Northwoods Omlette

Very nice little cafe conveniently located right off Hwy 61. Great northwoods decor and vibe. Service was good. Order an omelette. Everything was perfect, including the hashbrowns and bacon. They serve Duluth Company Coffee which was also excellent. The bakery items looked delicious, but trying to loose weight.

Aimee and I stopped in for lunch after climbing Eagle Mountain, the highest point in MN. Aimee had the Reuben - it was delicious, came with pickles and chips. I had the grillen chicken sandwich spicy, with carmelized onions; also good. Great view of Lake Superior from the dining room, and the cafe' had a nice feel. We were there off-season, so it was quiet, as was the town. Such a pretty ride up, and Eagle Mountain was worth the climb. Drove by the iron ore processing plant, which brought up Gordon Lightfoots' "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald'. Given that it was late November and a storm was approaching, it was very apt. All in all, a good lunch; there are other options there we'd like to try before we go back.

Fish tacos

This was a really nice place to stop - they have some great outdoor seating. The food was good, even better than we expected. It took a while to get the food but not terribly long. They had take & go items and made to order.

We've been coming to Coho for years and their pastries and food is consistently very good, however if ordering food don't plan on a quick trip, two days in a row the food took forever and the last day we waiting 50 min for a breakfast burrito.

Potato skillet and dos estilos omelette. So delicious!

Quaint little cafe in Lutsen, MN with a lot of character. We walked in at around 8:45am on a weekday and there was a line of about 7-8 people ahead of us. A testament to how popular the place was. The restaurant has places to sit and eat but the format is to order at the counter and take your table number for the servers to bring your food. It took some time to get through the line but once it was moving, it was smooth sailing. I ordered the poached egg potato skillet and my husband got the dos estilos omelette. Both were so delicious! We also split a cinnamon roll (not as sweet as traditional cinnamon rolls but still good) and we got coffees as well. The coffees weren't as sweet either but nothing a little sugar can't fix! Absolutely loved the food. It was better than expected and very comparable to food in the Twin Cities. The server who offered my daughter a high chair was very accommodating and kind. I'll definitely stop in again when I am in Lutsen ! Only docked a star for the slow moving line in the morning. However, the food came out quickly (within 10 mins after we ordered) so overall it was a great experience!

Sweet little cafe in Tofte near Lutsen! One of the few cafe options in the area, so it's typically pretty busy for breakfast into lunch and you may catch a line and a wait. They offer some nice breakfast and lunch options in a casual setting. We waited about 15 minutes in line to order, but once in, our food was out to us in 10 minutes. Our table got the breakfast sandwich, Turkey club, and clam chowder - some of the bread was fresh baked which was lovely! The chips were too stale to enjoy. The gluten free cookie for dessert was delicious! There are a handful of indoor tables, and then some on the outdoor patio as well during the warmer months! Again, anticipate a wait for a table during the busy hours. One of your few options for cafe breakfast/lunch and a coffee nearby, and they do a pretty good job!

My husband and I stopped in to Cascade Restaurant 2 separate times during our weekend trip up to Lutsen. The restaurant was conveniently located 5 minutes from our lodging- Thomsonite Inn. When you first enter, you grab a menu, sit wherever is open, and order at the register which is a different set-up but worked well for them. Our 1st visit, I ordered the seafood chowder and fried chicken dinner which were both phenomenal. Every spoonful of the chowder was filled with clams and fish. The portion size of the extra crispy fried chicken fed me for 2 nights. I left there so satisfied! When we came back for breakfast, I had another delicious meal of the avocado toast with balsamic glaze. I would definitely come back here for the delicious food next time we road trip up North again.

We were told they were at full capacity with a 45 min wait but then our kind server moved around a few tables for us and got us in. Very considerate. The till style ordering works very well as it gives everyone a chance to order when they are ready, removing the frustration of eating for a server. (Wait was surprisingly short, pleasantly surprised.) Food was good! I had a house salad because I wasn't feeling like anything big, but it was a great salad. Side note- spent about an hour admiring this fish with my dad and heatedly debating what type of fish it is. Only to notice after all this time there was a title under it Came for the food, stayed for the fish

I recommend this above the other options in the area for sure and I commend the owners for keeping quality and experience high while effectively having guests be "captive". FOOD: I've had the burger and their salad. The burger was simple yet very much met my desires. It had a well chosen bun, good tasting patty, and perfectly crispy bacon. Truly simple yet perfect. The salad was beyond the normal level of restaurant salads. The protein on it (chicken) was flavorful and not a skimpy portion. This was an enjoyable salad (not a status earned lightly). I really do appreciate the ownership here for their food choice and the chefs for their execution of it. SERVICE: friendly, efficient. Nothing too much to say here. AMBIANCE: casual yet not too informal. Perfect for anything (friends, vacation vibes, or a nice date night)! I do highly recommend this option and will be back when I'm next in the area.

Food: We started with an IPA that my boyfriend said was great! I got their house made maple cream soda. It was very light in flavor, so I wouldn't get that again. We started with the Trout chowder and holy yum!!! The flavor was so tasty! It had large pieces of fish and veggies! Definitely worth trying! We both got the fish and chips with coleslaw. It was super tasty! The fish was fresh and had a crunchy exterior! Their tartar sauce has a yummy dill flavor! I would buy a bottle if you could! To end we had the Kladdkaka!
