Georgetown has a reputation for being an expensive and exclusive place to live in Washington. Starting at the famous Oak Hill Cemetery, the tour began with stories about the death of Lincoln's son and the family that used to run the cemetery. A.J. gave told some interesting stories to set the mood, but also provide some history to the landmarks we sometimes take for granted. The highlight of the tour for me is the general location where The Exorcist was written and filmed. You can definitely feel the chill in the air as we heard about the inspiration for the story, the background of the author and the stories about the house and surrounding buildings. No trip would be complete without a walk down the Exorcist stairs where the priest met his end. Another highlight was the walk along the Georgetown tow path and canal. The echoes reverberate as you walk under the bridges and your steps crunch the gravel in the dark passages. It was a great tour and I learned a lot. read more

I was super impressed with Fiat Luxe Tours, and Andrew in general. I did the National Mall tour with him and a small group, and it was so fantastic - the information, the tour itself, and the length, were all perfect. We saw and learned so much in a reasonable amount of time - about two hours, and it never felt rushed. Andrew shared with us the basic facts of the monuments, as well as lesser known tidbits and controversies that go along with them. AJ was the most wonderful tour guide I've ever had. I've traveled the world and had numerous guides in plenty of countries, and he is by far the most genuine individual as well as insightful guide. My boyfriend and I were tired, tight on time and "museum-ed out" for the day but wanted to see the highlights of the American History Museum. He took our requests to heart and gave us a whirlwind tour packed with the best information. AJ is a wealth of knowledge! You don't get this stuff from the museum plaques- the ones you usually skim anyway and don't absorb. He really paints a picture for you and history is a bit more tangible and memorable. We had the pleasure of taking AJ's Georgetown tour. A haunted tour is a tradition for us, and over the years we've done them all over the area from different companies, and this was easily our favorite. The tour was obviously well-researched - AJ has a passion for the subject that comes through - and even though all four of us had lived in DC for years, we went places we had never gone and learned a great deal about this town we thought we knew so well. Additionally, AJ was very responsive (returning emails within a few hours) and thoughtful (checking the weather, advising us about stairs ahead of time, etc.).
