AVOID AT ALL COSTS! After 2 weeks of no contact from them I called to find they send a registered letter and do not physically serve the defendant. When I complained I wouldn't spend $59 dollars to send a registered letter they canceled the service, but state they are not sure if they can get the documents back. Constable Jennings was surprised I needed the court docs back and claims its normal to do this registered mail. He even emailed me a link to "Utah Rule of Civil Procedure 4(d)(1)" to prove this is acceptable procedure. I have since contacted three different constables in Utah that told me clearly this is not normal service. read more

BUYER BEWARE! When I contacted Wasatch Constables to serve papers on my behalf, I was quoted a price over the telephone. This price quoted to me was based on information that I gave to the representative over the telephone. I agreed to the price and proceeded to give her my credit card--services paid in full (or so I thought.....). A few months later I received a statement for a balance owing them of $17. I inquired by letter and received a telephone call today from 'Joey' with the information to 'justify' the additional charge. Joey said that the $17 was because the papers I needed serving were outside their 'normal area.' But I told her that I gave the information to the representative over the telephone at the initial inquiry and was quoted a price based on all the information regarding the service job. And, never once was 'out of service area' mentioned. Before Joey proceeded with additional details to justify the $17, I told her that the case had been completed and I won. Then she said, and I quote, 'Then it shouldn't matter to you about the $17.' Wasn't that a shocking response! Then she proceeded to tell me that she pulled a deputy off a case and had my papers served as a 'rush job.' I told her that I neither asked for that service nor was it necessary. No response from her to that statement. So, today I wrote a check to them for $17 (because we all know they will take me to collections if they don't get it), but my Yelp review was worth the $17 and more! :-) read more

They falsely located my husband, who was NOT the correct person to be served papers. He was approached at our doorstep, with papers, to pay money now...or go to jail. (That's pretty intense!!) HE HAD A GUN on his hip. I wanted to call our city police just to verify this claim since I knew it was wrong. This was a case of mistaken identity. You'd think they'd make sure they had the matching & correct birthdate or verify the person & correct address. But apparently....you google search the first person with the matching name show up at their house and go ahead and serve them papers. What a waste of time for everyone. I can completely see how people are wrongly accused given our court system. Luckily we figured it out promptly, this this wasn't my husband. (What if we didn't have the $250, it would be the wrong guy headed to jail, because someone didn't do their homework before serving papers?!) they did not verify this was the correct person before showing up. read more

Wasatch Constables has been a company I have been able to rely on when needing papers to be served. I have only needed to serve papers twice, and I have used them both times. They are very friendly and professional, they respond back to me quickly, and have made the stress and burden of serving someone easier and without delay. They have great customer service and time efficiency. Absolute worst team of "professionals" I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I had an open and shut case when the defendant failed to appear, only to be told by the judge that the constable did not correctly fill out the return of service form listing the defendant as a registered agent of the business. When I contacted Wasatch Constables about this they "reserved" the defendant, did not list the defendants name or affiliation with the business, and were duped by the defendant into thinking they have moved resulting in a non-serve notice. To make matters worse they are invoicing me for them making a mistake, even after I explicitly told them that I would not pay for a re-servicing fee. If you want to win your case, hire a real professional and avoid Wasatch Constables like the plague. read more

I was served papers for an unpaid medical debt. The constable was very aggressive; pounding on my door and yelling, "answer the door!" I wasn't expecting anyone and needed to get dressed, and as a young woman who is home alone, it can be a bit alarming to hear a strange man pounding on my door and yelling. I have PTSD from a traumatic childhood, and this was a huge trigger for my anxiety. I was afraid to answer the door. My suggestion to Wasatch Constables is that they have a little more tact when doing their job and have consideration for the people they interact with. A polite knock on the door would have had the same outcome, but also would have spared me the unnecessary alarm. read more
