Had the Alamo burger with a side of sauerkraut. I Iike the community table seating and staff was attentive. Stein Society is a great offering as well if you live in the area.

Great beer cheese burgers, and chips. Dill pickle reminded me of the ones my mom used to make (yes it was yummy ) Service was awesome, and the ambiance is perfect for a relaxed place to eat after work. Will be back! Thank you Fest Midlothian!

I've liked this place for a while now. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, reasonable prices. The food is great, nice selection of beers and other drinks.

I was looking for someplace new to have a drink and I decided to stop in today. I was able to try a few samples, which helped me decide on the Paulaner Lager. I ordered a giant pretzel to go with my beer. The pretzel was huge and came with some German mustard which went well with it. The service was good, the workers were friendly, and the beer was nice and cold. My only complaint was the price of the pretzel--at $9, it was almost the same price as a burger. There was a good assortment of beers to choose from. It's definitely worth revisiting when I'm in the area.

The food is great and the service is always friendly and good. We love the patio and having dinner out there!

My husband and I went on a Wednesday around lunch after visiting the Richmond Zoo. There were a few customers. After speaking with the staff, I was told they get busy on Wednesday Polish Days and Sunday $5 schnitzel days. The Schnitzel Sandwich was so yummy. Think chick fil a but with pork tenderloin and a more robust potato roll. Their cole slaw was very peppery and not laden with mayo. I'd say it's more of a vinegar base but didn't have the sour flavor of vinegar. We shared the giant pretzel which lived up to its name. The cheese dip was good as was the spicy ketchup with horseradish. One small comment: I think they need a larger bowl for their side salad. There were lots of beer choices, local and international. I would have loved to have been able to sit and try a few more. Especially since the beers were served with a frosty mug. Nothing like a truly cold beer. The decor allows for lots of interaction with others in the German Style. They have very large square tables with benches and long tables with benches. Another comment: some of us old folks need back support which we found on benches up against the wall. Maybe some bar stools with backs?? The staff were very nice. The food was yummy and the beer selection was great. I'd be a regular if I didn't live 45 minutes away.

We enjoyed our Monday lunch here. Each item we ordered was perfectly tasty and everything your tastebuds for German food would crave. We ordered the Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese, sausage sampler, the Texan and a side of sauerkraut and potato salad. I recommend them all! Paired with a lovely light beer that the cashier recommended with a sample. The restaurant is styled as I would imagine Oktoberfest here would be a 10/10. Thank you for a great lunch with my family :)

My wife and I are big fans of this place. It's one of the few German themed places in the area. They have Snitzel, all types of wurst, yummy pretzels and lots of beer options. We always start with their beer pretzel with beer cheese and are never disappointed. It's huge and so tasty. Then I go for either the brats or snitzel. The brat is so good and has beer cheese on it that makes it so awesome. For the kiddos you can get chicken tenders and fries which are just as good as anything else. The staff are nice and very helpful. One complaint would be that there's nothing really to do here. No TVs, no sort of activity on the tables. It's great for a group or some one on one time but not really a place for a Sunday sports evening.

Everything was great but it was a little upsetting that we were seated at a corner round table with…read morethe last chair sitting partly in the entrance door of the room. It was even more awkward because there were many empty tables in the bigger dining room and only one other party was seated there. We were also a party of 4. But the service and the food were awesome. We had appetizers of a very savory and huge pretzel with beer cheese and mustard sauces to dip it in. And sausage sampler's. Also very tasty. We decided to go there to honor my youngest son, Shane, who passed away a few years back, for what would have been his 52nd birthday. It was a wonderful experience and memory of past visits there with him and his family.

