The paper template sent by Kohler
    Elle S.

I went to Ferguson because I was told - by another sink/faucet showroom in town that only had color chips for Kohler sinks but none of the actual sinks - that Ferguson carried Kohler sinks, had the best selections on display, and was Kohler's primary dealer in San Diego county. I arrived at Ferguson, credit card in hand, ready to buy both the sink and faucet. I had already taken a look at Kohler's website and selected the models I wanted. I just hoped to see the color in person if I could, and be able to see it next to the faucet's finish, and my samples of cabinets, paint, fabrics and countertop. I met with a Ferguson showroom salesperson, Justin S., who told me the sink was a special order in the Dune color and Kohler was quoting 8-10 weeks to delivery, but I should not be surprised if it took 20 weeks. He then went on Amazon on his Ferguson computer to see if it was available there faster but said it was only available there in white. I had also wanted to find out about getting a paper template of the sink that my stone contractor requested to do the cutout in the countertop. He told me the paper template customarily comes in the box with the sink but that if I could get a template ahead of time, that would keep the project from delays. Justin told me Kohler no longer provides paper templates at all. I didn't want to wait 20 weeks so I left without placing an order, feeling very disappointed. At home, I decided to search the internet just to see if I could get lucky and find the sink for sale somewhere with a shorter lead time than 8-20 weeks. To my great surprise the Kohler website itself had the sink available right there to order - with a 7-10 day delivery time! I ordered it immediately and I already have a tracking number for its delivery by fedex 2 days from now. I then called Kohler, told them I had ordered the sink, and asked about getting the paper template ahead of time for my stone contractor to use. The nice lady I spoke with said she would be happy to send me the template as well as a sample of the Dune for me to have while I waited for delivery of the sink. I told her a salesperson had told me Kohler no longer supplied paper templates and she said that was absolutely not correct. So, 5 stars to Kohler. 1 star to Ferguson. Clearly the sales person at Ferguson has not been well trained or something else has gone very wrong for him to have given me such misinformation. And he lost a nice sale for himself and the company.

I cannot understate enough how much of a mistake it was to choose Mr Cabinet Care for our kitchen cabinets on an Encinitas project. We are extremely disappointed with our experience with Mr Cabinet Care. We arranged & purchased custom cabinet drawer fronts that were supposed to be high-quality, but they arrived with noticeable gaps. the gaps were problematic for two reasons: 1. for the drawers / doors that closed incorrectly and 2. for being prone to collecting food debris (and unable to clean or remove that debris). When I contacted the company about this clear defect (the food /gap error), they completely dismissed my concerns, blaming "care and maintenance" instead of acknowledging the poor workmanship. Even worse, they provided doctored photos in an attempt to shift the blame, falsely suggesting that residue such as gum or putty had been left on the drawers. Not only was this completely untrue--no such residue existed in any of the photos we originally provided, nor in any additional photos we took. Falsifying evidence to avoid responsibility is not just dishonest; it's unethical and gives us even greater concern over other claims they've made in workmanship or materials. The operations manager even said The material you selected, White Oak Select, is naturally prone to expansion and contraction due to environmental factors such as heat and humidity. Upon reviewing the photos taken by the technician, it appears that the issues you are experiencing are likely related to care and maintenance, rather than any manufacturing defect." These were installed weeks prior to our notice, not years later, and during a cool weather season. To claim extreme weather (like heat & humidity) in San diego is laughable and outrageous. Under California law, products like these are covered by warranties ensuring they are fit for their intended purpose. These drawer fronts clearly do not meet that standard, yet the company refused to honor its obligations. Instead of standing behind their product, they chose to manipulate the situation to avoid accountability. Beware if you work with them and have future warranty issues, youre going to likely run into similar defenses and accusations. I would strongly caution anyone considering doing business with this company. If they are willing to misrepresent facts and dismiss valid concerns, I can only imagine how they handle other customer complaints. I regret my purchase and would never recommend them to anyone looking for quality craftsmanship or honest customer service. We will not be using them for any future HGTV projects nor recommending them to other clients or customers. Update: 3/2026- cabinetry paneling (eg, refrigerator) has now had its glue come undone leaving a larger gap on one panel vs other panels ... We've also seen stripping used for drawers come unglued. the masterclass in poor workmanship continues ...

Here are a few things that set them apart from other contractors I interviewed: 1) responsive but not pushy. Some stone fabricators in San diego are incredibly pushy. 2) professional- in communication and in the way they do their operations. 3) high tech machinery and a clean cutting room. They let me see the cut template before cutting. 4) high attention to detail. 5) a proper itemized contract. Some contractors would just send me a text message with rates. That's not the way I want to do business, especially when thousands of dollars are being exchanged. The way they did quotes and contracts is what made me pull the trigger. They were mid point on price but for the service and quality you got, i felt it was a great value. I also love giving my money to a nice, hard working family. Thanks Sam, we will definitely use you again and recommend all our friends and family! In terms of pricing, he was on the lower end but not the lowest but considering the quality and customer service it's definitely fair pricing. I'm the type of person who is very specific about what I want and I did my homework. I got four different bids for this project, and C2C was the clear winner. Their quote was completely itemized--which I appreciated--and ended up being well under every other retail bid I received. Two people really made the difference: Mary and Bolo. Mary is a literal pro when it comes to the insurance side of things. She worked tirelessly on the supplements to ensure we maximized our RCV payout from our insurance. She caught things the adjuster missed and helped us get the settlement we actually needed to do the job right. Bolo, the project manager, was extremely responsive and reasonable throughout the entire build. Whenever a technical issue came up--even complex stuff like electrical circuit stability or specific plumbing heights--he was there to talk it through and get it handled. One thing I will say for people considering them: you need to be the kind of homeowner who has the capacity to stay on top of the work. If you know exactly what you want and you're willing to stay involved in the day-to-day details, C2C is an incredible solution. It's a partnership, and because I stayed engaged, we were able to hit a level of quality that usually costs twice as much. The house looks amazing (see the photos of the Blue Thunder Quartzite and the Jade tile!). They were fair, they were fast, and most importantly, they were responsive. Highly recommend if you want high-end results without the "luxury markup" of other firms.

This is the second water leak mitigation & restoration we've done with C2C and while the PM on the…read morerestoration portion was outstanding this time, overall, there were more issues with the mitigation than last. Specifically, they subbed out the demo portion to another company which incurred more costs and thus lead to rejection of payment by insurance company. Or rather, it was ruled as costs extending beyond ordinary expenses. Had it been included with the mitigation equipment, the insurance would've likely accepted it, as it did last time. The actual work performed by everyone was great in the end, just as it had been last time. Everything was remediated properly and more importantly, timely. Brandon the PM on mitigation along with David the PM on the restoration side were great, with David being the most responsive and communicative PM I've ever worked with. Meaning, updates everyday, as promised. That was the best part of the whole project for me as an anxious homeowner. I will say that my own insurance agent didn't help matters either in this case. He was super hard to work with and eventually C2C had trouble reaching him. This also soured the whole experience as everyone worked to track him down by phone and to prove that all expenses were legitimate. I'm on the fence as to whether to use C2C again for mitigation. Would not hesitate to use them for restoration though.
