The food was all delicious and exactly what you'd expect from a quality restaurant of this style. The servers were all teenagers, but they all did a good job being friendly and helpful. I would recommend that some of their staff have options for people looking for recommendations. When I asked a young lady working there for assistance on making a choice her reply was "I don't eat this food". My wife and I had just driven 30 minutes to the middle of no where chasing a gelato truck and we decided that we needed some real food. Recognizing that we were in a new area I seized the opportunity to try Fest which has long been on my to do list. The setup is incredible, plenty of outdoor seating with heatlamps and a fire. Indoor they offer long picnic tables and several different areas to sit. While they offer QR menu codes (which is nothing new) you have the option of ordering directly from your table which is a nice way to cut out the middle man. I am still recovering from a bachelor party the week prior so I laid off the booze but this was the first time I was seriously tempted to get a drink. They had a wide variety of beers and GREAT prices. The food looked amazing as well. I ultimately got a burger with pineapple, bbq sauce and onions and my wife got a beyond burger with mushrooms onions and cheese. Both were really great. The ONLY thing keeping me from giving this place a 5 star rating is that there were no TVs. They advertise game specials, have wings and beer but unfortunately there is no tv to watch any games. While Fest is a little farther out, it is definitely worth the trek and I will be going during the spring and summer time. read more

We always start with the giant pretzel and beer cheese to pit with our choice of drinks. While I love their wursts, I have to say I've been pulled recently to the Kentucky Derby Chicken Sandwich. It's a HUGE chicken breast, cooked perfectly so it's crunchy and juicy! Seasoned well! My friends are fond of their burgers, highlighting the Philly cheesesteak burger and the Alamo burger. I hate to write this, but changes need to be made. This place has consistently gone downhill and the lack of crowds show that the attention to quality is not there. I've been let down the past few times I've eaten here, getting food that's not even a fraction as good as it was a few months ago or especially a few years ago. Just got my favorite sandwich here, the upstate, and the chicken was sad. I can't even think of another word to describe it. Sad effort put into making it. Sad presentation. Just a sad sandwich that used to be one of my absolute favorites. You used to get a big filet of white meat, fried up and dipped in sauce. Now it's about the size of a deck of cards and mostly fat. The $2 extra for the 15 cold fries I got seems to be a bit much. Hopefully this place gets better as the beer selection is still pretty decent. read more

If you want to get out to a bar that has some good options for food come on down. We sat at the bar and the bartender was so attentive and helpful. I wish I got her name but when the bill came it said Samuel. I don't think that was her name. We got one of the pretzels. It was real good and it came out real quick. I really need to come back and try more food next time. I was also nervous about bringing a kid because of the reviews. They do have kid options that i didn't know about. So next time kid will come. The bartender did tell us that since it is warmer it is busier because of the outdoor seating. She also said that it is family friendly. It does seem that way. There will be live music Friday and Saturdays. Please please please come in and waive a good review so that people can know to come here more. This place is owned by the owners of Capital Ale House. I asked the bartender. Also, please bring cash. They pay there people like they do in Europe. Came here a while ago to give this place a try. I'm so glad I did. It has become one of my favorite spots in the area for a great German Beer. 1) Place is clean and welcoming. This place was really good! We wanted to try out their patio, but it ended up being cold and rainy. I have also seen photos of their burgers on Instagram and have really wanted to try one. I got the All-American burger with an extra patty added on and chips. I love a good classic cheeseburger. Flavor was decent, but as I am a burger fanatic, it didn't not knock my socks off. While ordering from my phone, there was nowhere to specify how I wanted my burger cooked. It came out well done, which is fine, but honestly that is what took away a lot of the flavor I'm sure. You can tell from the picture that it is very well done and shriveled up a bit in size. It also, had a strong charbroiled taste, some people love that. I'd prefer more of a medium to medium-well and still juicy. The chips were pretty good as well, but again very well cooked and super crispy. Maybe left in the fryer little too long. Again, some people like that, but I'm not into having all of my food over cooked that much. We had a group of four and placed our orders through our phones, the food took about 20 minutes to arrive. The ordering was slightly confusing. You have to see the menu using a QR code, no big deal. The confusing part was that it grouped our entire table of four as one bill even though we ordered separately from our own phones and each had to enter a card number to order. When I asked an employee how to separate, she didn't know, but said she could split it up at the register. My debit card ended up being charged/held twice and then refunded through the ToastTab app. My friend ended up paying for the entire bill and I had cash to give him so it all worked out, just sort of a strange process, surely put into place due to COVID. Next time I will just place my order at the register up front. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, service was friendly, and food was good. I will absolutely be back again, but this time I will hopefully sit on the patio, and I will order my food at the register and request my burger medium-well. It was a lovely Spring day and our family headed from Bon Air out to Woodlake to visit Fest. Big umbrellas cover long wooden tables creating a Oktoberfest type atmosphere. We stared at the menu on the wall for a bit before someone offered us the paper menus. "These are much easier to read. The wall is confusing." Then...make it less confusing? Anyway, she patiently walked us through the food options, offering recommendations for food and drink. We placed our order and took a seat outside. After a slightly longer wait than expected, our food arrived. I got a hot dog with brie, fig jam, and sweet Bavarian mustard on the side. Listen..it was AMAZING. The bun was split top with both sides posted. The dog itself was good and the brie and jam took it over the top. I had to ask for the mustard but it was a great sweet/tart flavor. The fries were plenty tasty too. Someone in our party got their hot dog on mac and cheese. The mac was cheesy with good flavor. It was a really good experience overall. It is a local spot in the midst of corporatism that is chesterfield that you can find a great stein of beer at a decent rate. I've been to Fest 3 times and have had great experiences each time. The first two times I stopped in with Schweety and we grabbed seats at the bar. They feature 8 to 10 draft beers, focusing on German styles and regional craft beers. Be aware.... they only serve liters and half liters. Happy Hour is 11:00am to 6:00pm, too! On one of those visits there was a $10 schnitzel special with 2 sides which was a great snack for the two of us to share! On the second, we enjoyed the GIANT pretzel, $8, with an assortment of German mustards. YUM! Today, me and 8 of my friends went for lunch and they did a great job. Each of our orders were placed quickly at the counter. It seemed that there is only one front of house person, and she did a great job of taking our orders, and delivering hot, tasty food. I loved the "Upstate" chicken sandwich ($10.50) which was crispy and hot with garlic buffalo sauce, lettuce, tomato and blue chees dressing with a side of fries. Others had burgers, brats, and hot dogs. Everyone seemed pleased with their food. Long tables with benches make Fest a great place to take large groups. Patio seating is also available. read more

Went today for the first time so we were a little unfamiliar with how to order, where to get your drinks, etc. The waiter or host was very nice but didn't explain that you go get your bottled soda after ordering and your water as well. Basically you order by scanning the QR code and pay before you ever get your food just like if you were ordering for pickup. They bring the food out to you along with silverware and condiments. The food was very good. My wife got the grilled chicken sandwich and mac & cheese, and I got the food as pictured. They were out of schnitzel (bummer) but we were able to have the pretzel and currywurst which both tasted good. Been here 4 or 5 times now, a couple of delivery during the pandemic, and a couple in person. Really top notch every time. The Alamo burger is my favorite, but tonight I tried the schnitzel sandwich and it was top notch too. Crispy with a little kick in the breading, and the pickle really makes it. Fries are frozen but still cooked well and crispy delicious. We had a couple of beers and took home a giant pretzel for snacking. The service is pretty quick.
