What is it about winter that causes headlights to burn out? Why can't it happen when it's warm…read moreenough to stand outside and replace it? Anyway, that was the issue that caused me to stop in here today. Luckily it was a brilliant sunny Sunday and even somewhat warm, so I decided to strike while the iron was hot. Many other people were having the same thought today, so there was a little bit of a line at the registers. Not a problem, as they were fully staffed with at least five people manning the helm. I say manning, but one person was womanning. That was nice to see. The line I was in moved quickly, and the guy who helped me was super efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. He quickly looked up the part I needed and explained my option$. He also suggested an additional product to help guard against moisture, something I didn't know about, and for $1.50 extra I went for it. I also signed up for their rewards program, which besides earning you $ off, keeps track of all your purchases and makes returns very easy if necessary. I must say the experience at this branch of this company far exceeds my prior experience at the one on E. Washington Ave. from a couple of years ago. Four stars because for five stars you'd have to wash my car and buy me lunch, too. :-p But I can't think of one negative aspect of my visit today.

If I could give zero starts I would! Awful customer…read moreservice, awful staff, and no help. I called this location (as well as others) they told me the part I needed was in stock. I asked them if I could pick it up in the morning. They took down my info and said "we've made a quote for you and they will be able to help you out". This was a lie. When I came in the lady who "helped" me informed me this part doesn't exist in store, there's no call or quote on file and everything I did lastnight was all made up. I asked multiple times to check or see what may have happened. But nothing. No help, just left sad and empty handed. I called a neighboring location and they helped me out, they got the part ordered from Stoughton and have it in a hour. Seriously wish this store could have had some helpful services, but I would never recommend anyone to come here after dealing with that.

I had a busted resonator pipe and took my car to a shop near me. They didn't have the parts to fix…read moreit, and said even if they did it would cost around $300 to $400 to fix. They said exhaust pros would probably be able to custom make something for me, but that it would cost even more than that. I needed to get it fixed ASAP though, so I bit the bullet and took my car in. They were able to weld something together for me in about an hour, and the total cost was just under $250, and my car ran quiet as a mouse. They didn't bs me or jerk me around and treated me well. Definitely an old school place and certainly not fancy on the inside, but they they do some really great work quickly and for a good price. There also isn't a waiting area inside, but I went to the coffee shop next door and ate some lunch. They came over once to give me an estimate once they got my car up on the lift, and again to let me know when it was done.

He received an…read moreanonymous letter from the residents on Monona Drive saying that they will not give him their business because they feel "unsafe". I am impressed with the amount of compassion and empathy this owner is showing this homeless man. Instead of using that energy to send a passive aggressive anonymous letter to the owner, the residents could have pooled together resources to get a voucher or send a check to get this homeless man a hotel room. We're living in the middle of a pandemic and we need to have compassion and empathy for each other. I, for one, will be giving my business to this establishment when and if my car needs work.

It was like getting a bad tattoo, when you finally get to see the end results you realized the mistake had been made. The color of the piping was wrong and the seams and the form of the seat are not symmetrical when I went to pick up the seat I told Vic that there were mistakes made, he was completely unwilling to fix his mistakes and told me he was done with this and sent me on my way with a small discount on the price. He basically said he was not capable of doing motorcycle seats after I expressed concerns and that he wouldn't be doing any more in the future. This would have been nice to know upfront, not after he agreed to reupholster my seat. Very disappointed in his work and customer service.

Over 10 years ago, I bought my first car as an adult. It was used, but in perfect shape, and…read moresomeone suggested I have it rust proofed. I called around, and most places charged $500 or more, but Madison Auto Trim was around $300 at the time. I got the complete package, with mud flaps. It required the car be left overnight. That car never had any issues with rust. After having owned several cars that DID have issues with rust, I decided my next used car would get the rust proofing package again. I called Madison Auto Trim. The bad news was that now, over a decade later, the same package now costs $600. The good news is it no longer requires being left overnight. I called around again, most of the other places had kept their prices the same ($500-700) but no one else had any openings, so I stuck with where I knew. My appointment was at 3pm and they told me it could take as long as 2 hours. Surprisingly, I was done by 3.40pm. I wont know any time soon if it works as well as last time, but the service was excellent. I deducted one star because they went from being the most affordable option to somewhere in the middle.
