First time here. The person behind counter was RUDE and NOT INTERESTED in helping us order. I even informed her we were new. Crickets. We were not important enough to get any guidance. Maybe because they close at 8 and we were there 715 ish ???? Brought home 3 dinners, 3 extra sides, & ice cream. DO not waste your $$ here. A TV dinner is better . The place is huge, looked clean and on a corner. That is all the positive I can write without lying. Disappointed. Food- rice is bland. Crispy chicken pita looked liked 2 pcs fried shrimp. serious! it WAS chicken...but geezzz get a better product. I even tried to resuscitate food at home. Super fresh. Super delicious. Try the gyro bowl. With a hummus base. They place your toppings in different parts of the bowl, but it doesn't matter because mixing them all up makes one delicious meal. The staff is super friendly, the place has PLENTY of seating, and the vibe is super laid back. Free parking outside. We will DEFINITELY be going back. read more

Honestly, these types of places I tend to avoid, because mainly specializing in raw salads usually strikes me as something that will lack flavor. I was extremely pleasantly surprised in that I could not have been more wrong about my preconceived notions. The ingredients are all fresh and delicious, and they have a wide variety of dressings as well as spreads to augment the flavors. It is extremely healthy and delicious! I was not disappointed with anything I ordered, but price wise it is on the higher end. I would take this place over Subway any day of the week though. Great little place! The vibe is modern, clean and airy. Went for lunch so there was a bit of a line but still got my food in under 10 minutes. I ordered the greens & grains bowl with quinoa and gyro meat and couldn't even finish it all, there was so much! It was delicious for a fast-casual, healthy meal. The whipped feta was amazing. I got the bowl, plus a side of pita and baklava for $14, a little steep for lunch but for the portion sizes and healthy nutritious ingredients, it's understandable. I'm really happy I gave Feta a second chance! We went for my birthday a few months back and I really really didn't like it--the vegetables I got were flavorless and watery. BUT I now live very close so we just went back. It was delicious. I ordered the greens and grain bowl, which was beautiful. The spinach was so good and the quinoa was warm. The chicken was warm and flavorful (the black lentils looked delicious and will be my next choice). They have pickled and fresh vegetables and several dressings. It was really delicious and is feel-good food. While I was hesitant to return for a while, I wish I would have tried again sooner. I am excited to return again. read more

I had high hopes when this place opened. Good location and concept. The food, unfortunately, is flavorless. The beef meatballs were tasteless. The falafel did have flavor, but a tough texture. Live nearby and wanted to check it out. Was a little confused about their Kitchen/Cafe layout from looking at their website, but it was all cleared up when we walked in. Ordered a falafel bowl and was told that they were out of falafel, but I waited 4ish minutes and they were ready! Everything was fresh and delicious and the falafel were so crispy and worth the wait. My friend ordered a pita and the lovely server had to go back to get more--I'm worried she burned herself in the process. Overall, delicious and fast food, but the organization was not as great as it could have been. Everyone seemed a little frazzled but that's expected of a new restaurant. Will go again! I have definitely found my favorite restaurant in Bloomington Indiana. By far, hands down, it is Feta Kitchen and Cafe. I know this may sound weird but that was the best salad bowl I've ever had at a restaurant. By far makes Qdoba and chipotle look like amateurs. The food is excellent, fresh and varied. Quality is consistently good. Bakery goods are very good. Service is polite and friendly. I'd also like to recommend their Romanesco dip which is only rarely available. My only complaint is the inconsistency of the portion size. I generally like the food at FETA. I went there this evening at 7:30 with my family. After much grimacing, sighing and melodramatic exasperation, one of the young ladies behind the counter finally took our order and us our bowls with a side-dish of "I don't care about you and you and I wish you were dead" attitude. And then, once we were seated outside, she locked the front doors and started to close up, even though there were still customers seated outside. I suppose she did this just to make sure no one could get a refill or a napkin or go to the bathroom. It was not a great experience. read more

I was excited about trying this place but left feeling really disappointed. Middle Eastern food should be full of flavor. This food was ridiculously bland. If you've ever had Middle Eastern food, you'll feel pretty let down by this place . Watery baba ganoush, tabouli that smells like old pasta salad without any parsley... no thank you! The pickled foods tasted old and flavorless. The "roasted" veggies were waterlogged frozen veggies that taste like they were boiled until there was no flavor left. I wonder, do these people understand that roasting a food is a flavor enhancing cooking technique and that throwing something in the microwave or boiling it, is not the same thing. Food can't just be pretty. It needs to taste good and be fresh! If you're fortunate enough to have such a nice location and great concept (Middle Eastern Chipotle style) for your restaurant you should at least try. Otherwise why bother? What I did like. Friendly staff, they label foods so it's convenient if you're vegan or gluten free. They recycle and they have a nice play area for children and water bowls outside for dogs. Nice location. I don't normally leave reviews but I think people should know not to expect much if they do decide to try this place. read more

