not know if he would have all of the necessary supplies, but Drey was very well organized and I was his fifth client on the day for a 6 pm evening haircut. I never felt rushed in his pace of the haircut. In the end, he cleaned up everything with a broom and packed up his supplies. He was very careful with clean up everything. The price point is a little high compared to a barbershop, but the quality and care were extremely high in a private environment at home. I cannot overstate how great this was. My husband got a haircut and beard trim, and it is the best haircut I've seen on him in over a year. I was in the room for the entirety of the appointment. First, Drey is an incredibly professional, down-to-earth, courteous person. Whatever your comfort level in terms of conversation for a haircut, you will feel at ease. Scheduling is as easy as can be. You can schedule within a few hours of your desired appointment time and he offers slots that would work with a variety of schedules. He was prompt, both in calling to confirm as well as his arrival time. I also read up on the cancellation policy, which seems to be more than fair. The tools appear to be in great shape, clean, and well-organized. He was conscientious of the space but also very relaxed about working with what you have available. The cut is excellent. I will upload a photo of my husband once the light is better. Like I said, he looks amazing. The beard trim is also perfect. Drey took care of cleanup, so anyone worried about having to clean up their own hair needn't be. The short version: this was a *convenient*, *well-executed*, *genuinely fun* experience. For the last few months, I had been rocking a pompadour style haircut that required a lot of product and upkeep. With a heavy travel schedule coming up, I needed to switch to a shorter, lower maintenance haircut. Before he started to shear, Dre gave me an expert consultation, and we were able to talk through all of the different options. His philosophy is that any haircut can be a great one--it's all about execution and the fine details. Despite my small space, Dre was able to set up his station on my kitchen table. He carries a full compliment of barbering equipment, including a mirror to show you his progress. Once he got cutting, he gave me the option to work on my computer, read, or just chat. I decided to put on some chill music and opt for the conversation. For the next 1.5 hours, Dre did his magic while we chatted about work, life and business. Once Dre finished, I was very pleased with the haircut. He has a fine attention to detail and created a sharp fade that has resulted in many compliments. Immediately after, Dre took hold of my broom and dustpan, leaving no trace despite the vast amount of hair shorn! Overall, this was a great experience. His experience shows, very comfortable with all of his tools in his huge camping backpack and able to set up everything in a corner of my tiny UES apartment. Haircut: 5/5 Stylist: 5/5 Dreyvon is very friendly and dare I say charismatic. He's also very polite and most importantly PUNCTUAL. He showed up exactly on time. The haircut. He asks and is understanding of the client's needs. The haircut is based on the client's wishes and he makes that clear. I have no complaints about the haircut. In terms of cleanup, he offered to cleanup since that's part of his service. However I wanted to cleanup myself (since I'm a bit of a clean freak). If there's anything I can suggest for improvement, it would be to try to keep the cut hair closer in the middle of the room and away from the sides since that makes cleanup harder (no matter who does it). Personally I think at home service isn't for me... this was my first time trying it. I like the ability to go in to get a haircut whenever without booking in advance, and I don't have to worry about my apartment either. But that being said, Dreyvon is as good as I imagine such a service to be so hence the 5/5 rating still. read more
