Fieldworks in San Mateo is a nice place to come by for some beers and chill environment! One of the things I missed most about living in the Bay is the weather! This place is busy! Best come by early to secure a spot! Service is wonderful! I'm not a huge beer fan BUT if you have flights then I am all in! A little taste of everything!

First I have to say, I love that I can bring my dog and that the staff is always kind about it too. The few times Ive gone they are so courteous and bring her a bowl of water. I'm not a big beer drinker as opposed to my niece and friends, but I do like the blackberry parfait fruited sour ale. It's not really sour. Especially in comparison to the aloha vibes sour. I also tried the froze which has peach puree I believe l. It wasn't too bad either. The one day we were there, there happens to be a smash burger vendor and they were very well done. So if you go and they are there, worth a try. There was actually a bunch of ceramic vendors set up along the side as well. Not sure if it was part of the breweries doing, but it was a nice to go take a stroll over and go peek at the goods. Everyone we've encountered here had always been friendly, nothing but good vibes.

¡Me encantó!

I really like the set up of this brewery. Nice seating and bar area. The beer is pretty fairly priced. The only downside is parking can suck.

I have loved fieldwork since its first location opened in Berkeley. Beer selection is creative and delicious. Ambiance at their breweries are always fun and chill. The hazy beers at fieldwork are my go-to. The location in San Mateo has now expanded to include a large TV and they play local sports games now, which is awesome. I wish they sold larger beer packs at Costco so it would be easier to bring to parties vs having to visit the brewery.

As a local and a guide, highly recommend everyone to stop by here. The service and craft brews are fantastic. You can bring your own food. They have a decent menu or you can QR code get food delivered from next-door. Lots of comfy chairs there's a plush leather couch, fire pit and outdoor patio their kid, friendly + dog friendly . Even cat friendly. If you're new try the PULP 6.9% citra IPA its their flagship. Smooth. Not bitter. Everything here is good. Ask for a sample try the double IPA.! You will definitely enjoy coming back here Time and Time again great for locals and anyone visiting. I've never had a bad time here. Very awesome staff. Fieldwork has several locations in the bay, originally from Berkeley , and new one in Sacramento. Cheers

The post-work rush is real at Fieldwork. We weren't expecting for it to be as crowded as it was since it was before 5 PM, but it definitely was. You should also come a lot earlier if it's a cold day and you want to sit by a heat lamp. Unfortunately there was only one table available to us (which we ended up sharing with another party) and it was in the area with the TV but no heaters, so it was a bit chilly the whole time. They have a huge beer selection; I'd definitely want to come back and try the customizable flight which looks fun. I got the Hills and Valleys + Jelly Packet sour ale. Both were good, but not striking. We opened a tab when we ordered at the counter, but then learned that you could just order via QR code at your table to which they bring out your drinks to you. The ambiance got a lot better as the sun started to set and the string lights came on.

I come here all the time to grab a couple drinks. It does get pretty busy on the weekends or on a really good sunny day so sometimes you have to walk around to find a seat. They have a lot of beverage options so you can definitely find one you like. It seems like a lot of families come here too so just fyi there may be little kids running around unhinged LOL! They also have a rotating food vendors so check their instagram the morning of!

What a great little spot. I've passed by here a millions time after leaving work and never stopped by here. The crew working are so friendly and the food while the kitchen is open is fresh and delicious. Great after work drink spot if you're in the area.

Loved the atmosphere and a great place to chill, relax, and have good conversations, play games or read books. Service was fast and loved that they have a customizable flight option (got to try out many of their beers and was relatively inexpensive). Food on the other hand was a miss (had their fries) and they came partially soggy. Service was also really fast and staff was friendly as well. Would definitely recommend, favorite drinks were their slushes, the Cow House, and Instant Vacation.

We are truly in love with this place. We live walking distance and love the community vibe here. Everyone is friendly and casual, and it always seems like a place where everyone relaxes and mingles. They set up a great screen to host sports watch parties, and we had green beer on St. Patty's Day. Their pizzas are to die for, and their salad is too! Get a slushie!! We take everyone who visits us here first. We love fieldwork!

We are filling growlers and have 64oz growlers available to purchase and fill

Does this place offer cider or anything gluten-free friendly?

Yes! We welcome well behaved leashed dogs in our beer garden.

Does anyone know if they are kid friendly?

Yes! Very kid friendly.

Yes. They have wine but not that many varieties.

