My first show at the Fine Line might be my last. This was a venue I hadn't gotten around to seeing a show at and was excited to pay a visit. While the show was excellent, the cramped space, and hazardous exit made for a not so enjoyable evening. There seems to be one entrance and one exit, and if in case of emergency, we're all doomed. Makes for an intimate show experience, but the thought of returning makes me anxious. Might not be on my show rotation after all.

Another one of Minnesota's great concert venues! This is owned by the first Avenue circuit so expect similar quality service and drinks as their other venues. We were able to get our ID's checked, through security and into the show in under a minute a very efficient security. Service isn't necessarily friendly but focused on crowd control and keeping things moving. Drinks were available including a large variety of liquor and beer. Expect to pay more than your average bar but not quite stadium pricing. The floor is wood so it's less painful than some of the concrete floor venues for long term standing but can get slippery quick as drinks are spilled during the show. Acoustics are great however and due it's slightly smaller size, almost everywhere in the venue has a good vantage point to see. The crowd was very well behaved and if you weren't aware this place offers two free tickets to any show on the day of your birthday, very cute way to give back to the community. We will be back!

I recently visited Fine Line Music Café for the first time to see the New Power Generation perform. In comparison to its owner, First Avenue, this venue is much smaller but it does pack a punch. Similar to First Avenue, the main floor is standing room only with the stage and a bar. The upstairs consists of tables/chair along with another bar. In my opinion, the drinks were fairly priced for a venue such as this. I spent my entire time on the main floor up front near the stage and the sound was amazing. They obviously have a really great sound system along with knowledgeable people operating it. Overall I had a great time (how could I not with NPG performing) and I'm glad the venue enhanced that experience.

I have lived in MN since 1987 and have never been to the Fine Line. I used to visit South Beach and Daddy Rocks across the street (for you older folks) and I have eaten at Breakfast Bar across the street from Fine Line.. I have never visited Fine Line, until the day of this concert. I went to see Tobe Nwigwe... dope show. So the venue appears to have two floors. Smaller venue, but nice space. Full bar in plan view on your left upon walking in. Security was cool... not rude and overly aggressive, but about business and professional. I liked that. Bartender was cool as well, attentive and focused. They had coat check, but I didn't feel like paying for it. LOL DJ was live... i forgot his name. Ooops... Restrooms were clean and in the far back, past the stage. I enjoyed the venue and how it was run. It was a little too hot in there and I LOOOVED that they opened the door and let some cold air in for us....idk if it was intentional, not for us, for them, wahtever... we needed it. LOL

This was my first time coming here and it was great! We went to see Marc Rebillet and it was one of the funniest, most entetaining shows we have been too. Tickets were only $15 plus some extra fees, so affordable. It was sold out. Although it is a smaller venue, I didn't feel too packed in there like some sold out shows at other venues I have been too. And it was really easy to get in and get a drink at the bar. Not much waiting at all. We were allowed both downstairs and upstairs and never had issues with sound quality or views. Bathrooms were nice and of course, no waiting for that either. Parking was the only difficult thing. We did have to park a ways down at a meter but the weather was nice anyways.

Overpriced drinks to watch garage bands. I'm sure headliners are better than the four warmups in front of them, but who can wait that long?

It happened to be a Marvin Gaye Tribute night, which was fine by me as I love me some some Marvin Gaye. If you are from the Bay Area, this place is like Yoshi's. I got there early and got the table my colleague picked was up stairs and a good view. Our server was great. There is a little coaster that is at the table that you can turn over for service or not if you don't want to be disturbed while watching the show. I ordered my food while waiting as I know there were two showing and I kind to eat or have most of my food eaten so I can enjoy the show. I started off with the jalapeno bacon wrapped poppers and the focaccia bread. the popper were not big and bulky and had a great smokey flavor to the bacon, which were probably put the on grill and not pan or oven cooked. I'm not a big bread person, but when I am out I'll usually eat and the foccacio was great and I needed to soak up the wine I was having with my food. For the main course I got the Shrimp and Grits, because it's a jazz club and southern joint. Oh my they were good. Just the right amount of spice to the gravy. The music was also great and the ambiance was really good too. I think I'll be heading to Yoshis a little more as it's been years that I've been to a venue like this. A chill way to end the conference week.

