I ate it, but I was not impressed. I don't know how they became the Best BBQ, in Ga. My Grandfather would cook A Hog for 3-4 days and sat outside All night long to baste it and keep the temperature right. Brunswick Stew is watery, no veggies and the pulled pork is over done with white vinegar, too much vinegar. Should be Apple cider. That is not BBQ. Don't waste your Money, I traveled an hour to get there.

CLOSED - OUT OF BUSINESS - ???…read more Based upon the recent positive reviews regarding their food, I decided to try this place when I stopped over in Macon. They are located around 10 minutes outside of downtown, and it appeared to be an economically challenged area. It was a little challenging to find at first, because I didn't realize that it was simply a small building where you could order from the walk up window or through the drive-through. According to their hours online, they stay open until 9 PM. When I arrived, the place was closed. I called the phone number on the sign, and there was an out of service message. I was definitely disappointed, because I definitely wanted to try their barbecue. All signs suggested that they are now out of business. Maybe next time...

The inside was interesting. I felt like we were eating at a Quentin Tarantino movie set. In order to get to the restaurant several homeless people were out in front. We were hassled going out and when leaving. This was unnerving and uncomfortable. All of it was so interesting. I would highly recommended reading it if f you find yourself in Macon.

What I just ate at Satterfields was up there with the best of anything I've had. I didn't get to try my go to, the brisket, as they had already sold out but I got to try the pulled pork and the chicken wings and WOW. The pulled pork was good enough to not need any sauces. The chicken wings were out of this world. I got them dry with sauces in the side and these too were perfect and didn't need sauce either. I did want to try all of their sauces though and got them on the side. Every single sauce was phenomenal. The vinegar sauce was perfect with the pulled pork and wasn't an overly strong vinegar, honestly one of the best vinegar sauces I've had and I live in Eastern NC. It's a crying shame this place is only open 11-2. The two folks working when I came in were super nice and helpful. I'm assuming the man I spoke to was the owner and he was very appreciative of my business. If I lived within 30 minutes of this place I'd be here every single week. CARNIVORE APPROVED
