Top-notch facilities and a great atmosphere!!…read more I've had a wonderful experience at Memorial City/Club. The facilities are well maintained, clean, and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable visit. Whether for fitness, recreation, or social time, the space feels thoughtfully designed. The staff is professional, friendly, and always helpful. The overall environment is welcoming and well organized, making it easy to relax and enjoy your time there. Overall, Memorial City/Club delivers quality service and a great experience. I would highly recommend it and look forward to visiting again.

Legit…read more It's a pretty elite Gym which only serves people that work in the area, and it's kinda fancy but also kind of expensive which I suppose makes sense, because if the earnings of the people that work around here are anything to go by, then this is expected to cost a lot. But it does seem a bit elitist, and also I think the fact that it opens at 5:30 can be a bit of a problem, because if you work here at Memorial City and you start at 8, that might be okay as long as you only want a quick workout, but if you work somewhere else in Houston and you start even as late as 9 then good luck getting done with a 2-hour workout and getting to work in time.

I've never been much of a gym person but after loosing my love for running (I was that actual…read moreperson who ran one marathon and went "yeah this is really terrible") I knew I needed to find a new form of exercise for both my physical health as well as my mental health. Living in the energy corridor I had a lot of different options but I did not want a cookie cutter gym, I wanted somewhere that I could belong, somewhere that I felt the staff would get to know me and not judge me if- and when- I did something wrong. Plus I wanted classes- I LOVE group exercise classes cause I have no idea what to do on my own. So I took my then boyfriend and we went to MAC. We really found it to be a welcoming place. It is not the cheapest around but one thing I have learned is that I would always rather have quality in the things that affect my overall well being. I have made friends at this gym, I have been through Harvey and road construction with this gym and I always felt valued as a member. I've been kept in the loop- they do a fantastic job of hosting different types of events and keeping their social media up to date. And now through what is proving to be one of the most interesting events to happen they continue to show their dedication to members by offering youtube classes and free virtual classes. Every day they are posting and making sure there is something to do and a way to get a workout in even at home. This is far more than a gym but truly also a community and a family.

I go almost every day for Training for Warriors with Jeff, he's an exceptional coach who really motivates you (and Lex). Yoga with Guillermina is always calming and inspiring, and Zumba with Julia, Edie, Kevin is full of fun and energy. Felipe is super supportive, and honestly all the coaches are amazing. It's truly my favorite place to work out, push myself, and feel great

Are you a sucker for pain? You've found your spot if the answer is yes…read more Not really, I'm kidding, it's only kinda painful. Don't let the industrious look of Be Strong intimidate you. I highly recommend this gym if you're looking for quality over quantity. The owner teaches most of the classes and he has proven to be a real fitness instructor. You'll always have detailed instructions on the workout moves, modifications, and a continuous screening of your form during workouts. This ensures your time isn't wasted and you don't hurt yourself. There are classes as early as 5:30am and as late as 7:00pm. I recommend being all in if you join here. The workouts are comprehensive in that you get a mix of strength and HIIT/more cardio as long as you attend at least three times per week. The owner - Walter - makes no bones about this and he seems personally invested in each of his members. In my first consult I was provided a Zoom meeting to discuss goals, then a 1:1 workout so that he could gauge my fitness level. Last year I couldn't commit to three days per week, so he was nice enough to not take my money and recommended that I find a better fit. I'm happy to see Be Strong still operating post-COVID. The safety measures in place are strict, so be willing to following instructions.

I was sweaty and do not like sharing sweaty seats with strangers (I clean the machine before and after to avoid sharing sweat), plus I had seen her hog multiple machines at once. I told her no and she was incredibly entitled and rude. She then went to go get Ricky to get me to rotate with her and he was accusatory from the start. He immediately went to a "I'm the boss" mentality and told me that I need to be more respectful to the lady without even bothering to understand the situation. He escalated the situation immediately while being ignorant to what was going on. As manager, I would expect him to at least try to deescalate matters before picking sides. Instead, he tried to tell me what to do and say, when it was the other party who had been rude to me from the start. I got his name and as I was leaving he was yelling stuff at me about how I needed to act. I do not appreciate such false and inappropriate statements being publicized to the rest of the members and staff. Ricky needs to be retrained on basic client treatment. Truly baffled that such a boorish and tactless man is in management. CLIENTS BEWARE, this is the man that the owners refer you to when you have a complaint.
