Peas on toast and mushrooms on toast, sitting in the sunlight!
Kirsten B.

The food here is to die for! I adored my peas on toast. They are well worth getting with the black pudding. My friend had the mushrooms on toast (end of the menu), and was also extremely impressed. The staff are the NICEST ever. You have to go here. Now.

Delicious food at Fia

The food was absolutely delicious, well presented, and good portions. The staff are also warm and friendly, and do a good job of making you feel at home in the little café. I was a little disappointed with the coffee, and the chocolate used for mochas is so dark and bitter I couldn't even taste the coffee! I can't imagine the hot chocolate is a good choice for kids unfortunately. I'll be back for sure but might stick to tea :)

A must in south Dublin! excellent food, extraordinary espresso and the most lovely staff-- thank you Fia!!

Mushrooms on toast w/fried egg
Rebecca F.

Back to Fia again and it is just so good. I had mushrooms on toast with a soft fried egg, so many incredible flavours, what a treat for a midweek breakfast. My husband had the eggs and greens with chorizo, which I had the last time and loved, he was v impressed. We both had a black coffee, it was possibly the nicest coffee I've ever had in Dublin. Just wonderful! Room a little on the cold side but otherwise a brilliant spot. Love it!

Gnocchi with chanterelle purée
Sarah G.

The service was thoughtful and kind, the atmosphere clean, cozy, and simple, and most importantly, the food was delicious! I had the gnocchi with chanterelle purée while my friend tried the mushrooms and egg on leVain toast- we both absolutely loved our meals. In addition, our server thoughtfully dropped off some raspberry kombucha samples for us to try after he overheard us saying how we thought it sounded good. He was so sweet! I've already recommended this place to others.

Lovely little spot for a quick breakfast or coffee. J had the mushroom toast with a soft egg and I had the scrambled eggs, greens, and chorizo on toast. Both dishes were full of flavour and quite filling. We received speedy service and the coffee was nice as well. Will return!

Food was ok. But about 10 people walked in (either cyclists or from local gym) who hadn't bothered to shower. Animals.

Great coffee. One of the best in Dublin. Friendly staff and nice premises. Definitely would recommend the filter coffee.

The first day we arrived to Dublin, I had a bit of a headache. I sent my husband in search of coffee and a bite in the hopes of warding off the headache. He brought back a tuna melt and mocha from The Bald Barista. Both were excellent. The tuna melt was herbaceous and flavorful and the mocha was the perfect blend or rich chocolate and strong espresso. So, a few days later when my mom arrived and was hoping for coffee and a bite, I said--I've got just the place! On that visit, we enjoyed our coffee and food in house. You order at the counter where you enter and if you're dining in, you simply take the stairs to the dining room and they'll bring you both your food and coffee. This time, I ordered the same coffee (why mess with a good thing) and a yogurt with everything (fruit, nuts, seeds--the works!). The shop itself is cute, warm, and inviting. The service is top notch with beautifully friendly folks working in here (including the Bald Barista himself). If you're in Dublin and are looking for an exemplary cuppa and some tasty bites served with a smile--this is your spot. Get to it!

They prepare and serve up coffee as a city better than any other city in the world. Sorry Seattle, Portland, its the truth. As a full fledge coffee nerd/snob I am looking for great coffee nothing more. Also if they don't roast their own beans and they are just serving someone else's coffee they will never get above a 3 star from me. I am looking strictly at the coffee and the customer service in my reviews. Accents was fantastic. When I walked in the Barista, a pretty little red headed Irish woman was doing some spectacular latte art on a Mocha, she smiled and asked me what I would like. I order just a regular Latte. They do not roast their own beans, but she was out of coffee in the grinder, she reached for a new sealed bag and I caught the name, McCabe's. I was unfamiliar so afterward I looked them up. here is the link if anyone is interested. (https://mccabecoffee.com) Local award winning Cork roaster. I watched the Barista, fill the grinder and then told me it would be a minute as she needed to dial in the espresso. I shook my head in a circle like I didn't get it but okay. She had it dialed in after 3 shots. looked like 18 in and 36 out. She was a pro, steamed my milk while the shot pulled in about 24 seconds. I ordered my drink to go but it was still presented with great art and a smile. Told me where the sugar and lids were but suggested I tried it before i added anything, that the espresso is very good. I tasted it and said, "You are right, needs nothing" and it didn't. BEST LATTE I HAVE HAD THIS TRIP TO DUBLIN. I am breaking my own rule here, I can because they are my rules, they don't roast but they use fantastic local Micro-roasted beans and prepare my drink to perfection. Don't miss this little gem the in Dublin. 5 Stars.

Ambience: Fun, funky, hippie, artistic and lively, with a little local health food grocery within the premises, as well as kitchen and cafe. Great people-watching, both within and outside the many large windows. Comfy, homey furnishings and an airy large space. Food: EXCELLENT. Local, sustainable, healthy, creative, and DELICIOUS. We had the Banh mi on fresh baked bread that was to die for -- perfectly spiced, with each bite savory, sweet, crunchy, fresh, rich. The coffee was terrific, too! And there were so, so many astonishing fresh-baked things available... serious temptation for the two diabetics on holiday! Service: Our server really went out of her way to make certain we were comfortable and well taken care of. She was bright, friendly, communicative, and quite helpful to two strangers who'd just arrived in Ireland! Value: Remarkably low price for such high-quality food! Wait time: None. We were seated immediately at a spacious table in a window space filled with morning sun. Other: Great family of people here, creating a community space for locals and a great welcome for visitors. If we'd had longer in Dublin, we would have checked out some of the events the place hosts!
