I had heard so many good things about this spot and was so excited to finally try it. It's a cute, quaint little shop with bagged coffee and a few pastries for sale. I ordered the iced maple latte, which was really good. My dad got the classic hot vanilla latte. I had a sip of his, and honestly--it was the best latte I've ever tasted. The vanilla tasted real, paired with rich coffee and the perfect amount of creaminess. The staff was friendly, and as a bonus, there's free parking right outside. I'll definitely be stopping here every time I'm in town!

My husband is a coffee enthusiast and he said these are his favorite beans to date! On our trip up last fall, we had to check them out. We got the specialty maple latte and the tumeric ginger chai. Both were delicious. It's a small space inside with only a few tables and can get busy, so I'd recommend planning to take your drink to go. They didn't have much by way of pastries or food, and not really anything for gluten free folks. They have some great merch and you can buy beans to take home - makes for a perfect souvenir! Efficient and kind service to top our experience off. We'll be back!

I heard great things about the Maple Latte and am glad I stopped in to give it a try. Usually, when I order a latte, it's too sweet, but this one had the perfect balance of coffee with a hint of sweetness--I loved it. The inside is small but very cute, with a couple of tables and bar stools by the window. They also sell artwork, apparel, stickers, coffee beans, and more. The service was quick, and the barista was friendly. I'm looking forward to coming back!

LOVED the coffee. Such a delightful little place with smooth coffee & espresso and awesome looking pastries.

Fika Coffee is a small shop in Lutsen known for their maple lattes as the syrup is made locally in town. The barista was really kind and made my drink with love. The interior is fairly small with two little tables and a bar near the window that fits about 3-4 bodies. There is a small section of apparel including snow caps, sweatshirts, coffee mugs, bandanas, and coffee beans. There was a really neat wall display of broom art and I enjoyed reading the history of it along with the artist from Lutsen while I sipped on my latte. Lastly, I learned from the house book on display a few facts about Fika. Fika means to "have a cup of coffee" or "enjoy coffee" with family or friends in Sweden with a small treat. According to the book, it's a layer more then the physical drinking. Fika is the ritual of enjoying coffee, a lifestyle and taking time out of your day to pause. Learning about Fika roots made me realize why I appreciate coffee dates so much. I hope to be reminded of Fika everyday. Lastly, we purchased some North Shore beans and plan to use them tomorrow when we have coffee at our sea villa. Thank you, Fika! I look forward to my return and am exited I get to take some of you back home to Saint Paul. Note: there are no reusable mugs to stay if this is important to you. The cups are recyclable, however.

Such a cute little coffee shop in lutsen! They say their maple is homemade from their literal back yard where they extract the sap from the trees, so cool! I ordered the maple latte and honestly the maple flavor was pretty subtle but I liked the espresso. The service was also fairly quick even though it was busy.

I came here all 3 days of my trip up north this past week. I tried the maple latte, iced mocha, iced maple latte, and their affogato! I really loved everything i got but the iced maple latte was my favorite. The affogato was also my favorite one that i've had before. It's such a cute little coffee shop, i definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Cute little coffee shop with coffee drinks comparable to the cities. It's pretty tiny inside so it's more of a grab and go spot but it's worth a trip. The baristas are friendly and knowledgeable. It was pretty busy with a long line when we went but they handled everyone efficiently. And it was worth the wait. This is a must stop if you are in the Lutsen area!

Cute merch!

You have to stop at Fika in Lutsen! The best mountain coffee I've ever had! I got the maple latte, as everyone says the maple syrup is one-of-kind up here. The only downside is the limited indoor seating, but the outdoor tables are a nice touch. The workers were kind, and I loved the vibe so much that I could have spent all day there. I even bought the North Shore blend to take home. Highly recommend!

This small coffee house in Lutsen Minnesota is very popular. Their coffee creations were very satisfying and deserve your business. They also roast their own coffee beans so they know what they are doing here. Although they sell what looked like locally made donuts, there is no other food options. The staff was friendly and very helpful to any questions you may have about your drinks.

We visited in a Sunday morning and it was packed. The line was out the door with people making their trek back home from a weekend up north. The line moved quickly and the customer service was top notch. All of the drinks are hand made so it will take a while yo get your drink. The space inside is very small so we opted to sit outside in the beautiful weather and watch as others came out so we knew when ours were likely next which worked out well. Our drinks were both very good. We got an iced mocha which was very chocolaty and a 704 which had the perfect amount of cardamom. Sometimes with independent coffee houses we are left wanting more flavor in the syrups but that def wasn't the case with Fika. If your up north, this place is worth the stop and the wait is the lines are a bit long.

The outside pulled me inward. I love this look. The inside was a bit more cold and unwelcoming. Not my favorite coffee or place. I ended up not even finishing my cup. This place just missed the mark for me.

I found the perfect coffee spot for me on the North Shore. Fika Coffee roasts their own beans on Tue and Wed so they are closed those days. So bummed they are closed for the days I will be up here. The gentlemen running the place were so friendly to their guests. They had some regulars but the majority were out of town visitors like me. My latte was so good. Rich flavors, creamy milk, and nice and hot. There is only one small table in the place. I sat at the window bar so I was able to enjoy the beautiful sunny day and see the guests come and go. I do plan on going back to pick up a bag of their beans. Can wait til Thur when I can get another cup of their delicious coffee. See you right at 7am.

They have coffee mugs of locals hung on the walls, vintage photos and news clippings, and incredible northern decor. We came in on a Monday afternoon in fall and ordered: - biscuits and gravy: my husband LOVED this - omelette with hash browns: delicious and crispy I expected bigger portions for the price, so was a bit disappointed in that as we were ready for a filling hearty brunch! The service was funny - our server must have been bored and really wanted to chat us up, which we didn't mind. I'd love to see this place more busy and more folks to know about it! We were the only ones in at that time. They also sell some convenience store items like OTC meds, non perishables, dry goods, etc. They also carry some local products and tourist goods. Come for the ambiance and coffee!

But they serve Caribou coffee and can make most drinks with espresso too! The staff were AMAZING!! The sweetest girl took out order and took care of us through the service. We even got a brief visit from a juvenile black bear that visited behind the building for some dumpster diving goodies. He was a huge hit from a safe distance on the outdoor patio. It was the chillest place. We loved it!

My husband and I stopped in to Cascade Restaurant 2 separate times during our weekend trip up to Lutsen. The restaurant was conveniently located 5 minutes from our lodging- Thomsonite Inn. When you first enter, you grab a menu, sit wherever is open, and order at the register which is a different set-up but worked well for them. Our 1st visit, I ordered the seafood chowder and fried chicken dinner which were both phenomenal. Every spoonful of the chowder was filled with clams and fish. The portion size of the extra crispy fried chicken fed me for 2 nights. I left there so satisfied! When we came back for breakfast, I had another delicious meal of the avocado toast with balsamic glaze. I would definitely come back here for the delicious food next time we road trip up North again.

We were told they were at full capacity with a 45 min wait but then our kind server moved around a few tables for us and got us in. Very considerate. The till style ordering works very well as it gives everyone a chance to order when they are ready, removing the frustration of eating for a server. (Wait was surprisingly short, pleasantly surprised.) Food was good! I had a house salad because I wasn't feeling like anything big, but it was a great salad. Side note- spent about an hour admiring this fish with my dad and heatedly debating what type of fish it is. Only to notice after all this time there was a title under it Came for the food, stayed for the fish
