Bennette's Auto Repair is a mechanic shop on another level. I have done business with many…read moredifferent auto shops in my lifetime and in contrast, the service is literally like night and day! For starters, the customer service is consistently top of the line. If for some reason they miss your call, they call you back promptly even if you didn't leave a voice message. I've found most mechanics to be terrible at answering their phone at all. The ones that do answer are very short with you and seem inconvenienced if asked more than 2-3 basic questions. In comparison, these guys are friendly, enthusiastic, and actually helpful! They work with your schedule as best as they can and even recommend the best local businesses for work they don't perform i.e. auto body shop. Don't just take my word for it; do yourself a favor and call them; even just to get info regarding your specific need. From the initial phone call, you'll see what I'm talking about. Even more importantly, Bennett's Auto Shop is honest and operates with integrity. My very first experience with them was when my car started making an alarming rattling sound while driving on the highway. I was sure it would be a minimum of several hundred dollars in repair. Bennet made a way to fit me in the schedule toward the end of the day, took the time to jack the car up, and saw that a simple loose screw was causing all the racket. He was completely transparent, and even showed my husband what he had found. How many of you know that the majority of places nowadays would have slapped you with a large bill and you wouldn't even be informed of the simplicity of the repair. With that being said, we weren't even charged for the service. If you're looking for a place that you can trust, you've found it! This place holds themselves to a higher standard and they conduct business with a spirit of excellence. I highly recommend Bennett's Auto and I'll be referring anyone who is in need of a mechanic, as It's truly one of a kind!

Car: 2002 Toyota Corolla LE, 160K miles, 1 previous owner. Work done: oil leak, very severe $0 remove and replace valve cover gasket w/ valve cover replacement and PCV valve and engine degrease. leaking down the engine onto subframe components and dripping onto the floor. valve cover appear degraded from electrolysis. $1,456.32 remove & replace both CV axles. they have torn inner joint boots and leaking. $1251.29 coolant service -- had the wrong coolant in the car. how dangerous is this? $172. tune up: replace spark plugs, air filter, perform throttle body service, relearn idle, reset ignition and injection adaptive memory if done with the valve covers. $275.87. feels like the biggest rip off % wise lol total cost $3155.48. "Based on published repair-cost aggregators for a car in your Corolla's class, here's how each line item stacks up. Take this as a directional read, not a precise verdict. Valve cover gasket, valve cover replacement, PCV valve, degrease -- $1,456.32. RepairPal's own estimate for a 2002 Corolla valve cover gasket job (parts + labor) is roughly $344-$464. Swapping in a whole new valve cover instead of just the gasket adds maybe $100-$200 in parts, the PCV valve is a $10-$25 part, and an engine degrease might add another $75-$150 in labor. Even generously, a fair all-in price lands around $550-$750. What you paid is nearly double to almost triple that. Both CV axles -- $1,251.29. Corolla-specific estimates put a single axle (parts + labor) around $260-$400 depending on whether reman or OEM axles are used, so both sides together is typically $500-$800 at an independent shop, maybe pushing toward $900-$1,000 at a dealer with OEM parts. $1,251 is on the high side -- probably 30-70% above what I'd expect from an independent shop. Coolant service (wrong coolant found) -- $172. This one looks fine, even good. General coolant flush/service pricing runs about $150-$500+ depending on the shop, and $172 is at the low end of that. No red flags here. Putting it together: a reasonable independent-shop total for all four jobs would land somewhere around $1,600-$2,050. You paid $3,155.48 -- roughly 55-95% more than that. Most of the gap traces back to the valve cover job and, to a lesser extent, the CV axles; the coolant service and tune-up were priced fairly." Hopefully I can at least help one person in the future avoid getting ripped off like I did!

I don't know much about car repairs, but I felt like I could trust this place because, first, these guys don't try to hide anything. The mechanic met me outside before I even got to the door, asked what was going on, and started taking my car apart while I was still standing there watching. They don't have much of a waiting room, but it doesn't matter. He found the problem (idler) pretty quickly, showed it to me, and explained it. A timing belt is not an inexpensive thing, but he even tried to save me money by sending me to get it replaced under warranty. (it had been done within the year, but in another state,) The work was done the next day. He saved the parts to show me - again very helpful and transparent. And they stand behind their work with a full warranty on parts and labor! Everyone I saw there was helpful, polite and professional. I will definitely take my car here again and recommend this place to my friends.
