When I finally did pick up my car, they had me pay in full and when they showed me to my car they said, "oh btw, there's a part we still have on order." Are you kidding me?! I said fine, let me know when it comes in. A week later now and I've continued to argue with them and no part. I just found out today that the part came in two days ago and nobody informed me. Repair took significantly longer than what I had been told to expect, which resulted in me having…read moreto spend a ton out of pocket on rental, as I hadn't planned on it being a long repair and didn't have rental as part of my insurance policy. I was able to get some help from family and friends to ease that financial burden, but inconvenienced them as it was difficult to get a direct answer from the shop. Customer service was poor, and I was not updated on progress, unless I called, and even then was told I would get a call back, which I did, but was often at the very end of the day. I felt terrible and like I was annoying the poor receptionist with my frequent calls. Then there is the issue of competence, which seems to be lacking. Staff there do not seem to know the difference between left and right, and ended up replacing a part on the wrong side of the vehicle, so they replaced a perfectly good part, and then were stumped when it wasn't working. This led to them setting up an appointment at the dealership, and the mechanic in the dealer showed me what had been replaced which confirmed that the wrong part had been replaced. At this point I decided Gerber was not to lay another finger on my vehicle. They denied replacing the wrong part. The dealer understandably needed authorizations to order specific parts and do certain tasks, as Gerber was footing the bill at this point. They took their sweet time with returning calls to the dealer, so by the time they got the approval it was so late in the day that nothing could be done until the morning, further extending the time needed to complete the repair. All in all, which should have been a simple 3-4 day project (replace 1 sensor and a bumper) got stretched out over 2.5 months. I was able to get my car back in between some appointments, but the money wasted on rentals and time and frustration wasted due to incompetence has led me to never trust them again.

They were upfront and honest about everything. No pressure to have the work done there, but I ended up doing it anyway because I felt good about it. They texted regularly with a link that showed where in the process it was and the current costs (insurance's, of course) as they went through the work, which I thought was great. Finished very quickly, and it looks great! It came back cleaner than I left it, which is always nice. I can't speak to how they are for major repairs, but they were certainly great for what I needed.

They were easy to coordinate with through Geico and with Enterprise for a rental car and provided great communication on the repairs, with update phone calls on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Overall the repair took about three weeks, which was very fast, in my opinion. All of the staff that I dealt with were friendly and efficient. I highly recommend Gerber and would use them again in the future.