The entire meal I was looking at three empty tables across the dining room. The area is cramped. The wallpaper is peeling. There is grime on the bathroom doors. The view into the kitchen is unglamorous. Our server was reserved and underwhelming. I asked her what she could suggest for a vegetarian. There is one dish - with mushrooms. I asked if the green beans were cooked with ham. She said no and asked if I had food allergies. No allergies - I said I don't eat ham. The server said the beans had stewed tomatoes & mushrooms. I asked if they could leave the mushrooms off. She said, "Yes, if you pick them off." What? I ordered the French onion soup. I told the server I don't eat meat but I can tolerate beef broth. That was her invitation to say they use pork broth in the soup, but she didn't. Hubby ordered the Jager Schnitzel. He enjoyed the veal. The red cabbage was his favorite (he pulled out a bay leaf). The French onion soup tasted off. The creamed corn had three huge pieces of what I assume were husks. Otherwise it was good. The green beans were decent. I picked out the mushrooms. We were overlooked in the back. Hubby asked for a manager when he noticed I wasn't eating my soup. We were surprised that our server was the manager. There wasn't anything in her demeanor that demonstrated leadership or being outgoing. She removed the soup charge off the bill. When we had gaps in service, we asked another server for help (sharp knife, bag, lemons). Paying was a challenge. It is easy to be overlooked in the back of the restaurant. When we left, the hostess asked how we enjoyed the meal. I started to share. She said, "I'm still talking." I wish we hadn't gone inside. The idea of visiting the Bavarian Chef was much better than the actual experience.

All three of us were completely underwhelmed, Nothing was terrible, but nothing wowed us, and for the price we wanted wow. We started with drinks and the bread. The cottage cheese/butter mixture was yummy, but the rolls were overdone and dry inside. I only ate half of mine. The house white wine was lovely and my son had a very creative and interesting cocktail. The gem lettuce salad was wonderful. - the highlight of the evening. Tender lettuce, fresh herbs, green goddess dressing. The spring peas with wasabi butter were quite good as well. Then things went downhill. The spaetzle dish was a huge disappointment. The pasta was mushy, and we could barely taste the raclette. The charred broccolini on top was great, but that's not why you order spaetzle. We told the server that we didn't care for the dish, but she didn't ask for further details. The white asparagus has a strange vinegar flavor, but was rescued by the lovely sauce. We all ordered the chicken schnitzel. I'm still scratching my head over what the chef was trying to accomplish. The schnitzel itself was tender and perfectly cooked. The few bites I had without sauce were quite good. But the chicken was drenched in an overwhelming sauce (romesco?) although I think the menu said it was a Thai sauce. Whatever it was, it didn't go with the schnitzel at all. The endive on top of the schnitzel was delicious, however. Also, the menu said the dish had currywurst in it. None of us could taste even a hint of it. Portions are modest, and we could have eaten dessert, but none of us wanted to be expensively disappointed even further, so we called it a night.

The Jägerschnitzel with mushroom gravy was very good, with spaetzle and sauerkraut on the side. We also tried the rouladen with spaetzle and German potato salad, and the Leberkäse sandwich with potato salad. Everything was hearty, tasty and exactly the kind of German comfort food we were hoping for. We tried both a dark and a lighter German beer. The dark beer came in a proper mug, while the lighter beer was served without the German-style glass I was expecting--a small detail, but the right glassware is part of the fun when you're having German beer. They were also out of the lemon soda needed for one of the beer-and-lemon-soda options we wanted to try. We finished with the apple strudel, which was a nice ending to the meal. Service was good throughout, and overall we really enjoyed our visit. Good German food, generous plates and plenty of traditional choices. We'd come back.

They serve authentic German food which you can't find at many spots in the area unless they celebrate Oktoberfest. Let's see how the visit turned out. We were greeted by the staff when we walked inside and picked our table. I was surprised to see more seating available compared to how it looks on the outside. I wasn't able to look around at all the decor, but it was spotless. It makes you feel like you're actually in Germany. And there was German pop music playing on the speakers. Not bad at all. For the main course, I selected their chicken schnitzel with fried potatoes and sauerkraut as the sides. Everything was delicious. The schnitzel was tender and flavorful. The only slight I had was the protein seemed kind of small compared to others that appeared on pictures, but the sides definitely made up for it. Both were great compliments indeed. All three of us enjoyed our meals. All in all, a really good first time visit here. We'll definitely come back soon. Till next time :)