Besides special releases, do they regular have cans for purchase togo? I want to get some for a gift

Yes

Is there a delivery service (e.g., Postmates, Drizly, etc?) that works with Fieldwork? Specifically, is there any way to order fieldwork growlers or cans to have it delivered?

Roam burgers is onsite. You simply place an order with one of their employees located at Fieldwork and they will pick up the food from across the street and deliver it to you. Otherwise, I've used door dash and have gotten Round table delivered…

I went to a going away party here over the summer and wanted to have a group come in December for my baby shower (everyone will be drinking except me). How do I set something like that up? And can we bring our own food?

Yes. You can bring your own food.

Is there WiFi?

Yes!

Does fieldwork provide dog water bowls?

They have one or two available.

Do they have TVs? Wanting to watch the World Cup this weekend.

No they do not

The space has a great indoor/outdoor setup, so you can choose between a lively indoor atmosphere or a more relaxed patio feel depending on your mood. There are also a few TVs around, making it a solid spot to catch a game while hanging out. What really stood out was their impressive selection--30+ beers and seltzers on tap, with a little bit of everything for all tastes. Whether you're into hazy IPAs, crisp lagers, or something lighter like a seltzer, there's plenty to explore. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to walk us through options and offer recommendations without any pressure. You can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do. On top of that, they also stock a nice variety of bottles and cans in the fridge, which is great if you want to try something different or grab something to-go. It adds a bit of a curated bottle shop feel to the experience. They also serve some light bites like empanadas and pizza, which paired well with the drinks and made it easy to settle in for a while without needing to leave for food. It's not a full restaurant, but definitely enough to keep everyone satisfied. Overall, this is a great spot to kick back, celebrate with friends, or just explore new craft beers. Easygoing atmosphere, solid drink selection, and friendly service--definitely a place I'd come back to.

It was SO WORTH IT. Such a nice little bar-section offering a comfortable space, great service, and a good selection of beers, cocktails, and even food. Located just next to Box, the Caltrain Station, and facing the Middlefield Promenade, this discrete & small bar is easy to miss. You'd have to look for Curry Pizza House and it's immediately next door. The room is bright, airy, clean, and well layed out. It has a big bar counter, and some smaller tables & cafe tables to accomodate maybe 20-30 people. It has 3 TV screens going on all day long showing local sporting events like Valkyrie's, Warriors, College Basketball, MLBaseball, Soccer, and College & NFL football games. It has tall ceilings, lots of airy space, it's bright, clean, and spacious for being so small. The bar is stocked with local craft beers, ciders, IPA's, hazy's, lagers, Pilsner's, Stouts, and ales. They even make good cocktails here. We happened upon Happy Hour here before going to a 7pm movie, so we had to try it. I tried the 1911 Cider, a Hazy IPA, and a Lager, while my friend tried a Sour, Pilsner, and a couple of cocktails like the Hibiscus Highball & Apple Maple Barrel Bourbon. Every drink was delicious & reasonably priced, esp during happy hour ($7 taps, $2 off cocktails). Service was excellent from the sole bartender. He was attentive, helpful, nice, and engaging. He serves excellent drinks, with a friendly & professional demeanor. He even guided us around to ordering food, and we got some small bites such as the Desi Garlic Sticks, Masa Chips, and the Onion Samosa. You can even order anything off the menu from the Curry Pizza House next door, we will try that next time. The food was excellent, fresh, hot, tasty, and served in reasonably-priced & very big portions. The garlic sticks were particularly good, and not even sticks, but equivalent to a small pizza-sized, such a great value for $10. Will be back again, this is my new favorite bar in DTRWC. I love the atmosphere, service, drink selection, small food bites, and most of all, the cheap prices, considering that everything in this area is very expensive. Can't wait to try more drinks, food, and spending more time here. It's very casual and bright, and doesn't have the feel of a singles meat-market bar, dive bar, or a techie gathering hole full of attitude & testosterone. It is very casual, friendly, relaxed, and fun here. They play soft modern music in the background, which lends to an upbeat & fun atmosphere, and it is a nice place to unwind, pre-game, or just relax and watch a few sporting events on TV while snacking on appetizers & washing everything down with some great drinks. 5/5, best new bar I've discovered in a long time, quite by accident. I never even noticed or knew that this place existed. Hidden Tap is appropriately named, it is quite hidden, but now that I know it's there, I'll surely come back every time I'm in this area, which is often.
