Tried Fernanda 's NY Pizza for the first time last week and I'm officially hooked. I started with the chicken parm pasta and WOW perfectly cooked pasta, rich sauce, and the chicken was crispy and flavorful without being heavy. Truly comfort food done right. Came back today and had to try the chicken parm sandwich, and it did not disappoint. Crispy chicken, melty cheese, great sauce, and a solid portion. You can tell everything is made with care and quality ingredients. And the service is amazing! If you're a chicken parm lover, this place is a must. I used to love this place but my last pizzas have been delivered by a guy who 1. Doesn't know how to use a call box 2. Doesn't announce who he is on robo call 3. Has to have his manager text to make us go get the pizza from him and when we get it ... 4 it is smushed as if he had it under his arm or sat on it and it was cold ... they are just down the road so it was cold because of whatever the delivery guy was doing. This place was amazing! We had a long couple of days touring LA and we were at a near by hotel, found this place and gave it a try. I almost went to get a burrito, but the group came with me and thank goodness, because I would've walked right past this place. It's tucked in the corner between a burger spot and a sandwich shop. Someone had seen it online, so we decided to check it out. We walked in and it wasn't too busy. We ordered a mix of slices, drinks, sides, and even a cheesecake. Right after we ordered, like six more people came in, but the service was still super quick. The young guy at the register took our order, and the older gentleman immediately started getting our pizzas going, so everything came out fresh at the same time. The pizza was bomb. I got two pepperoni slices and before I even got back to the hotel I was already thinking about grabbing a third. The slices were huge and the perfect balance of sauce, cheese, and toppings. I seriously love this unassuming spot in Studio City!! A bit of a hole-in-the-wall sort of spot, literally tucked into the corner of a strip mall off Ventura Blvd, the vibes here definitely brought me back to the corner pizza shops in Manhattan! The decor inside is basic but very cute, I loved the wall art and photos of NYC, as well as the stacks of pizza boxes in the corner! You order at the counter, and then they brought our food out to us in no time at all! Both the white pizza and the sausage pizza slices were perfectly New York-esque with the oily, thin crusts and delicious cheese and toppings. The crust was just right, in my opinion! I also loved the basket of the garlic knots we ordered. In addition, we got a pipin' hot plate of fettuccine alfredo - it was nice and saucy and had a very generous portion for $16! I will say, the chicken on it was a bit lacking in flavor and the sauce could've been creamier, but otherwise I enjoyed everything here! Ordered take out on the website. Easy to use. Ordered the combo/supreme pizza, pepperoni. Also got a slice of barbecue chicken and Hawaiian. Girl behind the counter was very nice and was okay giving me the two slices while I waited on the full pizzas. Barbecue chicken may have been the best I have ever had. 5 stars Hawaiian was very good too. Crunchy crust but not too thick. 4.5 stars Combo pizza was packed with toppings but not as flavorful or crunchy as the individual slices. 4 stars Wife was very happy with the pepperoni. 5 stars Ambiance had some cool old school pictures of NYC and a TV with the volume low. 4 stars Parking lot is a mess. Not the restaurant's fault but can be a big headache. 2 stars. I will return to this as my go to pizza spot near Universal studios. I decided that it was a day to be a pig and so I ordered quite a few items from Fernanda's, as I'd read good things about it. I had the sausage and peppers sandwich, plus three slices of pizza - one pepperoni, one mushroom, one sausage. It all arrived nice and hot via Grubhub. Now, obviously only a pig could eat that amount of food. The fact is, I couldn't eat all of it. The sandwich was not quite what I was expecting - it was pieces of sausage rather than a link, but it was very tasty and I was happy with it. I had about a third of a slice of each slice - they were HUGE. I liked all three, but something has happened to me, pizza-wise and I hope it's temporary - but I haven't been loving any pizza the way I used to, not even my Valley favorite Dino's. Hopefully, that will change soon. Because - I love pizza. read more

Love this pizza! I like a thin crisp crust and/or a thin floppy crust. This is crispy yet floppy!. Just the right amount of sauce and cheese, and usually sauced to near edge. I've been coming since they opened and it is my favorite slice spot. Better than Joe's down the street. And a lot better than Piespace up the street. read more

The pizza is consistently good it's one of my favorite pizzas in LA. And I always ordered the chop salad because the dressing comes on the side and it's a large portion and you can eat half one day and half the other day. The pieces are huge and delicious. And the people who work there are very nice when I get Fernandez delivered I usually call the store directly and the store delivers that I don't use Postmates because they have pizza delivery and that way Postmates doesn't take a cut of the restaurant earnings because it's a small restaurant. read more

We got this pizza to go and it was not impressing. It was a floppy, odd tasting slice with really nothing good about it. We ordered half cheese half pepperoni sausage and although the pepperoni was good, the sausage was not. Compared to the normal chunks of sausage you may get on a pizza this one came with slices of sausage. Comparable to a slice of pepperoni. The garlic bread was decent though, no complaints. read more

Went to fernandas for the first time yesterday. I've been trying new places out and some have not been to welcoming. But once I walked in I felt extremely comfortable. The cashier welcomed me with a smile. And took my order down. I let her know it was my first time being there and she said "your gonna love it". She brought the pizza over and it was delicious! As a pizza lover I can appreciate a good by the slice pizza joint. I came in and got 2 slices. 1 white and 1 bbq chicken. I enjoyed it so much I went back the next day and got another white and a slice of deep dish. I took it all to to but the interior was nice and clean. White pizza: the slice that sold me. It's got cheese and spinach. For a simple pizza it's got great flavor. That this crispy bottom was perfect. Deep dish: the cheese deep dish was really good. I loved the crust. The sauce is really nice and I got a good cheese pull when I bit into it. Bbq Chicken: a great slice of pizza. I appreciated the fresh toppings on it. Had a good amount of bbq sauce, not too much not too little. Wish I had gotten a pic. Overall is definitely recommend this place. Probably the best LA NY style pizza and stands up right next to Apollonia or Jon and Vinny's or any other of those spots...a very hard-working family owned business. I've been eating here for 10 years (no BS) and I've never had anything but an exceptional experience. The owners love their customers and are SUPER respectful and friendly. The prices are fair but the portions are massive especially when ordering the Pasta dishes. The pasta also is incredible...better than many Italian places in the area. Highly recommend the Chicken Parm, Baked Ziti, and the Alfredo! It's in a plaza and has decent parking, there are TVs playing sports or movies, so it's great for kids or coming down and watching the game. Very clean and nice inside.
