So far, so good. Similar to Becka C's review - Eric came over with an apprentice, when a 70+ mph wind and hail storm downed a power line and damaged my electricalz. However this did not inmediately cut power to the house so I was left very confused and stressed as to what one should or should not do when a live wire still supplying electricity is blowing/lying around the backyard - since 311 and Xcel were both, after long wait times, rather unhelpful upon hearing that I still had power - and apparently unconcerned that said power was being delivered by a downed wire. Sigh. Enter Ashley, who quickly replied after I sent a Hail Yelp message. Finch was not the only responding electrician who visited that day - so I am trying to detail in this review what they did well, and why I was able to proceed with Finch over the other companies. Ashley called and was very helpful in explaining my options with scheduling the consultation; having dropped too many hundoz to have a downed tree chopped, I was stressed about springing for the upfront cost of asking multiple electricians to come and evaluate the storm damage and competitively quote out repairs, but once Eric came (the last of the electricians) it was done. Finch's automated text update system also confirmed schedules, updated ETAs, and sent a brief bio and headshot of which crewmembers were assigned on-site. All of this communication was pleasantly novel to me and, I gotta say, despite it being mostly automated, it went a long way toward knowing what and whom to expect, in the wake of a storm while juggling many contractors' visits and feeling this-old-house-noob-gonna-get-exploited stress. Eric was very thorough, braving cobwebs in the cellar to make sure the electrical panel was not also damaged. In a very accessible manner, Eric was able to explain where my system could be modernized and brought to code, and he was patient with my (many) questions. Finch's estimate and explanation of needed repairs was detailed, and drawn up / sent the same day, which helped me get the ball rolling on a very opaque (to me) and mystifying insurance claims process. Hearing that I was about to tarp the house meter (which had a gaping hole where the mast had been ripped off) Eric helpfully applied some mystery goop patch instead. Finch helped me track my claim process (Id never navigated that previously...) and Eric accommodated the insurance adjuster's site visit into his schedule. Will update review as the work progresses but I mainly want to emphasize that in all (but not only) the ways in which prompt responsiveness, professionalism, and follow through in the wake of a storm mean that the early bird (Finch?) electrician often gets the work worm, I didnt feel pounced or preyed upon by this crew. read more

Core issues: lacking organization in scheduling, operating model bears strong bait and switch resemblance, apparent lack of warranty on services rendered, and poor customer service. I was looking to resolve three electrical issues in my house: diagnose power issues to two kitchen utilities (dishwasher and microwave) and fix a bathroom GFCI outlet. I decided to give it a go and bought a new GFCI and replaced the old one, but the connected bathroom light didn't work, and I was getting a red flashing light on the GFCI unit, indicating a grounding fault. Decided to call the pros and found Finch, a highly rated nearby company, on Google and Thumbtack. I used their AI chatbot to request an appointment. Someone from Finch called me the next day, a Saturday, and we scheduled the appointment over a three-hour time range for the following Tuesday, for a $79 fee. She mentioned that the fee would be waived if I hired Finch to resolve any issues they diagnosed and that the technicians could resolve some issues during the assessment visit. I understood this to mean no additional charges for the assessment visit and that they might even fix my GFCI outlet. I waited for the technician to show up on Tuesday, according to schedule. When no one showed up, I called the company, and they mentioned there was some confusion because the scheduling was done on Saturday, a weekend day. They apologized, rescheduled for the following day, and waived the $79 initial assessment fee for the inconvenience. This time, a technician showed up, even a little early. He looked at the GFCI and wanted to see the electrical panel. We went to the basement, and I showed him the panel. He looked at it for a couple of minutes and offered to fix the GFCI issue and diagnose the two kitchen utilities for $513. Without thinking, I agreed and signed the dotted line. Later on, I realized his offer was identical to what I had received from his company for $79 originally, with another offer to waive that for the rescheduling mishap. We went back up, and he shuffled the connections on the GFCI unit, which made the bathroom light work. At the time, I hadn't noticed that the red flashing light on the GFCI was still flashing every 15 seconds or so. We moved on to the kitchen and tinkered with the two utilities, failing to dislodge either to access the power source. The technician then pointed out that they don't work with utilities, except for power supply issues. I called a handyman I know to help us, who luckily was in the neighborhood and showed up within a few minutes. He quickly dislodged the two utilities. It appeared that both utilities were receiving power, but the dishwasher wiring to the plug might be loose. The Finch technician promptly rewired the plug, collected payment on the $513 invoice from my credit card, gave me his business card, and left. I later discovered the red flashing GFCI issue was still there and messaged the technician about it. He told me that maybe it's a bad GFCI and stopped responding. After 11 days, I contacted the company and explained what happened. They told me that the electrician would contact me. Two days later, I received an email from the company asking me to take care of the attached invoice, with standard legalistic language. Slightly confused, I reviewed this new invoice. It was for $0, with a description from the electrician stating that he had called but was unable to reach me and left a voicemail asking me to call him to resolve any issues. I looked through and didn't find any voicemail from either the company or the electrician. Still confused, I looked through but failed to find any new activity on my credit card related to this company. Perhaps the point of the $0 invoice was to hint at additional charges for further visitations; I'm not sure. Since the electrician knew what the issue was, I started feeling like I was chasing my tail. I decided to cut my losses and move on, but not without a public service announcement! read more

Although I did not hire them for the job, I was impressed by their communication, scheduling, and promptness to the the appointment, the technician was through and explained the job to me. Needed 2 replacement smoke detectors installed. Called on phone to ask price for that service. Was told they could not give a quote, but the women on the phone said she could send some guys out right away tomorrow morning. When Guy came to home he installed 2 replacement alarms which required him to stand on a ladder , remove old alarm and connect a new one to the wire. He was at the house approximately 20 minutes. The man was polite and did a good job. Tried to upsell and tell me I needed to upgrade my entire system in my 1990 townhouse. Guess how much Finch Home Solutions charged me? $780. Hmmmm, seems steep to say the least. In addition, when we called the owner to negotiate price he said the alarms could have been installed for free from fire department and then went into a dissertation on how his electricians are licensed and certified. Home owner is deaf. These alarms are simply for hearing people. The whole thing was a rip off unethical disaster. It would have been kind and more ethical to tell us about the free install the fire department can do. I did not know that. Stay away from this place unless you feel like being victimized. read more

I had to rewire my entire home from aluminum to copper. After getting quotes from 8 other companies, I decided to go with my 9th and final quote, from Finch. The process of scheduling was very easy, Amber and Rebecca were always kind and answered right away. Every single person who did work in my home was extremely respectful, kind, patient and efficient! I was previously warned about the amount of holes/repairs I would have to do by some of the other companies but it was EXTREMELY minimal with Finch. Not only did they provide me the lowest quote, they also did their work very quickly and were done in a week. Their office also helped me schedule the city inspection. Finch is NOT your home solution I pushed my appointment out and they still can't show up during the time I'm available. They claim it's due to other appointments and the weather. Fist day of snow and it's going to be a long winter. Also customers should not have to worry about other people's problems. Suggest you find a different solution. The owner of the company told me he doesn't care about my security cameras or other electrical issues I have here because he has old ladies without heat. So other people's problems become your problem if your a Finch customer. The owner doesn't care. read more
