Isaac showed me the options for my replacement and, once i picked one, put it in, which was great because it let me see how it looked before I bought it! We had a terrible experience with, Mady, the new piercer, while attempting to obtain a first piercing for my Twelve-year-old daughter. While explaining the risks of the piercing she asked if she would be swimming in the next 3 months, stating "You are risking an infection next to your brain." She then cautioned her on air travel in the next 3 months. We have a trip in four weeks. My daughter asked if that was long enough after the piercing. Mady stated, "there is a real risk of your ear lobes swelling due to the altitude and you needing to have your earrings surgically removed. I have been a family practice PA for the last seventeen years. I am well versed in explaining risks of procedures to patients and how to care for wounds. This language was completely unnecessary, especially for a twelve-year-old. I will also add, I had a completely different experience 2 years ago with my other daughter. I was terribly disappointed. This is a wide open and spaced out area. The only closed off areas we saw were the office and the piercing area. Staff was super helpful, even with coming in without a reservation on schedule and being so late. We got in around 2200 hours. Our friends wanted a tattoo so we tagged along, yet my wife ended up getting her nose pierced. The guy that did it was super nice after he warmed up to us. Was a bit stand offish, maybe because it was late, but he helped my wife and got her set up. He was super patient, making sure the piercing went in just the right spot to match the other one she already had on the other nostril. Was a very pleasant experience. The tattoo artists use the newer tat machines that don't make any noise. Just seems odd to not hear the buzzing. Tho after a bit, on artist ended up using one, it was a pleasant sound. I drove my Wife here to get a birthday tattoo... we get there and there's a couple guys in the store who greet her when she walks in. All seemed fine until my wife told them the tattoo she wanted. The tattoo artist (Daniel) was unprofessional and was not open to how she wanted it, then he proceeded to tell her it's going to be a minimum of $100 for the tattoo. We end up getting it and today we took off the bandaid to see the work Daniel did and well... the simplest task deemed a bit too hard for him to fathom. We called the store and spoke with Jason who didn't understand the gravity of the situation and informed us it would be a few weeks or more before Daniel came back "which is good" because "that's how long it takes to heal" he said. I DO NOT recommend this place and insist finding literally anywhere else! My wife is in tears behind this experience, bc now she has to go through more pain. ‍. She overly prepared( self pep talks, numb cream, the right type of letter), she was determined to make it efficient and as painless as possible. Prepared for everything but the artist.. bc who can mess up an old English letter? She walked in expecting to get a "definite" declaration of our love and walked out with "if". She can't unsee "if"... that's all she keeps saying between sobs is "Ifffffff". Disappointing is an understatement, do more research, as Jason stated.. "no one can be held responsible... they all just do they own thing"... Accountability is a zero right along with the talent apparently. read more

He's funny, cleanly, experienced, and will make sure you're happy with the result. He gave me 3 ear piercings in under 5 minutes. I got my third piercings on both of my lobes, along with a cartilage piercing. Isaac knows exactly what he's doing and it didn't even hurt as much as I anticipated. Got my nose pierced here a few weeks ago, staff was great super friendly and ready to answer any questions. MINORS! Make sure you have a parent and your birth certificate or you CAN NOT get anything done. The piercing was quick and painless he made jokes the whole time so it was a great experience. No infection and it looks great! It was $50 for a jewel stud would have been $30 for a ball. I'm ready to switch to a ring though but they recommended waiting 6 weeks for the stud to heal. Last night, me and two of my girls went to Royal one tattoo studio on a recommendation from social media from a lot of our friends. We had called ahead of time to make sure that they could fit us in that evening, and they said it was first come first serve and to come on in. When we arrived however (8pm on a Monday, well before close), after we told them what we wanted a moon phase to commemorate our latest girls trip together, we were met with some very odd remarks. Now, all of us are service industry, artist, and musicians. And on top of that I've got thousands of dollars worth of work on my own body. So I was extremely shocked when the tattoo artist very obviously showed some apprehension about doing his job, and called over another tattoo artist (older, grey hair) to ask if he want to do that, because it was clear that the first tattoo artist either just didn't want to, or thought the moon phases was basic af. Who knew at this point. The other tattoo artist hemmed and hawwed a little bit, and then literally said 'yeah no I just can't get MOTIVATED enough to do that'. I'm sorry you couldn't get 'motivated' enough to do your job. It was the most unprofessional experience I've ever had with an artist and we were deeply insulted. My sweet Daddy passed away a year ago this month. His birthday is on the 13th - in his memory we got matching tattoos of the wave length of his laugh. My Dad had the best laugh. Taylor was respectful explaining that the tattoo would possibly not look the same in 2 to 5 years because of what ink does on the skin. The lines would still exist but would be fuzzy. I came in for nipple piercings done by Aaron (I believe that's how you spell his name) I was extremely nervous bc of the pain but he did a really good job at keeping my mind busy by talking and the piercings came out great and he was fast with them. Her artist was no longer there but what I found was a shop with some of the best artists in the business. I have had 4 pieces done there. I have taken both of my boys to get work done there. I have taken their mother to get work there. I have taken a good friend to get work there. The point of that is that all of us together have had 10 tattoos done in this studio and we have NEVER had a bad experience. All of the artists are friendly, courteous, and helpful. The overall vibe is fun and entertaining for those of us with more work and comfortable and welcoming for those wanting their first tattoo. Currently, we see Taylor each visit. He has done 8 pieces for me and my family. I cannot recommend him enough. This studio has become our "family studio" for tattoo work and Taylor has earned our complete confidence in his work. My husband and I did a lot of research when choosing the tattoo parlor we would visit for our forearm tattoos. When out and about around town, if we saw someone who had tattoos that we liked, we asked where they got them from. SEVERAL times people responded with Royal 1 on Camp Bowie. So, we internet stalked them and looked at tons of reviews and galleries and knew we would be comfortable with any of the artists there. However, we got really lucky with Ryan being available to help us as walk-ins. My design was already made by another local hand-lettering artist, so it was an easy job of sizing it and just laying it down. Ryan does really great line work, so the quote I had put on my forearm was very clean and looked exactly like the artwork. My husband had a quote in mind but no design. He knew he wanted a tattoo artist to come up with something for him, something in the traditional Americana style. Ryan worked on a design while we went to dinner and when we returned, the draft he showed us was just perfect. He laid it down in just less than 2 hours. Ryan is a very chill, soft spoken man with a great story and history in his field. We felt very comfortable and had some great conversations with him. The shop, in general, is comfortable, well lit, and had a diverse selection of music playing.
