This move to Fidelity was such a horrible experience. I knew this guy , Joe Bartosic was Dishonest and contacted his boss and we had a special meeting. His Boss, Ryan Steward assured me that he was an honest guy and would make me some money. My instincts were 100% correct. I think I'm down 50K or 60K plus he sold all my Verizon/GTE Dividend Stock, that I have had since 1977 and was paying 2K a year in dividends. and Sold several of my Vanguard Funds without my approval. Vanguard Emerging Markets (VEMAX) and others. I'm not 100% what I am going to do but I am going to write a review on YELP , list all my problems and make sure everyone knows the truth. Shame on Fidelity, I trusted them and they weren't worth trusting. If you have to be DISHONEST to get customers, that shows what a horrible company Fidelity is. I have not even looked how much you charged me to move back to Vanguard. attached are pics of my statements that he refused to send me. Now I know why, He didn't want me to figure out he was cheating me. Fidelity kept changing my mail back to e delivery and I have the emails etc. I did get a partial statement in September. but then is when they changed me back to e delivery and they did it multiple times. I had to contact Fidelity directly to get statement to figure out how you cheated me. I got 3 months of statements. I made the move to get out of this Fidelity mess right then!. Was a customer since 1977 and you screwed me. Fidelity has is still holding 25K for more than a month. Give me my money so I can invest in some lower fee quality Vanguard products. Big pitch was how easy my life would be. Now I have a full time job sorting out this mess and now have to sell all these Fidelity dogs. They really screwed me. You cheated me and made trades I did not authorize or was ever told about. I had my Verizon stock since I was 26 and it was my first start to a saving plan. I would have never sold it and it is a dividend stock that pays quarterly. This Verizon/GTE stock was my first investments and were VERY important to me. Kind of a benchmark, marking my progress in investments. My losses with the Fidelity funds are the worst in my investing history and this all took place in less than 4 months. Please stay away from this company, it's almost elder abuse. When I contacted Fidelity Corp about the unauthorized trades etc., they gave me the song and dance everything was on the up and up. I told them that we should hire the best Polygraph Examiner in the Northern Virginia area to ask these two questions with the dishonest person paying the examiner. Offer still goes! They never responded to my offer. 1. Did Fidelity ever tell me they would be making unauthorized trades. 2. Did Fidelity ever tell me when trades were made, why and who authorized them. NEVER! Stay away from these DISHONEST people. Now it is a full time job trying to sort out this mess. Joe Bartosic is in the top of my list, in my 74 years of life that I totally dislike. I go to bed every night with a prayer that he and his team suffer the pain and hardship that I am dealing with right now. Today, I am going to have my taxes done, I am not looking forward to this since I am pretty sure because of Fidelity my Capital Gains etc. are really going to hurt me read more

Poor customer service. Have been trying to get my account into a trust for 6 weeks. Customer service reps are horrible and no have no communication skills. They are working from home, children and dogs in the background during call. Still not resolved. Took me 20 minutes with Wells Fargo, Capital One and M&T to accomplish the same task. Blow me Fidelity! Look elsewhere. read more

I needed a signature authorization on a form by "US Treasury Direct" for opening an account. The branch told me that Fidelity does not authorize signatures even for their own account holders even if it is the US Treasury that needs signature authorization. I am disappointed by this so-called leading financial institution in US. read more

I had a good experience here today. I don't bank at Fidelity, but a relative does, and I stopped by to show a notarized power of attorney and to get set up as POA on that relative's account. The professionals at the branch were friendly and went the extra mile to make the process easier for me, while simultaneously limiting my access to the account owner's information until they could verify my POA is legal and otherwise legitimate. At the same time, I noticed there were three or four other older patrons seeking help with resetting passwords and transferring money -- all things these patrons could easily do online or by phone. Nevertheless, the professionals at Fidelity were patient with each of these persons, and went through pains to teach them how to avail themselves of online services while simultaneously processing the requested transactions. Sometimes all one needs is patient instruction to learn the easier way.... Anyway: I had a very different experience and recommend you give this branch a shot. read more

One disadvantage of Fidelity at Tysons Corner VA is dealing with a different point-of-contact for everything that you do. It means that you don't cultivate rapport with any single employee. I invested nearly $800,000 in cash, at this Tysons Corner location, solely because I thought one particular adviser would become my adviser. But after I was signed-up and committed; I got passed around from one stranger to another and had almost no further contact with the one Fidelity adviser who motivated me to invest at this Fidelity location. My account was large enough that I qualified for premier customer service that included specialized trading advice. But it proved to be a curse because the Fidelity employee, who was designated to manage my account, had an intolerable personality; and he trashed my account with his choice of trades, which seemed more intended towards churning the account to generate commissions than towards earning money from my investments. In fact, his investments caused me to lose money, so I got rid of him. You can only trust any Fidelity adviser to a point. For one thing, they do not have a fiduciary duty to represent your best interest, although they won't tell you so, unless you ask. They are instead sales representatives, there to persuade you to invest in Fidelity services, regardless of whether any particular Fidelity service suits your best interest. In conclusion, depositing your money at Fidelity is OK. But don't rely on anybody who works at Fidelity for financial advice. Get your financial advice from an advisory newsletter or from some other source that is independent of Fidelity because a Fidelity employee is not your friend. They are instead sales persons, there to persuade you to buy Fidelity services. read more

Before doing any business with Fidelity please make 1 phone call to them it will change you mind forever! I was on hold for 3 hours today and never could get thru. I tried 3 different numbers found on the internet and no luck. Just try it. Google corp office and same thing just try it. Today is not the first time. Try it!!! read more

I had the EXACT same experience as review J.J. Fidelity advertises that you can come in and have a meeting with an investor to help you set up financial planning, retirement accounts, etc. But really, unless you have boatloads of money, I get the impression they really don't want to be bothered with you. This is unfortunate because I have a pretty good amount of money... that I just invested ALL with USAA! Fidelity, your customer service sucks. Unbelievable. I called this location as I wanted to schedule a meeting with an investment broker. I don't really know much about it, and I wanted to talk to somebody in person about my investment options. The person who picked up the phone was so rude. I asked about a possible meeting, and he said "just go online." When I mentioned that I need guidance as I don't know much about it, he said "what's there to know, if you want I can help you over the phone." What?! Fidelity is a good company, but jeez - they need to pay attention to who they hire. As a result of the rep's incompetency I will be going elsewhere. read more

I went to this Fidelity office last week to sort out affairs after the passing of my father. I worked with Amy, and she was extremely courteous and professional. Not only did she take care of everything and make it all as easy for me as possible, she also gave me a sense that she cared about the difficult circumstances that had brought me there. I could not have been more pleased with the service at this location. read more

This is such a prime location and they don't have Saturday hours. What a waste of rent! I just can't go there from Monday to Friday so if I want to invest additional money into my Fidelity accounts and I want to do it in person, I take it somewhere else that is open on Saturdays. The front desk service is poor. The people assigned to the front desk wear nice suits but could use a lesson or two in customer service, courtesy, and professionalism. read more
