We went a day early to the shop (the shop is beautiful) to get outfitted and the next morning when we met Braden at the shop we were ready to go. We followed him for about 45 minutes to the Crooked River and he had all the gear set up for us. We changed into our waders, grabbed the poles and headed down to the river. Wish fishing was always this easy! Braden was a great teacher. He explained the river and its contours, the fish and what they eat and how to effectively cast. Even my girls got it pretty quickly with his help. We only took one break for lunch and Braden had some great sandwiches and snacks for us but I really wanted to get back on the river. He saw that and let me know that I could take my time and that we would get a full day on the water no matter how long we took for lunch. I got 3 trout and a couple of white fish, my wife got 2 trout and my girls got 1. I could have stayed out there forever but the temp was dropping and the family went into the car so I reluctantly left before getting yelled at. Definitely a first class operation fun by people who really know their stuff. Hopefully next time I can do a Deschutes drift fishing trip next time!

The last 3+ times I've came in with personal belongings that I was looking to sell or get a loan on when I have been in need of cash, she has turned me away without a loan or a sale and so obviously no cash due to claiming that the items I was trying to pawn "Don't sell quickly enough" for her to warrant paying the measley $0.30 or less on the dollar that is the maximum that they are ever willing to pay for anything and everything. The last time she turned me away, was yesterday on 5/14/2026, when I brought an item in that had a $250 used resell value that I was only wanting to get a minuet $40-50 loan on, which is only 1/5 or less of the items resell value, just so I would have a little money that night for fuel and to grab something to eat until I got payed from work the following day at which time I intended on coming back and repaying the loan and picking the item back up. If the resell value of the item is that much more than the loan amount and we are only talking a loan of $50 or less, seems like it would be a no brainer, can't miss opportunity for the store regardless of whether or not the item tends to sell as quickly as other items typically do. I want to point out that I believe that these unfortunate experiences that I've had at this particular store with this particular employee/ person is a reflection only on this particular employee and her lazy, poor work ethic, poor customer service, and lack of commitment to doing right by both the store and the customer on her part more so than it is a reflection on the company as a whole. Given the loan to item value ratio disparity in this example I would also say that the issue gas less to do with the possibility of the item sitting on the shelf for too long and more to do with her unwillingness to work or her willingness to attempt to get out of work rather.

Jerry offered products, cited personal recommendations, and was an all round EXCEPTIONAL customer service employee/ manager. My visit to Coastal was truly made better with his input. Thanks Jerry! I will be seeing y'all again soon thanks to him! Oh and the check out girls were not super thrilled that I cited Jerry as an exceptional employee at check out. They actually mocked the fact that i said he was great- it was condescending and rude, and he's their team mate?! Super unprofessional. Disgusting. Dakota and Carolina??? They were both named after cities or states.... They sucked. And they did kind of throw a damper on the entire experience!!! Imagine how disrespected I felt after saying their coworker made my experience enjoyable, that he was helpful, and being personally mocked. I left disappointed and confused after making a special trip before the 4th was over. After getting home and studying the brochure for another 5 min I realize that there are 2 sales on the black Friday sales one for Friday (clear) and one till the 4th (unclear) clever ad but but slightly confusing and made a wasted trip out on the cold. The staff member was very patient while I tried on nearly every pair in the store and almost every pair available was on sale (it is noted that in the past, staff found a way to *make* my preferred pair on sale). This store appeared organized and sufficiently staffed for a busy summer day like today, and they offered a broad variety of outdoor/sports paraphernalia. Everyone I encountered was friendly, the birds were singing, and my deodorant was holding up well I walked out of the store happy with a new pair of Bolle sunglasses (on sale as usual!).
