Amazing brewery, they sell cans, you can bring in your own food. It sounds boring, but I just love their main Finback IPA release the best (they had like 6 kinds of IPA on tap when we came.) Dogs and kids are allowed and it's a generally festive atmosphere. They sell $2-$3 tasting sizes of everything so you can make your own arbitrarily sized flight of anything. This is probably the best way to enjoy their entire list, and even if you're not intending to do that, if you like your beer cold you can just keep ordering tasting sizes of the stuff you like so that it's always at just the right temp. It takes a while, but the Q47 from Roosevelt Ave would get you there. We had a rental car that day and decided to take advantage of the extended mobility. read more

I love this brewery! It's tucked away on a quiet street in sleepy Glendale, but it's pretty sizable and their offerings are quite good. Service has always been pleasant, and the space itself is great for just hanging out with friends for as long as you want (there are also board games for yall to play, if you so please). On some weekends, they'll do some indoor market things as well as other events. Their offerings rotate every so often. I'm a fan of their goses, while the bf is a huge fan of their IPAs. Beer nerds and enthusiasts, rejoice! This place is pretty awesome. Came here last night for a friend's birthday and it didn't disappoint. Laid back warehouse vibes with a stellar backdrop of their whale logo against a dark wall lit by some hanging lights and great marble textile...they obviously adopt the less is more belief and it works well for the space. There are several chic picnic style tables with benches (be careful if you're sitting solo on an end, it will topple!), board games and a binder of take out menus (yes, you can order delivery here!). Family/kids friendly and also allows dogs...can't get much better than that. Beers - so full disclosure, I am no beer connoisseur... I like my basic corona lights, but I can appreciate a good drink from the the elitist beer world once a while. With that said, my favorite of the bunch was their Land brew. Unfortunately, Land was not available for purchase, so I went home empty handed...WOMP. The other beers are unique in their own ways. This place is also IPA heaven. If you love sours, they offer plenty. 4 oz. tasters were $2/3, so it's easy to try as much or as little you want before committing to a full glass. Although I tried a lot and most didn't appeal to me, I can definitely understand why this place has a following. My husband was a huge fan and bought a ton of stuff to bring home, as did the birthday boy (duh), and others. All in all, great place to chill with your friends with beers, games and food. The star is for the beer, which was fine, nothing exceptional but the female bartender was incredibly rude. As in, seldom come across the like. The gate was up and there were people drinking at the bar, but when we went inside we were brusquely told "we open at 5". Ok, that was 15-20 minutes to wait, no big deal. I had to ask for a beer menu to browse in the meantime, was not offered one and the bartender reluctantly handed me one saying "just bring it back". I was thinking does she really think I'll steal it? Still, I said nothing. I had questions and was holding the hardcover menu open and you would think I had stomped on a Bible. The bartender barked "don't fold the cover back like that!" I was shocked but nevertheless ordered my beers, paid, then left without saying another word to that bartender. My companion and I live in the neighborhood, we just wanted a quiet drink outdoors on a nice afternoon, this person ruined it for us with her attitude and disrespect. Clearly, there's no culture of valuing paying customers or even of basic civility. We would've stayed longer and ordered food from a pop up vendor but we were so put off. Such a shame, it's a quiet neighborhood without many businesses so we were trying to be supportive of the brewery and the guest food vendor but I guess this server would rather not deal with the locals for whom she seemed to have nothing but contempt. read more

Been here numerous times. Very popular brewery and expect to wait in line for an hour or two for exclusive releases. Very large space, it's dog and kid friendly. Great staff. I really didn't know what to expect when I walked into this place. The place is brand new and is huge! They welcome you to bring in your own food since they don't have anything to eat there for now. I don't know what future plans will be for this place. For now, the place is very clean and wide open with some tables and chairs. The brewery has tastings of all different types of ales, stouts, IPA's and more which change regularly. They sell growlers to bring home and the tastings are $2 each which I thought was a great deal for what you get. The service was good and the beers were excellent. I can't wait to see what's in store for this brewery because it looks like it can only get better then what it is already! I hope this place will be here for a long time. read more

