A little disappointed in my latest visit. Was waiting to write a review in case things improved, but sadly they haven't. Stopped in on a weeknight around 6 and it was fairly empty. Maybe a dozen customers and four employees. Even though we sat at the bar it took awhile for someone to acknowledge us, and then longer to receive our drinks and place our food order. Considering they weren't that busy it was a bit confusing. You get a large portion of whatever food you order which is nice, but the flavor was pretty lacking in my French Onion Soup. The onions also seemed raw and not caramelized at all. The side order of tots was enough to feed a small area, but I had to ask for more ketchup since it was brought in a cup and there was no bottle available. Ambiance is still nice and is your classic Wisconsin sports bar type establishment. I'm used to the old days though when this place was packed and you had to yell to hear each other. A little sad the way it's kind of tapered off over the years. read more

Very strange that a bar/restaurant had only 5 patrons an hour before a Sunday Packers game. Service was great and should be with hardly any patrons The BYO Burger was awesome but the cup of clam chowder wasn't the greatest that I've tasted which I didn't even finish. I thought that I check this place out finally since it replaced world what ever and have a drink because I really don't care for the food menu because it's small and bar food. It was a lazy Sunday so I thought a Bloody Mary sounded good before going out to lunch. The place looks pretty much the same except the tap handles are all the same wood looking. The place has a nice covered outdoor patio and was completely empty at 12:10 on a Sunday afternoon, bad sign. The young guy working the place gave me some menus and I said I'm only having a drink and I ordered the $8 Bloody Mary with all the fixings the menu states spicy. For all the fixings it was pathetic looking with 2 olives, thin strip of celery and a pickle. The olives were mushy and funny tasting and the pickle was not a good tasting one either as a pickle lover. The spicy Bloody Mary was good and everyone makes them different but it was spicy and tasty. I paid with a $20 spot and got $11 back on my $8 drink so I looked at the on line menu and just like the in house menu the bloody is only $8 so I got over charged even if you add any Wi tax on the $8, did I pay a $1 more for spicy ? Called to make a reservation as we were in town with a larger group. The lady that answered the phone was polite and took our reservation and informed me that with that large of a group(30) we would have to pay it all on one ticket. I told her "that is bad business in my opinion" and said ok we will figure it out. About 5 mins later the Owner of the restaurant called back to enforce that we had to pay it all on one ticket. I said "ok, but in my opinion that is bad business". He then went off and starting immediately cussing me out over the phone trying to degrade me and my party in anyway possible. We never ate here and never will. This guy should be ran out of town or go to anger management class! read more

If you're looking to eat don't waste your time. It's just a bar and the food is standard, frozen bar food. They advertise that it's locally owned and burgers are fresh angus beef. No, they're frozen cafeteria patties. Same with the fries. The Monday $5 burger special doesn't come with fries, and all toppings aside from pickles, onions, tomato and lettuce are an up charge. Plus, it requires you buy a drink and soft drinks are $3.75. So a standard frozen burger with fry and soda runs $14. You're better off going to McDonald's. read more

What an odd experience I had here last night. Stopped in with my aunt and uncle for dinner. The weather was nice so we opted to sit outside and I thought they had a really nice setup there. We ordered drinks and my aunt had a Groupon so I asked the waitress if we could order anything with it, just to be sure, and she tells us Groupon orders are for to-go food only? I have never gone to a restaurant and been refused service for using a coupon..literally the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I would've loved to stay and order a few drinks, but in this case we were told we weren't allowed to. We finished our drinks, paid the bill, and went home to eat..kind of sad seeing as the other people in the restaurant were allowed to stay. I'll never go back as I feel we weren't really welcome. So a couple notes to add.... *the waitress told us they only sold those groupons during covid, even though we purchased it literally before we left. *I looked closely at the stipulations when we got home and it clearly says dine in or carry out * the waitress just had kind of an attitude and there was an air of indifference. I love coming here on Wednesdays for trivia night. Recently they've been doing music bingo which has been a lot of fun. They have a great tap beer list. If you don't see what you want on tap, they likely have it cans as that menu is also quite extensive. The Brewery of the month is usually $4 taps. For the month of August, they are featuring Kona. I'm a fan of their deep fried pickles, and shrimp tacos. Their burgers and flatbread pizza also look good. Staff are friendly. read more

