Man oh man! Grab a drink before you start reading! Wedding scheduled for May 2020 and several months prior, we met up with Chef Michael for a tasting and we were FLOORED by the food he made for us. Not just the quality, but the quantity! Literally just kept bringing stuff out and everything tasted so amazing! Then we broke it to him...we LOVED the food but we wanted a quirky little spin. Non-traditional wedding food...stations even. Just something besides the steak, fish, or chicken and then his eyes lit up! He seemed so jazzed! So we gave him what we were thinking and he had freedom to do it. Annnnnddddd queue Covid! We still ended up getting hitched on May 2020...in our driveway but we didn't pull any deposits from our vendors because we knew, like everyone else, they were struggling. So we replanned for May 2021. The missus ran the show so I can't say I know what was discussed. What I can say is that we've not stopped getting compliments on the food since the ceremony a week ago! Everyone thought it was the best tasting, best looking, and most fun time eating at a wedding in ages! Chef Michael and his team, through a world changing pandemic, never lost that vision for our big day. They are the pinnacle of what event caterers should be and I've been to a few catered events and I've never seen anything so well oiled, tasty, or presented so well! We held a big birthday party (over 80 people) for my wife's birthday and EVERYONE there said it was one of the best they have ever been to. We attribute a significant part of this to Eliza from Fine Food Events whom from the start of the planning to the actual party and then completion and clean up made EVERYTHING go totally smoothly and provided excellent suggestions, took care of the logistics and made sure that all the guests were treated like royalty. The food was sensational--we had four different appetizers, all served elegantly and consumed with gusto. The main courses featuring an Apricot Chicken that was a taste sensation and perfectly prepared and presented salmon accompanied by vegetables and a delightful rice were outstanding and very well received. Michael and Eliza took all the stress out of planning a wedding and answered all of our questions with professionalism and speed! They were very easy going and the food was exceptional, especially the beef wellington (my favorite!). In addition Michael also guided us with our options and recommended venues that can contribute the cake and flowers, all of which exceeded our expectations. Michael also planned a tasting with us so that we could really try the different culinary flavors he specializes in and worked with us on the different side dishes we could pair. He did a great job at the wedding as well, making sure we had appetizers and food during the photo shoot and provided drinks and snacks before the wedding to the grooms and bridesmaids rooms during the preparation. All in all, everyone at the wedding really loved the food and raved on and on about it (even today!). I would absolutely recommend Fine Food Events for any of your wedding needs, especially since Eliza is a phenomenal planner and really went above and beyond during our reception to make sure we ate (a rarity at most weddings!) and she always kept our glasses full! We used Fine Food Events for my wife's 40th Birthday Party and I couldn't be happier with our choice! First of all their professionalism, preparation and food was great but the service they provided was much more than the expected good service and good meal. Michael, Patsy and Gill went above and beyond! They arrived before the event and truly "took charge" to ensure everything was ready for the party including: icing all of the alcohol, unpacking the mixers, setting up the bar and keeping me updated on how many guests had arrived so I knew when it was good for my wife to make her "grand entrance!" I had my wedding in December and Fine food events was the caterer for the reception. They went above and beyond to make my day wonderful. They accommodated my need to talk only via email. they worked to get me bento boxes for plates. they helped me make seprate payments for the food. overall so very helpful. Not to mention the food was amazing. From the taste testing to the event, it was soem of the best food I've had. All of my guest were happy with the food and the options they choose. They also helped with the dietary restrictions of my guest, making it so that there was a gluten free one for my celiac sister in law and making vegan and nut free one for some of my other guest. Chef Michael did two events for us last week and both were excellent! Breakfast for 120, with fresh omelets made to order and an Italian themed lunch for 160. The food was so tasty, far better than typical catered food! The staff is very professional. They took care of setting up, having everything ready at the appropriate time, serving the guests with complete curtesy and cleaning up quickly. Their prices are good. We gave them a budget to work within and we were able to get everything we wanted and stayed well within the budget. This is a caterer who knows what they are doing! I was looking for a caterer for my dad's 100th birthday party, and contacted a few different caterers that had good reviews here. Christina at Fine Food Events was the most responsive by far, answering all my e-mail questions very quickly, so I decided to use them for the event. Before I hired them, we decided on the menu items we were interested in, and Christina arranged a tasting at their Germack Event Venue in Davie. At the tasting, chef Michael presented all the dishes we asked about (and a couple of others); the food was great, which sealed the deal for us. Michael was willing to make any changes we needed to the menu. Throughout the 3 months leading up to the party, Christina remained very responsive, and were very accommodating when I needed to make changes. On the day of the party, which was in a function room in my dad's condo building, the Fine Foods Event staff showed up early to set up, and were very professional throughout. After the party, they cleaned up so thoroughly that you wouldn't know they were ever there. They packaged the leftovers so that people could take them home. In addition to the food, Fine Food Events provided a few extra tables (most of the tables and chairs were provided by my dad's building), tablecloths for all the tables, dinnerware, and beverage service (including beer and wine). They also cut up and served the birthday cake that we provided. I was very impressed with professionalism, responsiveness, and food quality provided by Fine Food Events, and if I had to cater another event in the area, I would not hesitate to use them again.
