Mezbaan is an awesome little Indian restaurant on the outskirts of Scarborough, they aren't competing with upscale places, but they make excellent curries and biryani. It's homestyle Indian food and it's rich and spicy.
The samosas are made fresh and are really delicious, if you are into seekh kebabs, they make a mean meat stick. The butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, nauratan korma, saag paneer and vindaloo are all excellent. The caveat on the vegetarian biryani is that it's just frozen veggies thrown in with the rice, avoid these limp veggies and just get the rice pulau.
Service is very good, and you can't beat the price, for two people it's usually around $12 each, and with a group, you can get a great meal for around $8. Take-out is very thorough, they pack everything nicely. Head on out there and have some good, homey Indian food.
Note: Do not sit on the right side of the restaurant on a sunny day. It's more of a greenhouse than a solarium. read more