First time trying this spot out in Tosa. The coffee & drinks, 10/10. The food, not so hot. The spinach & artichoke dip tasted like warm yogurt. The wings were a solid 6/10 until a long piece of blonde hair was found wrapped around the drum (pictured). While, I am disappointed, I may consider coming back strictly for drinks and tater tots. We order takeout last week for lunch. I went with the Buffalo chicken sandwich. The bun was the only descent thing on the plate. The chicken patty reminded me of high school cafeteria frozen chicken patty that was just dunked in a bowl of franks hot sauce. I wish I would have taken a picture because the patty was tiny compared to the bun. Plus the lettuce was wilted. For 15 bucks and a tip......... yah I'll pass and won't be going back. read more

I have mixed feelings about this but want to share my experience because it seems to be a recurring issue based on Yelp reviews. My partner and I bought a Groupon about 2-3 weeks ago for $30 worth of food here. We were in the neighborhood today and decided to use it. We realized when we arrived that the Groupon stipulated that we should make a reservation, so we checked before ordering and they said that we could still use the Groupon without one. My partner ordered a beer off the happy hour menu. I ordered a drink from the regular menu, and we both got a couple of their Taco Tuesday special tacos with a regular side order of sweet potato fries. The food was fine. They had a chalk board sign stating that if you signed up for their loyalty program you got a free beer. I asked if this was valid with the Groupon and the bartender (who was absolutely delightful by the way! Zero complaints there!) said that he would check with the manager. He later came back and said that they would offer a $5 gift card in place of the Free Beer but that the entire Groupon was invalid because we ordered "specials." It really felt like the manager made her own judgement call that we were "cheap" for asking about the free beer special while also using a Groupon and just decided not to honor it. The fine print on the coupon stated "full menu, any day of the week" with no stipulations beyond the reservation request. I could have 100% understood saying we couldn't use it without a reservation, or that the free beer was for a subsequent visit, but as a whole the experience felt very judgmental and sloppy. It sucked because we planned to hang out for several drinks there but felt awkward doing so after feeling like we were being seen as calculated cheapskates rather than genuine guests. The bartender did offer to ask the manager to adjust our meals to full price (with no Taco Tuesday or happy hour discounts) which would allow us to use the Groupon, but by that point we were exhausted by it all and just wanted to leave because it made us feel like we were being "Karens" for even having the conversation. The manager never came over to speak to us on her own and made the bartender play liaison despite the fact he noted it was his first day bartending there. He insisted kindly upon offering us the $5 coupon for the "free beer" but honestly I don't think we will be back. It made us feel like free-loaders, despite the fact that we use Groupon to check out local places we wouldn't otherwise go. TLDR: Great bartender, decent food, but really, really weird, unsettling experience based on a Groupon. read more

My husband was at Froedtert Hospital for over 3 months. I asked the nurses for recommendations for a place to get dinner. The answer I got from several people was Ferch's, so I checked it out. Turns out it was a great recommendation! During my 3 months in Milwaukee/Wauwatosa I visited Ferch's a lot! The food is great, the surroundings are comfortable, but my favorite part of Ferch's is...the employees! I was always by myself, but never felt alone. I would describe this as "bar food." My parents both got burgers and I had the appetizers nachos with chili. I asked for chicken as well, but didn't taste or see any. They have a wide selection of beers, as they have the same owners of World of Beer. My mom said her burger had a burnt taste to it, I had a bite and would describe it as char-broiled. The fries were also quite salty/seasoned. The menu isn't very big, so I don't think you would have a problem with deciding on what to order. They also have brunch, but I cannot attest to how that is. read more

