WORTH THE WAIT!!! BETTER THAN GREAT!! I moved to Vancouver…read morea year ago and have had nothing but bad experiences until I came to see Sarah yesterday. She works very fast but gave me the best haircut of my life when I have sat in a chair for over an hour before, only to have a cut that Stevie Wonder could have done better! I have had my hair cut in Hawaii, Palm Springs, L.A., all very high end salons and honestly, this is the very best cut of my life! I apologize but who would have thunk lol Vancouver, WA was going to be the place?! Sarah made me feel so welcomed from the minute I walked through her door. She seemed genuinely happy to meet me and excited about doing my cut. I had no idea of what I wanted done and within minutes she showed me a cut that she had on her phone and just said, "this is your cut. I KNOW IT"! And she was right on the money. She actually LISTENED to me when in the past I have gotten stylists who let their ego get in the way and took over my hair, completely disregarding what I had asked for. TIP: Before arriving I had decided to tell Sarah how I was feeling at that moment in my life. What my mood had been and the changes I wanted to make. She chose a cut that made me feel like a different person as I walked back out into the big world. I now feel more in control. I feel powerful and sexy with a bit of sassy on the side! My husband-to-be complimented me the minute I walked in the door and that really gave me the affirmation that I needed as most men need to be told that something is different about yourself! I have one of the most important days of my life coming up - my wedding day - and there is no way that Sarah won't be an integral part of it! Seriously, Sarah found her calling in life and that is to help people to feel their best and we all could use that during these challenging times. Go to The Red Chair, you won't regret it! Everyone deserves to feel beautiful! FYI: The salon is darling. Very fun to look around at and very clean. She has waxing, nail services and is incorporating massage into the mix. And the cost, next to nothing! I have paid four times as much. So worth it that I think she should raise her prices! And I am on disability, unable to work. Now that says a lot!

The confirmation of my appt was almost instant too. I met Mariam and she was spot on what I needed this evening. She asked lots of questions about how I like my hair, what I use on it, what I am looking for, etc. I'm a low maintenance hair person but still appreciated all her ideas and suggestions for how to work with what I have. We did a cut, wash, dry and style for a definitely way too reasonable price compared to similar salons downtown. I definitely recommend seeing her for any hair needs.

Even though East Vancouver is quite a drive for me I will follow her wherever she goes. She is extremely knowledgeable on products and she creates time in her busy schedule to teach classes for other salons on techniques and new products on the market. She is very educated and I'm always impressed with her knowledge! Sarah is attentive and understanding whenever I'm interested in a new style yet she is willing to tell me if it will not be right for me. I appreciate her knowledge and opinion. I am always inspired by her excitement for her customers well being and that she is certainly on the cutting-edge in this ever growing industry. No pun intended.

This was kind of a frustrating experience for me. I have (or, I used to have) really long thick…read morehair, which was pretty overgrown by the time I made it here. I think the stylist and I might have had a miscommunication because I asked for her to put more layers in my hair and clean up my bangs. She asked if she could cut off a little bit of length because of my split ends, and I said that was fine. But when I walked out she'd cut off a good four inches, and the layers were barely there. The ends of my hair are really boxy, blunt, and heavy now, but I'm afraid to go anywhere to fix it because I don't want to lose even more length. I hate to leave a negative review because this was a really nice place and the stylist was really kind but I'm so sad about my hair. I look like Lord Farquaad.

All in all, great for the price (signature was $48 base price, additional fees depending on type of nail polish and design).
