The official address is 9801 Tanner Road; however, there is no parking. The best way to enter the parking lot is on Porto Rico Road and Sweetbay Lane near Carvardale Community Center. This is a multi-purpose park situated on a 10-acre odd-shaped land while surrounded by houses and businesses. There are large baseball field, basketball court, tennis court, asphalt walking trail, swing sets as well as picnic tables and a few BBQ grill stands. While there are a couple of covered benches, this park can hold many parties at the same time. The reason being my favor park is the parking lot and mature trees. There are a few designated handicap parking spots and easily accessible to Porto Rico Road and Gessner Drive. It's always cool to walk on the trail with the shady trees on sunny days.

On the weekends you see large groups of people playing soccer or softball. Within the park, parking lot area is also the carverdale community center for the residents of the area. I bring my coworkers here after work so we can workout and wind down after a 12 hour shift on a psychiatric unit. My niece had a great time. The park is well spaced out and plenty of things for kids to do. The only draw back is not at fault of the park,it is in fault of the parents of the children at the park. I had to tell one little boy twice it to throw a big stick over the slide. All in all this is a cute park tucked inside of Bellaire.

Thanks to President George W for moving daylight savings time few weeks early. I got a chance to sample the trail during sunset hours. Not too bad. This park is very spacious and no one will rush you off the track. Not sure about summer, though. There are a few soccer fields in the middle of track. This park has a secluded area to the north for natural preservation. I'd say don't go there. Those tall vegetation worries me. Who knows what and who you'll meet. Beyond the park is a cliff then a ditch. Looking at the map, this water flows down to a water project next to Arthur Storey Park, not linked to Braes Bayou. There are few downsides at Boone Road Park: restroom situation, lighting and track condition. Portable toilets don't bother me. It's better than no bathroom at few city parks. I have never used them, no guarantee they'll work. After sun sets, the lights from the church lit up south side of park. I only saw 2 other lights but the rest of lights weren't on. That makes the parking lot peach black. I was very worried taking off from the park on my first visit here. So, if you have a picnic at late afternoon, plan to leave before you can't see your feet. If you jog on the track, parts of this asphalt track are corroded and turned into gravels. I guess this park get retained from rain. Speaking of water, expect floods and puddles on the lowland areas. I saw ducks in "ponds" on a very rare occasion.

The only issue I have with this park is the SAFETY at the bathrooms. Why is men & women bathrooms right next to each other? There is no door to restroom entrances. Who designed this?!? Considering there are all ages on the field. Suspicious people wandering in front of women bathroom. There is security but they are too busy on the field watching games. I'm not quite sure if that's part of their job... I would not leave unsupervised children to go to bathroom. The children I was with reported suspicious behaviors with an unstable man roaming nearly going inside the women's restroom.

The pickleball courts are open play style: That is, they have a rack that you put your paddles in to be randomly assigned to the next game. If you want to play with your friends just put your four paddles together. Water and bathroom are located just outside the courts. It's a lovely community offering AND the courts are illuminated for night games. I stayed with some friends from 7-10PM on a Saturday and there were only two other groups there, so we got plenty of game time. Love having a free spot available to play!

Since it was already close to closing time at 8 pm, we didn't get a chance to go inside, but the facilities appear to be fairly new. There were quite a lot of people around, with families walking, kids playing sports, and people enjoying the different amenities. It was nice to see such a diverse group of people making good use of this public space. There's also a walking trail, so it's a nice place to bring the family or simply come by yourself for a leisurely walk, some fresh air, or a little people-watching. I didn't notice any public restrooms outside, though, so that's something to keep in mind. Overall, it seems like a great community facility and a nice place to spend some time outdoors.

For both outdoor and indoor activities, this is an incredible option for folks in the community. The space is substantial with a bevy of options that include a skatepark, swimming pool, tennis courts, an enormous children's playground, and lots of room for folks looking to exercise outdoors. It is a pet friendly area and a perfect destination for families, social gatherings, and even special occasions. Parking is abundant all throughout the property. The neighborhood center includes a gym + fitness center (#1), basketball courts, and indoor walking track. There are venue spaces for both adults and children for up to 25 people at no cost. There is also after school enrichment programs for kids, teens, and additional programs for seniors. There are volunteer opportunities and community development programming throughout the year. Because it's still fairly new, the facilities and everything are in good shape. Time will tell if they will be able to maintain it but for now it serves as an ideal resource for folks looking to get active and be a part of the Alief community. This park is near my hotel, and admittedly the more recent reviews were less than stellar so I was apprehensive. I was pleased to find I felt completely safe here. Lots of families were walking the trail with kids playing. Probably the only thing that's gross is there is some trash in areas, but honestly a community cleanup day could handle that.

There is street parking that was easily accessible to the front of the gated park entrance. The wooden playground was large and had 2 sections for bigger kids & smaller kids. The wooden train was unique and many kids enjoyed exploring it. There weren't as many picnic tables. I didn't see any bathrooms. Our kids had a lot of fun and I especially appreciated the fenced in park to keep the kids safe. It's close to many shops like Cloud 9 creamery and Common Bond. I definitely plan to come back again.
