While I appreciated the professionalism in communication, the overall experience fell short in several important ways. First, there was minimal human interaction throughout the process. At no point did anyone take the time to understand my unique career goals--whether I was repositioning myself for a new industry, returning to the workforce after a break, or targeting a specific type of role. The service felt highly templated and lacked the strategic depth I expected from a career consulting company. They did want me to submit two job opportunities, to get an understanding of the roles I wanted to apply to, but by the time YNJ completed their services, those roles are obsolete. YNJ emphasizes their move toward AI- and tech-driven solutions, but this focus seems out of sync with recent hiring trends and feedback from recruiters nationwide, who have voiced growing concerns about the authenticity and accuracy of AI-generated materials (https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/21/business/dealbook/ai-job-applications.html?smid=url-share). Unfortunately, that disconnect was evident in the documents I received. I did call YNJ to discuss these concerns before posting this review, but they did not respond, I'm assuming it is because they already received their payment. I had roughly five different hiring managers review their work, and none were impressed. While the general template that they utilize is unique to their services and adds a splash of color amid the monotonous pile of resumes, nothing really stands out. I purchased the Job Search essential package for fixing up my resume and I have to say I am incredibly disappointed with the service. They didn't bother trying to understand my job or what career I am looking for and basically just copy and pasted my previous resume but in a different template. The very few changes they made were sentences that were incoherent, repetitive (used the same sentence several times throughout the resume), and full of typos. No amount of "unlimited back and forth between the writer" is going to salvage poor and lazy writing. You're better off saving your money and doing it yourself or passing it through ChatGPT (which I am pretty sure they are doing anyways). I used Your Next Jump (YNJ) in November shortly after deciding to retire from the federal government. At the time, I had a 14-page monstrosity of a resume and no LinkedIn page. I got the resume package and the finished product was deserving of this long-winded post. Background: I was not in the market for career-help or a new job, I won the resume builder from a raffle id blindly threw my hat in for. Tbh I was more intrigued than excited by the service id stumbled on; my college alumni offers resume edits (glacial pace) and when I used to scour indeed & find a time sensitive post I defer to my coterie of whip-smart friends to review my resume/written products. The process: Immediately, I was contacted by YNJ staff assigned to my case with the owners- copied in the email. She requested; current resume, blurb (2 paragraphs) about me, 2 job postings that interest me. I was surprised by the constant stream of communication. Drafts: First draft, only thing reminiscent of my original resume was the job title/date,had a striking modern layout, crisp sentences, effective action verbs. They worked through 3 drafts to get my final resume. Every section had edits (tracked comments bar) requesting clarification or information. I had to ply her with information.They responded back with updated drafts 1-3days. In total, took no more than 2 weeks...I dilly dallied a lot on the responses. Takeaway/Tips: an engaging, highly personalized resume! I love the layout- seizes you in without being too showy. Although I haven't tested it in the job market, i've showed it off to coworkers and friends off all ages/stylistic taste and they love it. I suggest you allot time to self-evaluate your achievements in your previous roles and to ask questions! I was looking to relocate and change jobs. I decided to have my online and professional presence enhanced by using the services from Your Next Jump. I purchased a career launch kit and a 1.5 hour interview prep session. Within one business day after I had submitted payment, Tim and Tony got the ball rolling. Despite me working in a highly niche and specialized field, Tim and Tony were able to able to re-craft my resume to really make my accomplishments shine. After a few review sessions of my resume and LinkedIn profile to make it perfect, I had the Google hangouts call to go over how to effectively use LinkedIn, which was extremely informative. Then came the interview prep session. This was perhaps the most useful hour and a half I spent preparing for interviews. Tony went over everything from the obvious do's and don'ts to the more subtle topics such as body language, pace of speech, etc. We also went over how to answer the most common interview questions confidently, several of which appeared during my real interview, which I knocked out of the park. This is an amazing service. I was recently laid off and freaking out - during my job search I was getting calls from prospective employers but when it came to interviewing I would just bomb consistently. As an introverted and soft-spoken person it's really tough for me to try and "sell myself" to complete strangers in 30 minutes. Ugh. I would physically shake out of fear before an interview because I had zero confidence in talking about myself. I visited a hundred websites to try and beef up my interviewing skills.
