I saw a negative post about Dr. Asin. I want to say that I have seen Dr. Asin a few times now and have found him and his office staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Dr. Asin never rushes through his appointment and I feel that he goes above and beyond in his checkups. He asks lots of questions and I do believe he really cares. I was referred to Dr. Asin by another one of my doctors. I have since referred him to many of my friends, as it is hard to find a really good doctor, an Internal Medicine Specialist who takes Medicare and many other insurance companies. Debra O read more

I believe the dea even tried to give him a hard time as they do and of course nothing came of it because this man was being nothing but a fine doctor. I've been a patient of Dr. Asin's for many years. He is very caring and knowledgeable. However, his receptionist was very rude and hung up on me. In all the years I've gone to doctor's offices or any office for that matter, I never had that happen. Was referred to his office and from start found it extremely difficult to get in to see him. On the day of my new patient scheduled visit, I ended up in the ER. I called his office to let his team know and was told to call back to rebook. I called later that day from the ER knowing I would be told to contact him upon discharge. I scheduled another appointment for the following Thursday and it was then recommended to call Monday morning if I wanted to try and get in sooner. I also booked time with his PA on Tuesday just as a backup. I called first thing Monday as soon as the office opened and was told they had no cancellations. Several hours later I received a call and was told that they would need to reschedule my Tuesday visit as Dr. Asin does not take new patients on Tuesday, further the soonest he could get me in was two-three weeks later. First off, my appointment on Tuesday was with your PA and my second appointment was with the DR. Thursday. Remember, I was in the ER last week and this is/was clearly urgent. That said, thank you for taking this matter seriously and making me wait. Clearly, in your eyes, the fact that a 40-year-old man is slowly losing his ability to walk isn't indicative of anything serious. I am drafting this in the off chance your insurance provider reads this they should know there is a fairly good chance your office staff are going to be the cause of serious injury to someone someday. read more

Dr. Asin is rare in that he takes his time with his patients to address all their needs. You don't feel like a "number" (other doctors appear to be looking at their watches and give you the bum's rush). Dr. Asin knows I like to be involved in the medical decisions, and always gives me options on how to proceed with advantages and disadvantages of each, and then allows me to decide. He has great follow-through. He cares about his patients as PEOPLE, not as charts to be processed. I am so happy to be back with Dr. Asin! read more

I have been visiting Dr Asin for over 2 years now. My interactions with him have always been nothing shy of excellent. I suspect that the issue I am writing about may have been caused by members of his staff. I live with type 2 diabetes, and I have been without medication for the past 4 weeks as a result of gross negligence by some members of his office. As a matter of fact, 4 weeks ago, my pharmacy informed me that my new health insurance policy was declining to cover my Jardiance prescription. They also informed me that they were in the process of contacting my primary care provider to get the issue resolved. Instead of making an attempt at submitting a "Prior Authorization" request to the insurance company, I received a call a couple of days later from the office of Dr Asin. The staff member on the line explained that my insurance would only cover a different medication called OZENPIC. I shared with the lady on the phone that I had a bad tolerance (extreme fatigue) for a similar medication called Trulicity, which is administered through a single weekly shot as well. She advised me that we needed to try the OZENPIC option, as we needed to provide some proof of treatment failure before attempting to go back to the insurance company. I gave my approval. The next day, I presented myself to my pharmacy which to my great surprise informed me that the OZENPIC had also being rejected by my insurance company, and that they were in the process of contacting my primary care provider a second time. Several days later, a member of Dr Asin's staff contacted me to ask me to come in for a visit, because I was overdue for my routine checkup and blood work. I told her that I was happy to finally receive a call from them since it had now been more than 2 weeks that I had ran out of medication. She tried to schedule an appointment for another 2 weeks out! I was dumbfounded and repeated that this was now week 3 of me not having any medication. She asked me to come the following Friday at 8.45am, just 2 days later. I had a mandatory meeting at work that was scheduled to start at 9am on that day, but I was able to get it pushed to start at 10am. I showed up on time and was placed in a room to be seen by the doctor. Around 8.55am the doctor came by the door of my room. I heard him grabbing my file on the back of the door only to be stopped by one of his staff and redirected to a different room. I ended up waiting for 30 minutes after which I exited the room and I informed that staff member that I was at risk of losing my job if I had to stay any longer. I requested that the doctor be asked to give me a call at 6pm that evening as I would be tied up at work until then. 3 business days later, I am yet to be contacted by this office. Today, Wednesday February 16, 2022, I was able to obtain an appointment and be seen within 12 minutes by a doctor using Telehealth through my insurance (AMWELL). I was prescribed a 30-day supply of Jardiance that I had to pay out of pocket. Cost: $443.62!!! My glucose numbers are very bad with an average of 225 mg/dL. I am appalled by the lack of professionalism, the lack of empathy with which I have been treated, and the lack of compassion I was given. I plan on finding a new PCP within the next week. read more

I have BCBS which Dr Asin doesn't take but my entire family (mom, brothers, husband) and I see him, and we pay out of pocket just because he is the absolute most experienced, empathetic, sincere physician I have ever been to. Dr. Asin has been my physician for 24 years or so. He is professional, thorough, knowledgeable, careful, listens well, gathers all of the information before making decision or diagnosis, stays current with the latest medical knowledge, friendly, easy to talk to. He is persistent in helping his patients. He helped my wife with, at the time, a particularly tough problem. Others gave up on her, suggesting the problem was in her head or idiopathic. However, Dr. Asin believed her & kept researching the problem. He came across the same situation in the literature & resolved her problem with the right medicine. I can't recommend him too strongly. Both my husband and I go to Dr. Asin. We had been to many doctors for years not finding someone good before finding him. I was so relieved when we met him. What a wonderful doctor! He's more than GREAT! Spends so much time with you and listens to everything you say. His knowledge is incredible. He always seems to be right on with everything! And he follows up. He's the kind of person that you are totally comfortable with. He has labs right in his office so you don't have to make a different appointment and then come back. Absolute best primary care physician. Old school as far as looking at the whole patient. I escort my 80+mother to her appointments. Today's visit was a follow up to a recent fall she incurred with subsequent hip replacement surgery. Dr Asin patiently reviewed all her new meds, and painstakingly ensured her current plan of care in all areas is on point. I would like to start off by saying Dr. Asin IS the ONLY DECENT, COMPASSIONATE doctor I have EVER had. What actually prompted me to review my FAVORITE doctor was having to unfortunately unfavorability review my RA doctor. I have been seeing Dr. Asin since I was 20 years old (and shhh!) I'm 49 years young now, but actually due to all my illnesses I kinda don't feel young anymore. But neither here nor there, Dr. Asin IS NOT a PROVIDER on my insurance plan, yet I still come to see him anyways. So if you're your looking for a SPECTACULAR doctor, look NO FURTHER.....Dr. Asin is the ONLY choice to be making. Him and his staff are INCREDIBLE! I could go on and on about Dr. Asin and his wonderful staff but it would be a novel. Lol. A GREAT one though.... in all seriousness, I truly adore this doctor for he also cared at one time for my brother who passed away from Leukemia. He treated my brother like gold.