Finback is yet another one of this city's great up-and-coming breweries. From the light, easy drinking Fort Tildenist to the super hopped Moby, these guys are putting out some good stuff. They are not afraid to take risks - for example, a jalapeno wit and a plum smoked saison. The former worked for me; the latter, not so much. But again, experimenting and brewing go hand-in-hand, and it's commendable either way. The actual brewery is in a random spot in a residential neighborhood, not the most accessible by train. The last M stop is closest, and it's still about 1.5 mi away. (For the record, I did the walk, and it was fine.) Bus or driving (responsibly!) is probably preferred. It is a huge space with a shiny, marbled bar and mirrored tap list. If you've been to Tørst, it's pretty similar. However, it's an interesting juxtaposition because the rest of the venue is pretty industrial - brewery tanks in the back, open space, communal tables and plastic chairs. They have Cards Against Humanity and a few other board games, as well as menus if you want to have food delivered. If you're in the mood for snacks, they have free popcorn and sell chips/pretzels. There were about a dozen or so beers on tap, all available in small tasters for $2, half pours, or full. Many were also available for growler fills. Brewery was not busy when we went, though business was steady. Clientele was mixed, from young to older beer aficionados. Staff was helpful and friendly. I wish the location was a bit more convenient but if you're looking for a change of pace and scenery, Finback is worth the trip. read more

Finback brewery is tucked away in a mostly residential part of Ridgewood. The front end of the brewery has a bar, bench seating, and plenty of space to move around. During my visit, Finback had about a dozen drafts on tap with plenty of variety amongst the drafts. Finback has a reputation of offering fresh and quality beers at bars, so I wasn't surprised to see that the standards were just as good at the brewery. I felt the bar was understaffed; there was only one bartender who had to pour and clean glasses. read more

I'm a big fan of trying new beer, especially when you can go to the source. In constant search of new breweries, I stumbled upon Finback on Yelp and knew I needed to try it sometime. That "sometime" was yesterday as my buddy and I headed over to see what this brewery was all about. Finback has a very unassuming entrance, but the garage door next to it offering you a view inside (and of the little Finback van) makes it hard to miss. Upon entering you'll see the chic and stylish bar straight ahead with long picnic-style tables to the right accompanied with board games to play. There's also a room to the left with more seating. You can also peer into the back on the right to see where the magic happens (i.e. where the beer is brewed). We sat at the bar and tried a few tasters ($2-$3 each) of several of the beers. Each had a great taste and variety of style and flavor. My favorite was The Known Universe which was a gose style and was available in cans of 4 so I made the investment. We only had a little time before we had to go, but I'll definitely be returning for more from this awesome brewery. read more

Awesome brewery. One of downstate NY's best. Lots of delicious beers and a beautiful, spacious tasting room (with free popcorn!). Probably not a convenient location for most New Yorker's, as there's no nearby Subway access, but if you like craft beer this place is not to be skipped. The beer's are priced well and the nondescript exterior smackdab in a very Queens residential area makes for a unique NYC brewery experience. My friend Lou has been talking about this place for the last 4 years. I never had a chance to come here since it's out of the way for me. But boy am I glad! Fair warning, since the weather was hovering over low 40s, the brewery was a bit chilly. If you're coming at night, bring a jacket for sure. Street parking was very limited. That neighborhood is in itself residential, so it took a while to secure a parking spot. We got the SUMMER SOMEWHERE and ECHELON Yuzu. Both beers hit the spot. I always love breweries with boardgames. Although the board game selection was a bit limited, we had an amazing time playing an old childhood classic; Battleships. Overall, it gives the vibe of a locals along with craft beer connoisseurs. I saw a lot of people on untapped there. read more

Came here for a can release about a month ago. I'm used to going to Other Half brewing and getting there super early for the releases. At Finback, you can get there an hour early and be one of the first people on line. It's a little tough for me to get to. It's in a nice residential part of Queens, so I had to subway it and then get an uber. The tasting room is amazing. High ceilings, lot of space, lot of tables, and cheap tastings. The place is unheated and has 8 large Euro/design wood picnic tables to sit at. They do not hide the brewery vats behind the bar, which houses almost a dozen pencil thin silver sleek stools.
