My laptop's fan was being FAR louder than it should; after getting an initial diagnosis from Best…read moreBuy (where I bought the computer), the folks at Geek Squad recommended this location. I was excited--after all, it was only a short drive from me--but I was also nervous; I've had issues with computers before that had taken months to get fixed. I didn't want to be computer-less for all that time! Thankfully, the folks at uBreakiFix live up to their name. Even though they had to order a specific part for my computer, the repair was finished within a week. Every step of the process that I needed to know about was explained in concise detail, and I never found myself asking "Wait, WHAT are they doing to my computer?" And throughout the entire process, the people I interacted with were kind, cheerful, and patient. If you have a device that needs repairs, uBreakiFix is the place to get those repairs done. (Also, several employees complimented the stickers I had on my laptop. That has nothing to do with the repair, but it made me very happy.)

When I removed the broken glass myself, it came off in one piece with zero adhesive and debris in the corners -- clearly the cause of the crack, not misuse. I brought it back and asked for a proper reseal (color didn't matter to me). They installed an aftermarket glass that looked fine and held up with my case. Later the phone got rained on. Because the back glass was never properly resealed to IP68 standard, water got inside and the phone is now stuck in recovery mode -- almost certainly a fried motherboard from that leak. The Herndon manager refused to warranty it, calling it "water damage" and ignoring that their failed repair is what let the water in. I then took it to the Myrtle Beach location to try drying it out -- they cracked my screen and said Herndon would coordinate a replacement. That never happened either. Two locations, two failed repairs, zero resolution.

The store itself is very unorganized, and the online inventory doesn't seem to accurately reflect what is actually available in the store, which makes it frustrating if you're coming in looking for something specific. The checkout experience was especially frustrating. The clerk took an unusually long time to complete a simple transaction, and it became pretty apparent that he was distracted or doing something else. After standing there waiting, I finally asked if everything was okay, and coincidentally my transaction was completed almost immediately afterward. I understand that stores get busy and employees have other things to handle, but basic communication and attentiveness go a long way. This could be a great place for people who enjoy browsing and collecting games, but unfortunately the poor customer service, disorganization, and inaccurate online inventory make it hard to recommend.

DO NOT GIVE THIS SHOP YOUR PHONE!!!…read more My girlfriend brought her iPhone 14 to this shop to have the battery replaced. The phone had always been kept in a case and, to her knowledge, had never been dropped or exposed to water. There was no crack on the phone when she brought it in. After picking up the phone, she noticed that the camera was not working properly and that the front camera appeared to have a smudge or obstruction. She returned to the shop the very next morning to report the issue. At that point, she also noticed a sharp crack on the top-right corner of the phone (attached image). This crack was not there when she brought the phone in, and the phone had remained in a hard shell case for the past 4 years. Naturally, she was very concerned about how the damage had appeared. What was especially concerning was that the shop never mentioned any crack or damage when she dropped off OR picked up the phone. When she called the next morning, one of the first questions she was asked was whether she had dropped the phone which was a weird question to ask before she even mentioned any of the issue. When she returned to the shop, they claimed that she had dropped the phone, cracked it, and then somehow exposed it to water, resulting in water damage. She did not drop the phone or expose it to water within such a small time frame. She also asked about documentation of the phone's condition when it was dropped off and was told that the shop does not take before-and-after photos. So there is no documentation from the shop showing that the crack or other damage was present before the repair. She brought the phone in for a battery replacement and immediately afterward had a non-working camera, a smudged front camera, and a new crack that was not there when she dropped the phone off. The fact that the shop did not document the phone's condition and did not disclose the crack when she picked it up is extremely concerning. She is now disputing the charge and possibly filing Consumer Complaint with Virginia AG because she does not believe the damage occurred before she brought the phone in. If you use this shop, I would strongly recommend taking detailed photos and videos of your phone--including all four corners, the screen, cameras, and back--before handing it over for any repair. Or better, just save yourself and your phone from any headache and avoid this place at all cost.