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes fresh, flavorful, build your own meal creations. There are many ingredient choices to choose from and they can accommodate many different diets. The prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly. My daughter and I had protein bowls. The two younger kids had a smoothie and a kids meal to share. The smoothie was delicious and it is great that they offer a kids portion size option. We also had their hummus and fresh pita bread which I would recommend also. The protein bowl was so filling. More than enough for one meal. The play area is great too so the adults can enjoy finishing their meal while the kids play. The environment of the eating area is casual and relaxing. You definitely do not realize there is a busy intersection outside the restaurant. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

Meh. As I'm a vegan and try to avoid gluten, I appreciated that they labeled the menu items accordingly, but the food was extraordinarily bland. Not at all like authentic Middle Eastern food. The tabbouleh didn't even have parsley in it. Who the hell ever heard of tabbouleh without parsley? Wish we had gone elsewhere. It was my girlfriend's birthday and we were excited about trying a place that was new to us and appeared to have lots of options that appealed to us, but boy, what a mistake. read more

Okay, I really don't understand the negative reviews. They must have come on an off day. The food was very good, reasonably priced, and staff was friendly. And bless FK for the play area. My husband and I were actually able to eat our food in peace. This will now be in our (what we call) "the rotation." ...also want to add that this is not like going to Chuck E Cheese. You can still have an adult meal so don't let that deter anyone. Everyone could enjoy the atmosphere. read more

I had high hopes for this place which is probably why it's only 3 stars... the set up is great. Large open dining space, very bright, reusable and plastic utensil options, toddler play area. In theory the food options are also great. But in reality there were some big misses for me. The chicken was dry. I'm guessing not cooked fresh this morning but rather reheated (Thursday 1115am dining experience), the rice was also dry (and cold on purpose?). The gyro meat is not made in house, it comes pre made (blech) so def didn't get that. The salad dressings are made with an olive oil vegetable oil blend (blech). The oatmeal chocolate chip cookie was made with butter (yay!) but was also dry /not fresh and probably baked a few days ago (i bake a lot I'm well aware how sweet treats age). And aside from the food, the kids area although a LOVELY concept, was kinda gross. The train table is very dirty in all the cracks and crevices and if you're going to have an area like that (again, super appreciate the concept) you have to clean it. The food was tasty and fresh, though the bowl left me a bit hungry. The place is spacious, clean, and modern, but it has the feel of an upscale cafeteria rather than that of a restaurant. And I am not a fan of all the paper plates, plastic cups, plastic cutlery -- huge amount of trash produced with every meal. Plus it is aesthetically displeasing. Why not real plates, cups, and cutlery? It marred the experience of eating there. read more

The aesthetic, staff, and philosophy of this place make it one of my favorites in Bloomington. Good for folks of all ages and offers a sweet little play area with toys and books. Plenty of room to study as well as meet with friends. Very accessible as well. I have, unfortunately, been a bit disappointed by the food bar a couple of times. My meat and rice are sometimes cold and not super fresh. Beverage options are delicious, though. Just could keep the food a bit hotter/fresher. read more

I was in line behind two men. They both ordered a gyro bowl and got two pieces of meat. I ordered a gyro bowl and the person gave me one piece. I pointed out that the men had received twice as much and the girl gave me a bit of attitude that she was doing me a huge favor by pulling out another piece, but whatever, at least I was going to get the same amount of food as everyone else. She then cut the piece in half and put half back. What kind of sexist, cheapskate restaurant is this where female customers get half as much food as men? Don't support this nonsense. Honestly blown away. The worst part about Feta opening is that I honestly crave it every single day. It's refreshing that Bloomington​ is getting much needed Mediterranean​ food. Their​ bowls are amazing. I got a grain and greens bowl with toppings. I was pleasantly​ surprised​because​ their hummus and baba ghanouj were​ ridiculously authentic. I have seen many people calling this restaurant the Mediterranean chipotle. They'd be right in terms of the set up, but the ingredients here are much more fresh and tasty. The dressings and items like Baba Ganoush are all made fresh in house with care. All of the pickled toppings are made in house as well and I was informed by an employee they are each pickled in their own special brines with different seasoning. Most everything here is made in house - I feel redundant saying that over and over again but that is something Chipotle cannot say for itself as far as dressings and such go. House made iced tea, lemonade and matcha... delicious fresh baked pastries and espresso beverages from Sunergos roasters (from Kentucky so Midwest sourced) and local Cup and Kettle teas! It can get quite busy but the employees keep up really well. I can't speak for some items like the meat selections because I am on a vegan diet (Excellent options for every dietary restriction or allergy). I've seen many complain about food quality and state they must've gone at a bad time ... go to the register and speak with the employees about these concerns! They will go out of their way to make it right for you. Some of my favorites here are the Strawberry Champagne hot tea, bacon cheddar jalapeño scone (when I'm feeling like breaking my diet. Seriously to die for) and a bowl with quinoa, falafel, all the veggies, Skuhg and housemade balsamic. read more
