I can say that with confidence because he's able to put together seemingly disparate pieces of information and ask questions that other doctors would never consider. He's not necessarily going to be able to come up with an answer fast, but he's not going to give up and will also help you figure out new questions to ask yourself about your health. Dr. Glick is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), certified in Functional Medicine that has a membership only practice. Here's what that means: Osteopathic doctors practice all areas of medicine but have special training in your body's musculoskeletal system. DO's focus on prevention and keep more up to date on advances in medical technology. Functional Medicine focuses on adding what the body is missing or lacking (nutrients, vitamins, hormones etc.) and removing what the body doesn't need via detoxification. In a way, it's another level of commitment to looking at the complexity of an individual and their health. Lastly, a Member's Only practice is where you pay to be a part of a practice up front or on a monthly basis. You might not be used to that idea, but first and foremost, Dr. Glick is committing to you as a patient. Secondly, you're not going to get a protocol with suggestions based on "what insurance will pay for." You're going to get a legitimate treatment plan that actually has a good chance of working. His office will bill insurance, but a lot of doctors will never tell you what the best plan of action is, they'll only offer what insurance will pay for, which is almost never the best first choice treatment. Whenever you're dealing with an illness that's a diagnosis of exclusion, you're going to need some patience. That's the only reason I've mentioned that getting well may take some time. Dr. Glick will spend enough time with you so that he really knows who you are, not just knows a few random facts about your life. Because he understands how you look at your life and how you think, he makes recommendations in a way that will make sense and be relevant to you. My experience with other chiropractors has been okay and baseline effective. Dr. Secrest is without question medically intuitive and never fails to have an amazing insight as to what needs help in order for me to have better function and less pain. Dr. Secrest and I met after I was involved in a high speed hit and run auto accident on the 101. My lane of traffic was crawling along at idle when I was reared ended at full speed, then the person took off. My right bicep muscle tore horizontally across, while both of left and right arms' the bicep tendons split vertically. 70% of my muscles in my upper back were torn as well as my groin and wrist. When I came through his door I could barely walk. I was unable to dress myself or take care of myself without extreme struggle. Every bit of life was a challenge. Today I can function pretty normally with only occasional "ghosts" of pain that show up from time to time in the different injury sites. I am 1, 000 miles away from the train wreck I was when I walked into his clinic! To add to the challenge for Dr. Secrest I was born with Ehler's -Danlos Syndrome. (A collagen mal-synthesis disorder that causes hyper mobility of the joints and tendons and excess scar tissue post injury.) On impact I could feel internal surgical incisions from old C-Sections tear. I could feel all my injuries tearing when adrenaline took over to keep me going for the next hour or so. The next day was HELL! Covid showed up only four months after the incident leaving me with NO HELP with every day living with injuries. This situation prolonged my healing and made me a tough case for all my doctors. Sadly, I did not meet Dr. Secrest until about a month and a half after the accident. He has a great personality, terrific sense of humor and is great with kids and is very thorough in his intake process. During the intake process, my wife and learned things about our little girl's health that we did not previously know. Been meaning to write this review for a while now. About 7 months ago, I was diagnosed with…read moreAdhesive Capsulitis or frozen shoulder as they say. It was very painful and reduced my left arm movement by 70%. I tried some exercises provided by my orthopedist with limited results. My wife suggested acupuncture which has help me in the past with other injuries, so she began her research. After speaking with several clinics in town who were less than impressive during her initial conversations, she spoke with David Legar at Accurate Acupuncture and made an appointment for me. When I showed up for my first appointment, David was extremely nice and cordial. He has a very positive energy around him and you can't help but smile. David took me back to the treatment room and proceeded with a full q&a session about my current injury, past experience with acupuncture, medical history, and other questions about sleep patterns, fatigue, headaches, etc... He examined the range of motion (or lack thereof) in my arm and shoulder, checked pulse, tongue (this is very common with acupuncture treatment and was pleased he did this) and other stuff. After the initial exam, we proceeded to the treatment. David targeted not only the areas around my shoulder, but many other meridians as well. David also suggested gua sha (the ancient Chinese practice of scraping the skin around the affected area) and cupping. Both of these are very effective in pulling inflammation from within the muscle tissue to the surface and relieving some of the pain. Boy did it work too. After the gua sha treatment, David also applied some electro muscle stimulation and heat to my should, and then let me rest for 30 minutes. Fast forward.... By the time I got home, there was a noticeable decrease in my pain level, which was the main thing keeping me from daily activities. I continue seeing David a couple time per week for the next few months and by that time, I had ZERO pain and all but about 10% of my range of motion back. I now see David at least twice per month for routine maintenance. David's treatments continually provide relief for just about everything from fatigue, to headaches, insomnia and digestive issue. I just tell him what's not 100% and he knows just what to do. My insurance covers my treatments there, but call to make sure they take your insurance. If they don't, David's treatments are very affordable for the quality of treatment you will receive. I highly recommend you try Accurate Acupuncture if you're looking for amazing bedside manner and great results.
