Very cute intimate restaurant, makes you feel like you're in a little European town. Michael, our waitress was great. We were concerned about the warmth because the inside had been reserved for a private party, however we were sat right by the fire & a heater. A couple of points which docked it down a star: - we had told one of the guys who was helping Michael, when he came to repour the wine to turn up the heater. He indicated that the propane needed to be replaced, however never came back to replace it, and we had to wait to flag down our waitress, where she checked and the propane was full, it just was broken: so one of the busboys helped her switch the physical heater. However the original guy who never came back, and not only that we had ordered a really nice bottle of wine: and we had said small pours to let it aerate and to really enjoy it. However he didn't seem to care much, and poured out the whole bottle in the glasses! And then he said well you can order another.. Not ok. - I am gluten free due to allergy, which I indicated at the beginning of the service, and had ordered the seafood melange but it came out with the two crostini's in the melange. Unfortunately there seemed to be a mix up, however they graciously replaced it however there was about a 15 min wait while everyone else had received their dish and was eating. So even though they brought a small salad for me to eat with everyone else, I still then had my main meal when everyone was finished. & the bus boys kept coming by to pick up the plates, but the rest of the party wanted to keep the plates out of respect for me since I got my dish later, however it started to become awkward every time they came over and ask to pick it up. - we never got water when we sat down; and had to ask a couple of times, and also Michael was the one who kept refilling even though the busboys seemed to not be busy. Food: - APPS: cauliflower and goat cheese fondue were AMAZING. A MUST order! - Mains: branzino was good, except skin was extremely salty, and I love salt. The short rib was lean; and not too fatty which is appreciated considering most short rib is just full of fat. The seafood melange was a must. Big seafood pieces, and bacon bits as well. The soup itself, was so rich and flavorful. - Dessert: flourless chocolate cake was very dry, and wasn't very elevated from a regular flourless chocolate cake you can get at the store. Except all the rest of the party LOVED the brown butter cake with whipped topping. Again, Michael was amazing. Our first bottle of wine, the cork broke in the bottle when pulling it out however she carefully rescued the bottle which was great considering it was Dueling Pistols! No read more

I had a gift certificate here through a Christmas gift, so 3 of us went for dinner. Our host/waiter was super friendly and greeted us very politely and sat us down. I would give him a good portion of the stars. The space is small and intimate. It's purely an observation and speculation, but the tables that ordered drinks and were maybe more regulars (they seemed very friendly with the other waitress) came in later than we did and got served much faster than we did. There was our server and one other, and we just didn't get anything served in a timely way-it was nearly two hours before we were in and out, and we weren't served our main course until at least 50 minutes after sitting down. The goat cheese fondue was excellent and the highlight, including the sourdough bread (but we found out from the waiter that the sourdough is not made in-house). My seafood melange was also quite good. The salmon was pretty good, but not out of this world or extraordinary. We had a sun chokes appetizer but felt we probably should have gone with the truffle fries instead. For the price, I have eaten in fine dining places in NYC, and this was not up to that standard for the price. So the value for the food was just not quite there for us. Good but on the overpriced side for what it is. read more

Excellent ambiance and even better quality food! A wide variety of dishes all including some hint or touch of fig and novelty. Amazing spot for a date or special get together with a friend read more

Our food was excellent as well! I enjoyed the salmon, and my sister had the seafood pasta. The drinks were so unique and blended very nicely with our entrees as well. We will definitely be coming back!! read more

Back again at fig! Had another lovely evening last night as my husband and I came for our anniversary. Cocktails were great, food amazing, and the service as always, impeccable!! The best part of our evening was the fact we even received a few complimentary scoops of their gelato to celebrate our anniversary. Will obviously be coming back again! read more

Always get excellent food and service. I love how the menu is always changing and always have something delicious and different.

This is a really cute, intimate restaurant with a unique ambiance. They have a covered patio with a fire pit that's also dog friendly. We both ordered the carrot soup to start, it was delicious. I got the mussels and the charred octopus as my main entree and my friend got the surf and turf. My mussels were a bit chewy so that was a disappointment. However my octopus was probably one of the best I've ever had! My friend said the filet was good but not the best. I didn't get pictures of the main dish because it was pretty dark and I didn't want to put my flash on and distract others. Overall, I'd definitely like to come back here if I'm ever in the area again. read more

We were looking for a great place to eat at San Clemente and we found Fig 313. The food was incredible. We had everything from the octopus, bone marrow, olive and fig, short rib, scallops, fillet and pasta carbonara. The service was exceptional! I love this place! Went last night for a mothers day dinner and everything was wonderful. I had the beef bourguignon which tasted great, mom had the braised short ribs, very tasty, sister had the burger, always good. We had signature cocktails and a flourless chocolate cake with ice cream, beyond good. Our server was Andrew who was super attentive, generous, and just terrific. The owner Gus was very nice and helpful to us. I have been to Fig 313 a few times and this place checks all the boxes, great food, nice atmosphere, and wonderful staff! read more

Dinner for 2 on Thursday night, first time trying Fig 313 and we had a very good experience. We started with octopus which was good (maybe a bit overwhelmed by sauce), the bone marrow was excellent and perfectly seasoned with a nice herb blend. Entrees were short rib and stuffed chicken which were both excellent with very well balanced seasoning. Previous comments regarding service issues were not experienced by us. Our server Mike was great and very attentive. I'm sure weekends are busy but Thursday the service and pacing of the meal was perfect. As others have noted the space is very nice and they have plenty of heaters to allow you to enjoy the intimate outdoor seating, which we did. With so many options in San Clemente for dining I think Fig 313 should definitely be on your list to try as it is one of the better meals we have had in town recently. A very solid 4 stars for me. read more

