This is a scam! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR FILE RETRIEVAL FOR A DAMAGED FLASH DRIVE. I damaged my 64 gig PNY flash drive and I called this company and spoke with case worker Joey (EXT 237) to see if there was a way to recover my files. I explained there was a small crack in the plastic but all 4 contact points were still in place and not damaged. Joey explained to me about the free diagnosis process and this would determine if the files were recoverable, so I dropped off my damaged flash drive at the Rosemont, IL office. A couple of days later, Joey called back and explained that everything was looking good with my PNY flash drive and they were 90% sure that all files could be recovered. I even gave him specific folders that were extremely important such as my Calculus files as I am high mathematics teacher. He gave me a quote ($850) which was $150 more than the previous quote and said that I needed to pay a $225 deposit to start the recovery process. Joey said that once the files were recovered, I would be able to preview them online to see exactly how many files were retrieved and the state of them. He said he was confident about the recovery process and the company has a 92% success rate for file retrieval for damaged flash drives. I gave Joey my credit card number and was charged $225, the next he called to say that the flash drive's 4 contact points were damaged beyond repair and the files could not be retrieved. When I questioned how diagnosis could be run if the 4 contact points were damaged, he conveniently said he would have to call me back once to spoke with the technician. He did not call me back nor did he answer my multiple phone calls even when I called from different numbers. He finally picked up three days later and still "did not" speak with the technician and still did not have any answers. I asked to speak to a Supervisor several times while speaking to a VERY DISHONEST JOEY, Finally was put on hold for SUPERVISOR LEO which never answered, on a different call I was told that I would be called within five minutes by SUPERVISOR LEO, You guessed it I'm still waiting File Retrieval also called File Recovery in Rosemont, Illinois is A VERY DISHONEST Company Especially the Case Worker Joey and Supervisor Leo. I had a very good experience dealing with FileRetrieval.com: I wanted to present my phone's SMS record as evidence in a court case where one of my tenants is suing me because allegedly I did not fix a leak after she informed it to me. My defense was to show that I had a conversation with this tenant via SMS days before she called the city to put up a complain and that she did not mention anything about leaks even after I asked her if everything was alright at her house. This tenant told me that everything was alright except for the door lack at her apartment. I lost that SMS conversation because the phone data recycling, not because I deleted it. I knew the conversation was there, I just could not see it. I sent my phone to FileRetrieval.com. I paid $249 for the diagnostic process. I paid the diagnostic because I want it right away, but Fileretrieval.com told me that if I wait 4 weeks the diagnostic is free. Fileretrieval.com sent FedEx to pickup my phone from home, and within one week I received a big envelope with a report of the diagnostic process. It described thousands of SMS messages, call logs, videos and photos I had in my phone....Most important, this report point out that Fileretrieval.com could retrieve that conversation I had with this bad tenant. I immediately called Fileretrieval.com I agreed on going to the next step which is actually retrieving the files. They Sent me a USB memory stick with all files I needed, and a certification of authentication that is valid in court. As a result, I was able to show the court that this tenant never told me there was a leak. Therefore, I was not negligent in doing the necessary repairs at my building, and the case was dismissed. I also told the court the repairs are already completed. In my opinion Fileretrieval.com provides a good service to the public because we, the little people, could never force Telephone companies to help us to retrieve deleted files from phones. I had similar experiences to other people who have written positive reviews here. The files I was trying to get back were from a Mac computer I bought in 1997, those enormous colorful desktop computer (kinda see-through) that were made back then. When that computer died, I had it passed around to technicians and alleged 'computer experts' to see if it could be fixed. I went to a total of 6 people and none of them was able to do anything about it. I discovered File Retrieval online and I thought what the hell, let's try it. I actually physically went to a location they have in Miami and dropped off the hard disk. At that point I didn't know what was gonna happen, I was honestly prepared to give up on the files I needed because I thought that maybe the hard disk was damaged or something. I had a external hard drive that would no longer respond when connected to any computer. I took it to a computer repair company. They said they could not get it to work either and charged for the diagnostic. I then took it to the big box appliance/computer store, and they recommended I take it to a data retrieval company. I was near one of the local offices and decided to drop it off personally. The young lady that took my device was very friendly and informative. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY I paid $999 for a 3 hour turnaround service to tell me if they could recover data....they emailed me to the wrong address and it was 24 hours before I had an answer. Then they said they could recover data, need another $300 for parts to get the drive back to running state...waited 5 days (instead of 48 hours) for them to tell me they could not recover. They sent the drive back showing me they had NEVER installed any parts...the drive was missing additional parts... They shipped my drive to CANADA when I was told they had a local Houston office and although my drive contained sensitive government materials, they shipped it overseas anyways!!!! My hard drive was diagnosed by more than one party at it is physically dead and the chance to retrieve the data was debatable then I came across with File retrieval sales person was helpful he sent me a free FedEx shipping label and offered me a free diagnostic then it all came back to me positively with the capability of getting my data back with a very reasonable price. They made it and it was cool all the important data was there in the cloud, they sent me the way and the link how to download it into my computer.