I recommend pre booking the valet for $15. Then you check in at the front table and someone takes you to your table. For first times be aware some tables are communal. The food here is just alright. We had the chicken sandwich with fries. It was fine but nothing to write home about. As for the shows we have never had a bad show here. The performer's always are into the show and we have left happy with the performance and sound quality.

It was a beautiful way to lose my virginity to this venue. Metal with actual raw pieces of meat and fake blood. My teenage self was on the road to having ringing in my later years. Biggest name for me? Jane's Addiction before they moved to the Main Room and that Lala Palooza thing. Hell, the pretenders played there in 2023 as a warmup place to kick off their big tour and to get close to fans. How kick ass is that? The place holds 250 people. 250! Think about that. Nirvana also played that room before they blew up. The last amazing show I saw there was Melissa Carper in the late summer of 2024. Three piece band. A fiddle player, Melissa on a standup base and a dude strumming on a hollow body. It was one of those shows where the audience was there for the music and there was no chit chat. The music was beautiful and I was rocking ear plugs, even though they weren't really needed for that show. It was f'n beautiful. I can't believe I'm only associated with two photos (at the writing of this review) and I will be correcting that. Cross over between the Main Room is now kind of a pain in the ass as people typically don't do it and staff are a little in the muck but it is what it is. If you can see a show there, do it.

Incredible Art Deco interior that will occupy your mind while you are waiting in quiet desperation for the act you came to see. The seats are extremely tight, not much leg room and a bit uncomfortable after a while. I feel like the guides weren't very helpful at getting people to their seats. I I'm still not sure where they label the sections, I had to ask several people and that made some other people realize they were in the wrong seats/section. The lobby opens 1 hr before the show but the doors to be seated don't open until 30 min prior. I suggest getting there 15-20 min before the show starts for smoother entry. You will still have time to grab a drink and find your seats without the hassle of the pre show crowd. It was so chaotic. The drinks are spendy for what you get but they don't take tips so I guess it somewhat evens out. You can request a lid for your drink which for me is a must in these crowded spaces. Not my fav theatre but the if there's a play I'd like to see, I'd go here!

This business is refusing to take any kind of accountability for this, but yet it keeps occurring. Overcrowded (which is great for the bands playing) but extremely hot and uncomfortable for everyone else. No chance at getting drinks at the bar. 2nd time- we seen them advertising 'Family Feud' game night so stopped in. Maybe 3-4 groups of people at the bar at the time. We played 3 out of 3 rounds they had. We won 2 and lost one of I remember right. We played for free drinks and shots. Even when we lost we got free shots, which was very nice. We ordered food. Everyone got chicken - different flavors & habanero cheesecurds. The chicken was gross, not seasoned, had a very weird taste (the actual meat). The cheesecurds were great though. 3rd time- Went to pregame for a concert. Only ordered drinks. I ordered one of their classic cocktails 'Pourhouse Punch' it was horrible. Maybe missing the pineapple & grenadine. I know it has a lot of liquor in it but it was missing something. I asked if I could send it back and get something else. The waitress said she wasn't sure but I'd probably still have to pay for it (as in they don't take back drinks). After talking to the bartender she said she would comp it and I ordered a different drink. I ordered the 'poison apple' which tasted a lot better. The waitress came back and told be they tried the original drink I ordered and that they agreed it wasn't great. My sister got the 'Pourmans Paradise' which tasted tropical and fruity. From all of my experiences here I feel like it's an okay bar, I love bar food & theirs wasn't good. It wouldn't be my first pick.

I dunno, maybe I'm deaf (highly possible) but sound wasn't an issue for me. I wondered too if the band we were seeing maybe brought some gear because I really didn't have issues with the sound quality. Moving on... we had a good time really.. Mill City Nights isn't going to be the fanciest, nicest venue you've ever been to for a show. It also isn't going to be all historic like First Avenue. But it is a totally fine place to hang out in the dark and listen to some music. I did really dig the hard wood floor, which was worn in the best possible way. Fun for stomping around as you were dancing. We found the security procedure at the front door to be fine -- Carded us, patted us down not very thoroughly, took a peek into my purse and that was about it. The ticket buying procedure could have been better. Seemed to take a long time. But once we were in the door, no issues. I found the bar staff to be friendly and competent. Security seemed a little intense at times (like, who's going to jump the stage during the set break really?) But whatever. I didn't have to go to the restroom, so can't comment there. Since we were downstairs, I also can't comment on the balcony situation, except to say that whoever spilled a beer on my head sucks. Is it my favorite venue in the Twin Cities? No way.