If this restaurant gave me the chance, I'd marry that shrimp crepe. I've never been graced with such savory goodness. The tuna steak was also delish! The environment was so romantic and intimate like my fiance. The ambiance plus the Michelin 3 star food created the ultimate dining experience! 10/10 recommend. Our waiter from Poland I believe was super helpful with our food choices as well. We'll dine here if we're ever within 100 miles of San Clemente. This place got me fully torqued read more

We were in Calif to visit our son and he took us here to celebrate our 55th anniversary and my birthday. It was LOVELY. The patio was so calming and relaxing. A beautiful atmosphere. The food was excellent. My daughter and I shared the special of the night which was a 24 oz boneless ribeye steak for 2 done perfectly with roasted asparagus. My husband had the beef bourgoignon and my DIL had the scallops. Presentation of each dish was beautiful and helping were plentiful. The appetizers were amazing. There was a great choice of specialty cocktails. It wasn't very busy the night we were there as it was mid-week so the owner waited on us. He was very personable and attentive thruout the whole evening. An excellent experience and we would definitely go back when we are in Calif the next time. read more

I have tried about every single restaurant in San Clemente and Fig 313 did not disappoint. Andrew, our server was very professional, attentive, and knowledgeable. We had not been here in years, and after last night I can't remember why. All the food; from apps to salads to entrees was delicious. Atmosphere lovely, service perfect. Already looking forward to going back. read more

Ambiance was great. Cocktails were also very nice. Our server was knowledgeable and overall service was attentive. We were disappointed that they had run out of sea scallops considering the already small menu options. The seafood pasta while tasty, the pasta was mostly stuck together and the serving size including the quantity of seafood was disappointingly small. Had to ask for bread. Overall slightly disappointed for the price. read more

I took my wife there for her birthday. I told the staff it was her birthday. Nothing special was done for her. I spent over $200 and they didn't even put a candle in the dessert. If you make the mistake of going there for a birthday dinner, be sure to bring your own candle. read more

We had the most amazing experience at fig this evening, the food and atmosphere were fantastic. The four of us shared a dish from every category of the menu and every dish was better than the last. The meatballs, pear salad, short rib, truffle carbonara, all of it excellent! You could just say bring me whatever off the menu and I'm sure it would be good. read more

Overall nice ambiance, would have been better if we weren't seated right by the road. I had high hopes after seeing the reviews here. We each ordered a cocktail, mine was decent but weak, my husband got some peach cocktail and it was no good. The food was unimpressive, our appetizer was inedible. We started with the fig and olive tapenade, it was so sweet, we couldn't eat it. I had the meatballs and the pear Gorgonzola salad, both were edible but nothing special. My husband had the chicken. He said it was ok, but my Risotto at home is much better and that's just from the freezer at Trader Joe's with a little doctoring up. You win some you lose some. We won't be back. read more

Food and service were great. Steak was off the chart. Eric (server) took phenomenal care of us and we will definitely be returning.

STUNNING ENVIRONMENT! We were throughly impressed with the atmosphere and vibe of this establishment. The patio is enchanting and romantic! Our server Andrew was a charming and delightful person. Great communication and explanation of the menu. My fig mule was so delicious and the flavors unique. We were blown away at the richness and decadence of the bone marrow appetizer. After our incredible main course we had the fig cake and Oh My Word! So good! Can't wait to come again! read more

Holy goat cheese Batman! I love goat cheese and there is plenty of it to go around at this place. Girls night with four moms, this was my first time here and we had a wonderful time sitting outside, eating and lingering. The restaurant did not pressure us to flip the table even though it was a Saturday night. Our servers were attentive and gave great input in the menu. Found a tasty glass of wine on the menu and friends ordered cocktails and mocktails. All beautiful and good. We started with two apps brussels sprouts (had fig bacon and goat cheese) and goat cheese fondu. I was a huge fan of both and highly recommend. For dinner I went with the burger since the ingredients all sounded so good. I will say it was fine. The french fries it came with were however very good. Super crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. The other ladies ordered pork chop (special item) and pasta carbonara that included pork belly on the top. I was able sneak a bite of theirs in and I have to say I had food fomo! Very good. Overall a very nice evening with great company. To absolutely no fault of the restaurant I did get hit by those ankle biting mosquitoes so just be mindful of your bare skin if you sit outside (good advice for anywhere right now from what I am hearing). read more

Absolutely amazing little California or Fusion restaurant in downtown San Clemente. We came in - a group of four and were able to get a table outside in the enclosed courtyard. We ordered several dishes to share all were very well prepared and delicious in their own way, but pork belly was "life changing", in fact we had to order 2 servings! We enjoyed wagyu burger with fries, octopus with garbanzo beans, pork belly, chicken dish and several deserts. Restaurant has a decent wine list and a good selection by the glass. Tips: Parking is street parking in El Camino, which could be a hit or miss. Fig 313 is relatively small and tables aren't large. Place felt kind of tight. read more

Great place to chill with incredible drinks. The menu is rather small, but my friend and I came for drinks and were more than satisfied. Highly recommend the empress on the cocktail menu. My friend ordered the calamari and thought it was spectacular. I only had the bread service but thought that was A1 as well. We ordered the chocolate cake dessert and oh my god it was fabulous. Highly recommend. Most importantly, our server Adam was phenomenal. He was incredibly attentive and always made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely would request him when I go back!!!!!! read more

Amazing atmosphere, then the service kicks in with Andrew's awareness of acknowledging my hubby's shellfish allergy. He was well versed on every menu item. You must order the goat cheese fondue, it was satisfying and delightful. The filet and 1/2 rack of lamb entrees did not disappoint!
