The jewelry was flimsy and kept falling out of my nose and I wasn't given any aftercare advice or told what size my jewelry was. I ended up just forgoing my nose piercing for two years especially because I worked at a place that was extremely strict on appearance. I got a new job that's relatively relaxed and decided to try wearing a nose ring again, got it halfway in and it wouldn't go, tried forcing it and it hurt so bad. I decided to do my research and came here to see if they could thread a piercing in for me or pierce it again if it was healed. Miki was so polite and friendly! She made me feel so comfortable despite having a few bad piercing experiences in the past. She first checked if it was open and it was! If just shrunk- she only charged me for the jewelry and I lived how honest she was about it! I feel like it would've been easy to charge me for a full piercing since it hurt for a bit so I wouldn't have known the difference. She gave us papers with information about our piercings, after care, size of jewelry, AND ALSO ASKED US TO COME IN LATER TO CHECK ON HEALING! No one has ever done that for me before I loved it! The jewelry she sold us was great quality compared to the ones I had in the past and it has a thick backing so even if I accidentally tug my nose my jewelry won't fly out. I brought a friend and she got 2 piercings from her as well, we came back so my friend could get another two done and we came specifically for Miki. She's just so trustworthy and professional and she actually goes out of your way to welcome you in and make you comfortable! I loved how she had a ring light to double check for veins since the other shops I went to never had that, it made me 100% sure that if I come here she's going to take my safety and my body anatomy into account. I'll be back in December to bring my friends for a bunch of piercings together for my bday :) I can't wait to see her again and if Miki is there MAKE SURE YOU HAVE HER AS UR GIRL!

Problems arose in a few days, it slowly became apparent the two piercings were either two close together or otherwise unadvisable. Whatever the case, it began to look like an infection was setting in, despite her caring for it to the letter. She reached out in direct texts to the tech and got no response. She returned in person and found a window sign that they were closed for some extended period leaving her completely hanging. So, we went to another tattoo place for advisement, and they (like myself) were worried a staph infection was setting in and she should both remove the piercings (rendering the $100 a total loss) AND go to a rapid care facility because it could become serious quickly, which she did. THR Breeze doctor didn't disagree, and prescribed several remedies, that thankfully turned it around in a couple more days. Interesting that the staff at the other tattoo place actually correctly guessed who performed the piercings as "we get a lot of their messups here." So, there's apparently a reputation building around this place in the community (wish we knew in advance). As all this transpired, she did not get a single solitary response from Daddy Jacks. STILL haven't. She respectully informed them along the way and left it open to what they would offer to rectify such a total and immediate pointless loss of $100, and they couldn't even be bothered to even reply or indicate they gave the slightest you-know-what about the results. We're reasonable people and realistic about possible outcomes, but the utter lack of follow-through or even basic caring about minimal satisfaction left us with the rottenist take-the-money-and-run disgust. The only "gift" she had left to show for was a stack of empty antibiotic bottles. Pathetic. Buyer beware.

Like many people, I thought I could just walk into a shop and ask, "How much is a sleeve?"--and quickly realized that's not how it works. A sleeve takes time, planning, patience, and commitment. My first point of contact at Electric Street Tattoo in Ft. Lauderdale was Nick, and he was incredible in helping me plan, design, and kick off my sleeve with some major pieces. He was patient, collaborative, and made the process enjoyable. His linework is bold and crisp, and I genuinely appreciated the hours spent with him. From there, Nick introduced me to Lexi, CJ, and Lyandra, who each added meaningful pieces to my arm. Every one of them took the time to not only tattoo, but to connect through great conversations that made me feel like part of the family. To this day, I feel like I could stop by just to say hi--even without booking a session. That's how comfortable and welcomed they made me feel. While working on my sleeve, I came across an Instagram video by Carlos Gonzales at Heart in Hand Tattoo in Arlington, TX (also known for his work at Elm Street Tattoo). His video showcased his incredible ability to tie tattoos together with creative gap fillers, making the whole arm flow beautifully. The moment I saw it, I knew I had to make the trip to Texas to have him finish my sleeve. When I finally sat in Carlos's chair, it felt like we clicked instantly. He freehanded with a Sharpie, which made the planning and flow effortless, and he was both meticulous and insanely efficient. If you can handle the pain, he can accomplish a ton in a single session! He tied everything together with gap fillers and larger webs on my shoulder and elbow, and when we wrapped up, I realized he had put the perfect finishing touch on my sleeve. This journey has been deeply personal. My inner-arm soccer player was my first tattoo below the t-shirt line--visible to the world. For me, it symbolized finally being comfortable in my own skin at 40 years old, making decisions for myself instead of for others. Every artist along the way has contributed to that story, and their work is now permanently part of me. I recently saw a video of an older woman explaining why she got her first tattoo at 80 years old. She said, "When I was a kid, I got stickers for being good. I've been good my whole life--I want more stickers." That resonated with me. Tattoos are my stickers, my reminders that I've lived, grown, and celebrated who I am. She has an amazing eye for placement and layout. Her line work is impeccable, she has the steady hands of a neurosurgeon. Katt is such a joy to be tattooed by. Her ability to take someone's description and concept to life is outstanding. I love her use of rich bold colors and keen eye for creativity. I also have several piercings from Diamond that all have healed very nicely. The piercings are all well placed for my anatomy (cartilage and industrial piercings can be tricky without enough flesh to pierce). They were able to help me find good placement and jewelry for my ear piercings. I'm a firm believer that you can get a piercing from someone with decades of experience; who follows all piercing procedures to a T, but once you get home it's on you to take care of it. It doesn't matter how sterile the needle was if you don't take care of your new piercing. The shop is always clean, well organized, and stocked. All the artists are professionals who take an immense amount of pride in their work. You absolutely cannot go wrong getting a tattoo or piercing here. They are extremely well priced for the quality of work you receive. You would be doing yourself a disservice to not at least get a consultation. I couldn't recommend Diamond more.

The vibe in here is chill and each artist has a private stall they operate in which really made me feel more comfortable instead of laying out in one big room. Everyone was kind and they DO use saniderm! I got a very simple piece with my parents birth years. The artist made sure to continue checking with me to ensure I loved the design. Come on by!
