Two stars seems accurate although they are trying really hard for 1 Star. Their tier 1 phone…read moresupport takes a beating. Thursday: System was only downloading @ 1.5 MB. Called (35 min on hold) and I had already done the whole unplug things & plug them back in. I told them that but they wanted to walk through things again. I humored them. As it was 9 pm I was told that they couldn't fix it until the next AM Saturday: 6pm I call and selected- call me back when it's my turn. 7:30 I call and am on hold another 10-15 minutes. Support asks if anyone has called me. I say no that's why I am calling you now. Let's get this fixed. Support can't help fix it and someone will give me a call on Monday. WTF?!??! This company is terrible. Internet connections are like water & electricity these days. People use these things 24/7. UBB, get your act together & start supporting your service 24/7, not just M-F 8-5, when I'm @ work!

The service tech was extremely nice and that earned 2 stars back. It's funny tho because he called because he could t find us because they had our address wrong...so how did they really know we didn't have service hmm?! Horrible! We were excited to set up service and scheduled services with them. Almost a week later and they were going to come out tomorrow. Well we get an email saying their engineers decided that they could not service our area after multiple people (Amy, Shawn and one other) said that our area was serviceable. Their excuse is that we have a "Hill" in the way! THERE ARE NO HILLS AROUND ANYWHERE! They didn't even come out to check to see if they could get service out here. They wouldn't even try!! They don't value customers at all!!! There are no large building or trees around us either. Bottom line is they didn't even try. It's a conspiracy of antitrust law in our area.

You're better off without CenturyLink Internet, using public library computers or Starbucks Wi-Fi…read more I have had CenturyLink high speed Internet for the past 10 months in Park City, UT. In all fairness, the Internet speed and reliability is very good. I have never had connectivity issues, and I can load large videos and download songs with lightning speed. Unfortunately, their lack of customer service is EMBARRASSINGLY poor. I have tried three times now to call them to cancel my service. I did not call during peak business hours. The first time, I waited for OVER an HOUR before deciding to hang up and try back later. The second time, FORTY-FIVE MINUTES, the third time, THIRTY MINUTES....AND COUNTING. I simply want to cancel the Internet service at my home, since I am moving away. I cannot fathom why this transaction is so difficult; I should be able to cancel my services online and simply ship my modem back through the mail, without waiting to speak to a customer service representative. Each time I've called, an automated voice tells me, "You are very important to us. Please stay on the line, and a customer service representative will be with you shortly. Your expected wait time is more than three minutes." Three minutes, hmm, not bad, I think. Then three turns to five, then to ten, fifteen... and I begin to wonder if their system noticed I called at all! They feel obligated to play elevator music, reminiscent of crackling white noise on a TV channel that doesn't come through. Every thirty seconds, they play an advertisement about adding Direct TV to my plan, and finish it off by repeating their first line about how "you are very important to us." I have a marketing degree, and I must say, this is blatant false advertising. By no stretch of the imagination is "shortly" defined by in excess of 45 minutes. I would much rather CenturyLink simply tell me that their expected wait time is 2 plus hours, so that I can put my phone down, go cook dinner, feed my dog, go jogging, shower, clean my house, and then come back to my phone to wait and see if anyone has answered my call. Instead, I've waited, listening to their fuzzy elevator music and phony, false advertisements through my wireless headphones for an indefinite period of time, with no sort of resolve as to when my phone call may be answered (aside from "shortly")!! Given their quality Internet connection, I would rate CenturyLink as two, perhaps even three stars out of five, rather than one, but it is immeasureably important to me that I let my fellow friends and neighbors understand that they MUST NOT USE CENTURYLINK. Once you sign up, you will not be able to get out. It's funny to me that CenturyLink can continue to bill customers and profit, by never answering customer phone calls to cancel service! What a tricky strategy... and yet, it works for them. Tomorrow, my monthly payment for Internet Services is due, without which, I will accrue a late fee. I am about to accrue $60+ in fees on an account that I have been trying to CANCEL for TWO WEEKS. For an account that I should have received a REFUND for two weeks of UNUSED SERVICE. You make me sick, CenturyLink.

I'm still getting bills in the mail and phone calls from them saying they're going to send me to collections (keep in mind that they never set up the internet and never even came to our office). Every time I talk to someone, they apologize and say it is the company's error, but nothing changes. Every day I get another phone call or another bill in the mail. I can't get them to stop. Worst experience I've ever had with any company, period.

I was having trouble with getting my elderly V.A uncle used to where his channels were at (we get so many more than DISH! and channels we actually watch). I lost my paperwork and couldn't find the number for NewStar and just searched for the DirecTv number online. I called into DiredTv wanting some help with figuring out what to do and I could barely understand the agent on the line (language barrier) and they basically said they would have to send a technician out to me and it would cost me $40-$99. I declined, because I just don't have the money for that. Thought I was just stuck and very dissapointed. One week later I got a follow up call from NewStar just to see how I was liking my New DirecTv sytem. Let me say I am pretty embarrassed at how I treated the young lady on the phone. I vented and was very upset and she didn't interrupt me even once! She listen ACTUALLY LISTENED. Then she fixed it all right over the phone, I didn't even need a technician and that saved me time and money right there! She went through step by step with my uncle of making a favorites list and with the protection plan I had got from them they were able to send me out a remote that fit my uncles needs even better, for free ($15 plus shipping if I didn't have that protection plan). Remote got to us in 2 days and they had already setup a favorites list with my uncle and he was happier than he had ever been in his 80 years of different tv services (he is now deceased). I wish I had the name of that young lady and I hope she sees this review. To that agent if you do see this review I want to thank you and apologize again for how poorly I treated you on the phone. The main thing I have learned through this experience is to go through a authorized dealer for anything I can! Even when I didn't know it they had my back, THANK YOU New Star!!!!!
