GENERAL GAU'S CHICKEN: Aka General Tso's (delivery via GrubHub)--2 stars
J S.

I only review Chinese-American restaurants (or American Chinese, if you prefer) based on one dish, and one dish alone, which is the greatest dish in the pantheon of Chinese-American awesomeness: General Tso's Chicken (Spelled however you want--here they call it General Gau's--but I guarantee you are actually pronouncing it wrong, Silly Rabbit.) So, as for GTC at FSK, I ordered it via GrubHub. It was delivered very fast and was quite hot when it arrived. The batter was decent, although less crispy than I prefer, which is understandable for delivery or take-out. The sauce was not too sweet, not too sticky, but wasn't at all spicy. Would have definitely benefited from a bit more heat. Came without rice, and served on "not really a bed" of broccoli florets (as in 2 or 3 teeny ones that got lost and wilted in the sauce). Also a few dried red chilies. As far as the chicken, some of it was reasonably cooked, not exactly tender or juicy, but not tough either. But many of the smaller pieces, and some of the larger that were cut longitudinally, had been over-cooked and were tough and dry. All in all, serviceable, but I can't give it more than 2 stars. [Also ordered some other standards, some of which were noticeably in the Boston-style of Chinese American cooking, but the GTC was the best dish.]

Smiling faces with excellent customer service!

This place is a diamond in the rough. Tucked back in the corner you will find a great place to ha e lunch or dinner. Seating is limited so take_out or delivery is the best option. The people you will see inside are happy and helpful for new people like myself. The food is on point and more than you would expect from a small shop. Bottom line is you come hungry and leave happy!

Pad Thai

Yes, I think A-OK is a pretty appropriate rating for this place. You get good take-out quality Pan-Asian food, but at sit-down prices. While there are a couple tables where you can have you meal seated in the restaurant, it is mostly take-out oriented. I went with three other friends, and well all ordered something different, on a separate bill. While we did not try each other's food, there were gaps between the times each of our meal were prepared, and an especially large gap between the person before me, and me (I ordered/got food last). It seemed as though they only prepared the second dish once the first was complete, rather than completing simultaneously. I ended up getting the Pad Thai because of how delicious it looked like on the picture on the menu. When the dish came out, it was piping hot! Which is always a plus. As for the taste, it was, in one word "pleasant". There was an ample amount of chicken that was cooked perfectly. It was tender and wicked soft. There was also an okay amount of veggies, also cooked perfectly. There was a very large amount of noodles, the real thin long kind where you shamelessly wrap them on your fork and gobble them up. However, the noodles were perhaps a touch too oily... possibly because of the sauce... In terms of the sauce, it was mildly sweet, and tied everything together very well. However, overall, I found that other than the combination of textures from the chicken, veggies, and the fact that everything was cooked perfectly, I would have liked that the dish is a little more than one dimensional in terms of flavor. Because of the sauce, there was no other noticeable seasoning or otherwise other than that sauce. there is definitely potential for this dish to be much more flavorful if the sauce was not the only thing adding flavor. While if this were priced as regular take-out, I would not be complaining, but at a cost of $12, I set the bar a little higher. I will, however, give them the fact that portion size was quite large (difficult to eat in one sitting) and they did provide the very spicy Asian mustard on the side.

Orange Beef with broccoli, pan fried ravioli, pork fried rice.

I have high hopes for Feng Shui as there are limited options for good Chinese food in Waltham. I work near their other location in Chelmsford and have always had good food there. We ordered take out tonight which was delivered promptly and all of the food traveled well. The orange beef was nice and crispy and the fried rice was fresh. We will have to stop by Feng Shui to dine in next time! Another great addition to Waltham.

Pretty average Chinese takeout. Quality is not worth the price. Very good crab rangoons though

Food is good. The options are limited compared to what I'm used to. Prices are a bit high for the portion size.

I ordered two rolls, the new rainbow roll and the new tiger roll as well as a tako nigiri. The new tiger roll is now one of my favorite sushi rolls ever. A harmonious combination of flavors between the sweet mango, the fatty tuna, the crunch of the asparagus and the earthiness of a thin slice of truffle makes this roll an experience to remember. Fast and friendly service and white tablecloth ambiance makes this a place to come back to while in town. I did two nights in a row

Two stars only because the venue was mostly empty (which is a sign the place probably sucks and its in business just because company lunches around the area; and that we got a semi-private area to sit. Waltham doesnt have great sushi venues, but this wont I would avoid - not worth effort, money, ambience, or experience. Not recommended.

I could not stomach any of their food. 4 crab Rangoon with little to no filling, 2 extremely fatty poor quality chicken teriyaki sticks and 1 egg roll for $17 on a bed of rice that tasted so old. I remember their Mala spicy pot being decent (however not as good as the spots I visit in Cambridge and Allston-Brighton) but gets the job done, there were many shrimp heads but where's the rest of the shrimp? Super expensive for small portions, old beef slices and old shrimp, had a bad smell so I tossed $50 worth of food. I woke up extremely sick this morning from the food, never again.

We knew that there is a couple of few Asian places in the area so we stumble upon this one. It turns out that it was a new Taiwanese place nice bar some TVs and overall clean. We tried the Taiwanese dumplings, which I thought were very good savory packed with meat and fried perfectly. Try the braised pork belly. It was a slightly sweeter sauce, but cooked right. Then we got the slice fish salt and pepper. Overall good experience for traditional Taiwanese food in the area.

I'll be honest when I say that I found it rather weird walking into an establishment empty of customers and a full amount of staff behind the counters (5 in the kitchen, 3 up front). I tried to order from their kiosk, which didn't work, so ended up still having to chat with the kid at the counter who looked away the whole time while speaking under his breath. A little confused and very hungry, I finally asked him to recommend a tofu dish he'd eat...and he literally without a blink of an eye starts naming all the tofu dishes off the menu. Lol. Ok, here we go. It's probably hunger hitting hard and the sugar dipping too low that I finally just ordered away. Food came out really fast (note number of staff in kitchen; plus, it's a Chinese kitchen...with that number of staff), packed nicely and got me back on the road home. I didn't think twice as I ripped into the bag seeking hunger reprieve. Tofu with bamboo shoots? Ooh, not bad. Beef with Snow Peas? Tastes good except for the part that you over slurried it...total noob mistake. House fried rice? Let's just say Uncle Roger won't roast you. Will I be back? Maybe. But only when that late night munchie hits again and I've got nothing in the fridge to save a life.
