Is that a cheesesteak with shredded lettuce? I thought it was absurd and funny. My hangry friend did not see the humor. We both agreed this really good restaurant is doing itself a huge disservice by confusing customers. First rule of selling anything is to make it easy for the customer to want what you're selling. We did ask our server their favorites on the menu. They named a few appetizers and said they mostly stick to the less expensive items. This is supposed to be an upscale restaurant, and I would expect the staff to be well-educated on the food. I don't blame the server for not forking over the cash for a variety of menu items. It's a pricey place. But don't they prepare the staff to answer questions about the food by letting them taste everything? I thought it was standard practice to prepare tasting portions for waitstaff. This restaurant is currently too tied to their theme. With a little editing, this could be a great place. I hope more people give them a chance, offer constructive feedback, and that the management is open to suggestion.

Conservations and laughter rang throughout the restaurant all night. The activity added to the nice ambiance of the busy dining room. The food was very good. I started out with the half and half cream of crab/Maryland vegetable crab soup. Very good! Was it the best I have ever had? Probably not but it has nothing to be ashamed of. Okay, so maybe the thickening agent (flour?) was a bit heavy but I enjoyed the heck out of that soup nonetheless. I ate every drop and wished I had more! My main course was pecan crusted halibut. OMG fantastic! A huge piece of halibut that was perfectly cooked and presented. The sauce was delightfully sweet and savory at the same time. I loved that fish! You know what else I loved at Knoxie's Table? Sarah, our server! She was friendly, talkative, efficient, helpful and really nice to be around. From the moment Sarah introduced herself, she showed us just about the sweetest disposition of anyone I have ever met. And she was a great server on top of that! Here, in Knoxie's Table, you could be anywhere. You are not on the water, there is no view of a dramatic sunset, you don't see flocks of seagulls agitating each other for a scrap of food. But you go to Knoxie's Table on the strength of the food and, in our case, the luck of having a wonderful server like Sarah. I will have other meals where I see the Chesapeake or smell the fresh air off the Bay. But I will never have a dining experience as perfect as the one I just had at Knoxie's Table. I knew by looking at it that this was not what I had ordered so I asked if it was albariño. He insisted it was but I knew it wasn't by the look, smell, and taste. He eventually came back about 10 minutes later with the correct pours. By that point, we were starving so we put all our food in at once to hopefully speed things up. We ordered the parmesan fries, pierogies, crab dip, and beet salad to start. We also each got entrees including the shrimp and grits, crab cakes, steak, and white fish (I think it was branzino?). The appetizers were all delicious - the fries were consumed quickly and the crab dip, although not very crab meat forward, had nice flavor. They provided GF crackers as well but the dip could've used some carrots or celery too. The beet salad wasn't bad either. The entrees came out quickly before we could even finish our apps. Our order definitely was not paced correctly. The flavor of my shrimp and grits was good though and it had a surprisingly nice kick to it. We also ordered dessert - a key lime pie and ice cream(?) if I'm remembering correctly. What I do remember is that the ice cream came out quickly and the key lime pie took forever. It was weird to have our two desserts come out separately and by the time the other one arrived, the first one was already finished, making it a bit awkward. I think if the service and pace of the meal had been improved, this would've easily been 4 stars. I'm not sure if our server was new or what but the clunky service overshadowed the quality of the food. I will also mention that the check came out to about $450. After a little searching, Foxy's Harbor Grille kept popping up as one of the top recommendations. Their website mentioned joining the waitlist online before arriving, and knowing it was the start of Fourth of July weekend, I figured a little planning couldn't hurt. I hopped on the waitlist before leaving my hotel and headed toward the harbor. I arrived a little before 5:00pm on Thursday afternoon in the middle of an absolutely brutal heat wave. Temperatures were over 100 degrees, and apparently everyone else in town had the good sense not to request outdoor seating. When the hostess couldn't find my name on the online waitlist, it didn't really matter because the covered deck overlooking the marina was completely empty. One request for an outside table later, and I was seated immediately with one heck of a view! My server was fantastic from start to finish. She was friendly, attentive and made sure I had everything I needed without ever making me feel rushed. For dinner, I ordered the Shrimp Roll ($21.00) with a side of black bean salad and a Diet Coke ($3.75). It turned out to be exactly the kind of meal I wanted after spending the day in triple-digit temperatures. The shrimp salad was outstanding! Big chunks of shrimp, perfectly dressed and seasoned without being drowning-in-mayo soupy. Just fresh, flavorful and incredibly satisfying. The portion was generous enough that I happily boxed up half to enjoy the next day. The black bean salad deserves its own little shout-out, too. Black beans, corn, peppers, cilantro and what tasted like a light, fresh vinaigrette made it the perfect companion to the chilled shrimp salad on such a hot evening. But...let's be honest. I had already spotted the Sky High Peanut Butter Pie ($12.00) while stalking the menu before dinner arrived. As someone whose personality is approximately 63.8% peanut butter, there was absolutely no chance I was leaving Foxy's without ordering it! A few minutes later, my server returned carrying what can only be described as a monument to peanut butter. This slice stood at least three inches tall, topped with whipped cream and packed with chopped peanut butter cups throughout a rich, dense peanut butter filling. It was glorious! It was excessive! It was everything I hoped it would be! And yes...I ate the whole thing. Even I was a little impressed with myself! The view from the covered deck overlooking the marina made the entire experience even better. Sitting there watching boats come and go while enjoying dinner felt like the perfect introduction to St. Michaels. Foxy's has exactly the kind of laid-back, waterfront atmosphere you hope to find when visiting a Chesapeake Bay town. One thing I also appreciated was how welcoming the restaurant felt for everyone. During my visit I saw solo diners like myself, couples, families with kids and groups of friends all enjoying themselves. Their menu is incredibly diverse, too, so just about everyone should be able to find something they'll enjoy. My total came to just $40.24 before tip for dinner, dessert and a drink, which I found to be very reasonable considering the quality of the food, the waterfront location and the generous portions. If I had one piece of advice, it would be to eat a little earlier if you can, especially during holiday weekends. I have a feeling this place fills up quickly once the evening rolls around. Highly recommend Foxy's Harbor Grille if you're visiting St. Michaels! Great food, great service, beautiful waterfront views and one seriously unforgettable slice of peanut butter pie. The view is definitely the best thing about this restaurant, but that's where the positives end. I ordered the seafood stew, and it was unbelievably oily--so much so that I couldn't finish it. The seafood soup tasted like something that came straight out of a can. Ironically, the Philly cheesesteak sandwich was the cheapest item we ordered, yet it ended up being the best dish on the table. The service was also very disappointing. There were hardly any other customers around, yet our server was extremely slow and rarely checked on us. Even when we were clearly trying to get the check, we waited forever. Meanwhile, we could hear staff laughing and chatting in the kitchen, but no one seemed interested in helping customers. To make matters worse, there were flies everywhere throughout the restaurant, and no one appeared to be doing anything about it. It made the dining experience even less enjoyable. Overall, the waterfront setting is beautiful, but the food quality, service, and cleanliness issues outweighed the view. We won't be returning and would not recommend it based on our experience.

Also tried the famous crab dip and it was SO good. Maybe it was all the butter but it was my favorite by far. I also tried their fish tacos which were citrusy and fresh. The views were amazing and you can watch the yachts pull up and boats go by.