Stopped here for a quick snack while working in the area. The restaurant is very nice and has a cool outside space. Jack, the server greeted me right away and showed me all the craft beer offerings. Notta I'm sorry we are short staffed it maybe awhile. *Of our orders 2 of them were made wrong and no apology. *Upon paying we were told we could not pay for our bills separately and was sworn at by server/waitress. At some point the the chef/ "owner" came out from the kitchen, as if he was ready to get in a fight. Stopped on today (July 5th) around 2 pm. Our server Allison had no tables in there yet, awesome! We sit down, we get menus, super brief introduction. We order our entrees and an appetizer and off we go. Kids meals come out first, which was great. No one wants hungry kids waiting. 10-ish minutes later our entrees come out, all correct. THEN the appetizer/shareable that I said we were STARTING with comes out. After everything. Okay no problem, it was good nonetheless. The steak tacos I got- not so much. I took one big bite, and it was a let down for me. Wasn't a fan. After we see Allison speak to the bartender for the entire time we were sitting here, we have had empty waters for well over 20 minutes now. And the plate with my entire taco entree- like 90% of it- was still there. She notices the empty waters finally, brings over a pitcher for us. I ask her to take the tacos back. Not a word is spoken, no asking why, was anything wrong- nada. Not even a question to ask if I want anything else. Fast forward to the bill, still has the tacos on it, we ask if she can remove it. She walks away muttering something about a manager. We can CLEARLY see her not speak to anyone and she came back with two voucher/coupons for this spot. We tell her we're here on a vacation. Allison DID not like that answer. She yet again said she would have to grab a manager, whom she didn't speak too for another 20 minutes. All of this is happening in front of us, the whole time. Sara has the best eyes when it comes to bartending. I never had to ask for a drink. They just magically appeared. I helped them put up chairs expecting nothing and got lowkey one free beer. We were here once before when it was World of Beer and my husband wanted to try it again now that it's Ferch's. Since it was his birthday, I decided to treat him to lunch. He started with a flight of local beers and followed up with the BBQ Chicken flatbread. It came out without chicken the first time. They fired up another, and this time it had chicken on it. He said it was enjoyable but he was disappointed that I'd already finished eating by the time he got his corrected order. I ordered the chicken sliders with steak fries. The fries were under done, sadly. The exterior of the chicken sliders were overdone but the inside of the chicken seemed undercooked. I had a party of ten that I'd made a reservation for about 2-3 weeks in advance. The service was pretty good most of the time although we were charged for an extra serving of cheese that we didn't order. The pretzel app had way too much salt so I just wiped it off, but the loaded tots and truffle fries were a hit. I probably wouldn't return with a group because they couldn't split the check, but I might return in the future with a few friends. Ferch's Crafthouse is in the process of taking over the old World of Beer space on Mayfair & Bluemound. (In the same mini mall as JoJo's) There's still a few World of Beer signs but the menus say Ferch's. Interior wise things are still the same - a long bar with lots of taps, a nice covered patio area and mostly high top tables inside. Hopefully the new owners will do some refreshing as there nothing grosser then old cracked vinyl seats full of germs. Food wise, it's generally pub food - build your own burgers, tacos, flatbreads etc. Every day has a different special and if you are one of those lucky people who can drink at lunch you can score any tap for $2.50. Beer lovers will be happy with the wide selection of drafts available and many more choices in cans or bottles. If beer isn't your thing, they do have wine and cocktails. We stopped for lunch and I opted for their burger ($9) which was good. It was chargrilled pretty heavily and to me tasted a little burnt but I know many like that taste. Sandwiches and burgers come with a side - fries, tots (yay for tots!) or Mac & cheese. Service was really good - on top of refills and even split our check without us having to ask! Most rude and unwelcoming experience ever. Never in my life have I been to a restaurant, ordered drinks which arrived, Showed the server my Groupon which was purchased yesterday, and was told we could not dine in! Clearly she was misinformed, untrained, and doesn't understand customer service or how to ask a manager for assistance. The groupon clearly stated dine in or take out. So we were forced to guzzle our drinks and take our food to go from an empty restaurant and bar. There were approximately two small tables and one person sitting on the patio furniture. At the very least, you would think she would've wanted a bigger bar bill and tip for herself. This was our first experience at this poorly run establishment and obviously our last. The server continued to ignorantly argue with me about the details of the Groupon. And since I was trying to have a happy TGIF at 8:30 PM, I was not up for winning any arguments and ruining my evening. So we took her burgers to go, went home and pulled out plates, condiments/sauces, which were not included even though she said she would put them in the bag. The burgers were not all cooked the same as requested. Some were well done some were medium. The amount of fries was enough for two people and not four people. The menu prices $12 German pretzel (tastes like bread) which was quite small compared to other Establishments in the area (and much higher priced for less) The beer cheese (didn't taste much beer) and mustard were very small amounts. The bun however , was very good. But I didn't take any pictures of the food because by the time we got home and plated it out with condiments from my own kitchen, everything was cold, it was then nearly 9:30 PM! read more
