Cold and wet Sunday left me wanting something hot and spicy. Tried this
place on recommendation from a friend. Noticed a few unusual items on
the menu such as pheasant and venison and a lot of fish. Ordered from
the set menu of three course for 9.95. First course is poppadoms and the
pickle tray. Second was a choice from about 8 starters. I had chicken
wings. Three of them. Not bad but nothing special. Mate had sheesh
kebab. Two spicy sausages of lamb. These were very tasty and moist. Best
part of the meal. Mains were Afghan lamb in a brown sauce and a chicken
in a red sauce called Punjabi taste, promised green chillies but I had
none.. Both meats were cooked but both sauces were bland and virtually
tasteless. They came with a choice of four rice or four bread. We had
one pilau and one garlic naan. We had a reasonable bottle of Malbec for
15 pound with it. Service was friendly and efficient. Open kitchen at
back so you can see them cooking whilst you are waiting outside the only
toilet. I am pretty sure our mains were bland because we ordered from
the set menu. I will go again and will opt for one of the game or fish
dishes. They have a website with the menu on and I suggest looking at
that before you go. Although I have called it a standard curry I am
pretty sure that is down to what we ordered. The menu does promise some
rarer dishes and I am hoping they will redeem this place for me read more
