Dishonest, Hostile, and Unprofessional I came in simply asking for a quote on the warning lights that came up on my dashboard. I made it very clear I did not want any work done without approval. Immediately, I was lied to and told I needed oil changes four times a year (completely false for my driving habits and my vehicle). The quote they then gave me for the diagnosis alone was absurdly inflated ($230 for a basic diagnosis I later found elsewhere for a fraction of the cost). When I politely declined and asked them only to refill and test my antifreeze, they told me their mechanic had "accidentally" gone ahead and performed some of the diagnostic/repair work anyway--and then tried to charge me $90 for it. When I questioned why they would perform unauthorized work, the manager became hostile, accused me of refusing to pay for services (I never refused to pay for the antifreeze and I respectfully declined the quote given, I didn't make the mistake of completing unauthorized work), and even threatened to hold my car hostage. He hung up on me, then called back angrily, sarcastically asking if he should "take the antifreeze out." When I picked up my car, he acted cordial as if nothing happened. I paid for the antifreeze as agreed, but the dashboard lights were not fixed (contrary to what he claimed - lies upon lies). To make matters worse, my receipt was falsified--it stated I "refused to pay for diagnostic" ($250, not even the quoted $230 - and they completed the diagnosis without authorization), banned me from the shop, and stated I "refused to pay for anything after diagnosis". This was the most gaslighting, dishonest, and unprofessional experience I've ever had at an established business. I used to recommend this business, but after being lied to, threatened, and falsely accused, I strongly urge anyone reading this to stay far away. Overcharge make mistakes don't take accountability. If you bring your own parts charges you like you did not cheating people out of money.

Fine Tune is the best place to bring your car for mechanic work, routine oil changes or inspections. Larry and his staff are just wonderful. They have never, ever tried to get over on me. Larry and his brother even came to my house to help me and get my car because it needed a new starter! I am 100% totally satisfied. I always bring my car to Fine Tune. Larry and his team at Fine Tune Auto Repair deserve an amazing review which they are getting. When I got my car (2014 Mercedes Benz E350) into a minor accident off the Jackie Roberson Expressway in Brooklyn, Larry and his team at Fine Tune Auto Repair went way above and beyond what I expected out of an auto repair shop. I initially stopped by Fine Tune Auto Repair because I heard nothing but good things about them based on my experience with them I definitely agree. The accident put some scratches around the passenger side of the vehicle, dinted one rim and scratched another causing enough damage to justify the filing of an insurance claim. Nationwide asked that I take my car to one of their adjusters to be inspected then I can take it to any repair facility but Larry was able to call Nationwide and have them send an adjuster to his shop, saving me a good amount of time. It only got better from there. Those scratches look good like they were never there and I received two brand new rims, if you are familiar with the car model you know they cost a pretty penny. I'm not exaggerating when I say that my car looks the best that she's ever looked. read more

Do not go here for NY state emission inspection. They will recommend stuff from the inspection list that needs change and they do it right away without asking for your permission (I.e. windshield wipers). They are only $15 minimum and they charged me $55. read more
