First pours of the Classic and Red Red Wines flights
    Jessica S.

It's funny, we sat down at one of the metal tables in the shared patio space when the inside of Fess Parker was completely empty, except for the guy working that day. Two seconds later, the tasting room is full and there are two other parties on that patio next to us. And somehow, the one guy working at that time was responsible for serving everyone, all by his little lonesome. It was very clear that he needed help. After a bit of discussion, I went with the Classic flight: one white and two reds. My husband, predictably, went with the Red Red Wine flight: four different red varietals. What surprised me most was that the flights weren't presented in your "normal" fashion. Instead of all the tasting pours coming out at once, maybe with a paper to 'splain a bit more about what you're drinking, or why it was chosen, we were served one tasting pour at a time. In the same glass. Without it being rinsed out. Did I mention there was only one guy working the entire - at that time - packed tasting room? Our first pours came with the clean glass and a lovely couple of stories about the Fess Parker winery and the wines we were about to consume. And then it came with a 20-minute wait for the next wine in the line-up. Rinse - but not the glasses! - and repeat, and you get an idea of the entirety of our visit. I will say that at least he was pleasant and completely unflustered by the mob of thirsty customers that descended on his little spot in the space of five minutes. He did try to spend some time with us each time he stopped by the table, asking how we felt about the previous pour and providing a bit more story, background and history of the winery, the land and their wines, but the majority of our time spent here was spent waiting for the next pour. Also, he was kind enough to give me a splash of the fourth wine my husband had in his flight, since by then my flight was finished. All in all, this wasn't my favorite stop of the weekend, for the wines or the overall experience.

Many moons ago, I visited the Fess Parker Winery in Los Olivos so I was excited to hear about their tasting room in the Funkzone! Though the tasting room is small, it feels open, intimate, and cozy which is really nice! Molly was an amazing and friendly host as she walked us through our 3 tastings while sharing her knowledge on the vineyards and the wine itself. She really allowed us to take our time and checked in periodically. I have always enjoyed Fess Parker wines so this was great as always! Highly recommend the Classic Flight as that was our favorite!

Let's start off by saying "I joined the club on this visit" I forsee future visits to SB so I decided i needed to join a wine club. why not? Fess Parker has this location + 2 more farther away (about 45-60 min away) on this visit the 4 of us sat inside ... with the wine club membership that i joined...i get to taste at this location once a month for up to 4 people. there are 4 different tasting options that are included (the 5th option is an all red and not complemenatary). since there were 4 of us we each got a different tasting and shared i had the bubbles (duh)... all the wines we tasted were quite nice...but yes bubbles are my fav.! we took advantage of comp tastings at the other two sites on the following day (those we can go to more than 1/month but i won't be here that often =) super glad i picked fess parker to join (haven't found another local winery that i like more)...***shoot me your suggestions!

A nice tasting room to enjoy some delicious wines. The pours are pretty generous and the tasting fee is pretty affordable. Highly recommend this place

Such a great time at their tasting room! I only tried the whites but they were delicious. I'll definitely be back to try the reds! I enjoyed talking to Ellie and Keslie, who were working too.

a fun thing they have on the tables.

We went to Santa Barbara for my Mother In Laws birthday and did the whole funk zone wine tasting thing. This was the first winery we stopped at and we were served by Elyssa. She was so sweet and knowledgeable on the wines. She recommended the Roussanne and it was sooooo good! She also accommodated our parties requests as some wanted white and others wanted red. She was attentive and made our time very enjoyable. The space was very cute as well and the outdoor seating was perfect for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and recommend you checking it out!

    Wine flights for $18

Loved the wine here! It is fresh and tastes amazing! The service was great with 2 out of 3 of the employees. We asked about if the wine was organic. They are "sip certified" which is actually even better than what California considers organic. Would definitely come here again! Affordable wine tasting! Only $18!! Considered a wine club membership because of it.

Great location.. but they failed to do something great with it. The space has good bones but is uninviting. It looks undone and needs warmth. The wine is good. But they won't bring in new customers if the space is uninviting. The tasting room host was okay, but not super attentive given that there was hardly anyone here late afternoon on a Saturday. I went there for a free tasting during ReSIProcal February which my wine club (Foxen) is participating in. I doubt I'd return. There's too many other great tasting rooms in this area.

Taking a brief moment to acknowledge Graham-the manager at this location. My wife & I are members since December of 2023. We were there one year later & my wife bought half a case that she saw online. One of the employees took her order & was going to process her transaction a couple of days later. It never happened. Graham called us & honored the sale. When we received the half case, there was a problem with the bottles. Graham drove to our city & replaced them. Graham blew our minds with his level of customer service. We had considered canceling our membership but Graham's actions solidified our commitment to continue with Fess Parker-where we have made wonderful memories. Graham exemplifies what great management should look like. He takes customer service to a new level.

Weekday they were able to fit us right in! They have a lovely patio to take tastings. Small 3 wine flights for $15 including choice of rose, bubbles, Grenache or mixed. I felt like they had some very interesting takes on rose that were not too sweet and easy drinking, especially on a hot summer day! I loved that they had a bubbly flight and loved them all! Ended up buying a bottle of Brut Rosé! Can't wait to come back! Thanks!

This really is the perfect place for both wine AND food…read more So far we've been in a couple times sitting in the bar area and also out on their comfy patio space. Our servers Alex and Kayla were exceptional at both suggesting some delicious lunch items, and also giving a rundown on their different wine tastings. They gave us some helpful information on the assorted varietals and vintages as well. We went in specifically for their M5 and Riviera Rose, but discovered their extensive selection of other varietals and vintages. Came away with some new favorites: Sauvignon Blanc, Trois Blondes (a delicious white blend), Viognier, Mourvedre, and Estate Syrah. Perfect that they open at noon for lunch. We paired our wines with their Santa Barbara Smokehouse Salmon, Smoked Duck and Arugula Salad, Chicken Pesto Sandwich, and Sausage Mushroom & Carmelized Onion Pizza. Still so much on their menu to enjoy.

I'm giving this place 3 stars because of the efforts of one server to keep things afloat outside…read more When we arrived, another large party had just left outside and she immediately cleaned one of their tables so we could sit. It was chilly so she tried to light the heat lamp at my request but both that one and the replacement did not work. The replacement actually had the propane disconnected so I assume someone knew that tank needed to be changed out but didn't do it. The other tables from the large party were full of wine glasses and a half eaten pizza. Those sat there for over an hour, and we watched several groups of people come but leave without being seated because no server was available yo seat them and the only open table hadn't been cleared. When it was finally cleared, one guest at a near by table commented that the pizza shouldn't go to waste. The girl who cleared the table initially carried it inside but came right back out with it and served it to that guest whose kid ate it. I'm all for not wasting food and if the guest had gotten up and grabbed the pizza himself, that would be one thing... but to serve old food that had been sitting out for a long time to a guest is a no no for a business. We otherwise enjoyed most of the wines in our tasting flight. Would've given 5 stars if service had been more timely, tables cleared and old food not served up.
