My typical is a seafood gumbo/bourbon chicken bowl & the gumbo is usually fresh, but the past few times it's been really soft (the seafood & rice), slimy from too much ocra & lacking in flavor. i also think it may or may not have given me mild food poisoning. i'm unsure if there's a different person in the kitchen but you can definitely tell. Now for the bourbon chicken... it used to be amazing!! but now i question if there will be enough protein, if they'll give me too many tiny shrimps (which have gotten smaller) if it'll be overcooked... The food here truly is great, they're just lacking lately. i'd really like to see a turn around because this was one of my favorite weekend spots but i can't continue spending $20 a person for mediocre food. Thank you.

The truck never moves and is always in the same parking lot, so you don't have to hunt and track it down like other vendors in Columbus. I'm a bonafide taco snob being a California Native and having strong Latine family roots and ties -- it's important to me that when someone asks me if I want tacos that they're authentic and the people making them are part of the culture the food belongs to. I'm not sorry. I was highly impressed that my spouse knew Mexpress had the authentic goods The owners/staff at Mexpress are Latine, I can order in Spanish without getting weird glares, the food is soulful and the presentation is classy but portable. They have Lengua, which is cow tongue -- the best cut on the cow in my opinion and omg it is immaculate. I get sad when I drive by Mexpress and they're closed because there is NEVER a time I drive by where I don't hope they're open for me to snag a snack; whether it's a single taco, some fries, a burger, whatever.

UA is 88% white and 0.252% Aftrican-American. So ENOUGH what? I like places where I can walk around and find a frankfurter in a bank parking lot--even if the bank name is a little schizophrenic. I like that Schmidts doesn't subscribe to that Hot Dog business. It's a Frankfurter! I asked for a Frankfurter with onions and the dude put it together in about 4 seconds. I stuck it in my pocket and used it as a handwarmer on the way back to where I was staying. I ate it standing by a frozen birdbath in the backyard. Plump, juicy, with just a tiny hint of spice that seperated Schmidt from Oscar Myer. On my next walk around the neighborhood, I'm going to look for a Bourbon Truck. Now that would be ENOUGH.

The odd: a smallish outdoor area exists but it is mostly brick and concrete with limited seating. Still, good for the smokers in your crowd. An around the corner inside gameroom exists with classic arcade and other games. There is a weird area behind the lottery machines that looks like it used to be solarium seating or some other groovy Seventies thing, but it now appears to be disused. The troubling: when residents of the complex are mostly home, parking can be had but it is a bit of a challenge as most parking spaces are full and people parallel park haphazardly all over the nearby street, I suppose because it is a private street and ticketing can't occur? In any case, this is a diamond in the rough. Other standouts have included mixed berry, white chocolate raspberry, apple cinnamon, and an amazing lime macadamia nut last year around Christmas. I could've done without the fries, I wasn't very hungry. But, they turned out to be very good: wedge fries, crispy outside and hot and potatoey inside, seasoned nicely. The burger was pretty darn good. The meat had good flavor, the toppings were fairly fresh (although I don't expect fresh tomatoes in Ohio in January.) The "Dash" sauce, I'm not really sure what it was; but the whole combined into a nice, flavorful burger. I was impressed. Service was super friendly, the burger was up in five minutes or so, the ordering area was clean. The dining area was clean enough, not much to it, some tables scattered around the edges of the casino. But still, a really good option for a pretty basic meal here.
